Law of averages suggests a Middle Easte trip..those Nix desert storm hats may have a use after all!

Well, decent first half. Playing well so far just controlling the game and playing at our own tempo without exerting ourselves too much. Good on ya Siggy for getting your first international goal too.

Three for me, and two for them.

The most ghetto coverage ever!

Loved it when the French commentary kicked in. Awkward pause. "So....uh......ten minutes into the game..."

Fiji. Think it's my old nemesis Rakesh Varman.

Three for me, and two for them.

46' - Great throughball behind the NZ defence sees Wahnyamalla get through on goal and advance around keeper Glen Moss. Ryan Nelsen gets back in the nick of time to clear the ball off the line.

Keep it together boys

Let's not start sucking our dicks just yet about which Asian side is better for us.  Let's crush NCL and sink Oceania first.

As I'm not part of the 'us' I was wondering what a bit of the tempting fate might bring the evening...

GOAL - New Zealand 1 - New Caledonia 1- Michael Hmae finishes of a swift New Caledonian attack following some slick passing. Hmae picked his spot and slid the ball clinically past Glen Moss.

Even by Oceaniafootball.com standards - that was the quickest 14 minutes in history.

60' - New Caledonia have a new sense of urgency in the second half.

It really is shameful isn't it?

What's happening on field apart from the 'new state of urgency'?

If NZ win one of the two matches, or draw both, then we will be in the Confeds I believe, otherwise NC will go through as Oceania rep I think.

65' GOAL - New Zealand 2 - New Caledonia 1 - Jarrod Smith provides a deep cross from the left hand side which Jeremy Brockie redirects into the path of Shane Smeltz who buries the ball in the back of the net from six yards out.

We're one point ahead of NCL with 3 games to play. (NCL have two)

A win in either match with NCL puts us through. Two draws puts us through. A loss and a draw means we must beat Fiji in Fiji next month to qualify.

Qualification = Confeds Cup and WC playoff

We need to win one of the 3 matches.

Remember we still have our home game against Fiji in Samoa
