Like many of us, I havent seen him play very much so Im not gonna comment on his ability.

But you gotta feel for him, hes come all the way to NZ and done sod-all in 2 years.
Being a spectator every week must be soul destroying, and there are not even competitive second team games to play in.

Whats the feedback on his attitude, does he get on with everyone ok?

Near the end of this arvo's trial game he had a free kick from just outside the box. Having had an average game, I said that his ticket to SA relies on this kick. I bet he thought it too. One moment of genius might sway favour in his direction. Aiming for the top right corner, his kick failed to bend back in sailing high and wide. My money is on David staying home come June.

Thought he was ok in the game today, and yes he will go

By all accounts from those who have seen the warm up games he hasn't done his chances any harm.

Seems to be one of the better players on the field according to reports.

Brian Turner seemed pretty positive about him at end of the game on the radio

Hey guys and girls, according to the suvenir programme that I got at the Camaroon vs Slovakia and NZ vs the pitch invaders Mr Mulligan has been signed by Newcastle Jets!!!

Ah so we've done one better than the NYL and NZFC. We managed to take over the jets and put our reserve/youth side in the A league  very clever Tony P and Terry, way to think outside the square and stick it to the FFA

Allegedly

This hasn't been mentioned anywhere else, very high likelihood it was simply a typo.

This maybe tegal doing  sarcasm. By you know exporting, by typing error, exporting Mulligan and having Kiwi Brockie there...

I know, just saying that there is absolutely no evidence of the Jets signing Mulligan other than this mention here.

I dont think it is you know.  I'll scan in the page from the programme at work tomorrow and let you all gesticulate from there but considering that it had every other play on Saturday at the correct club (or unattached ala Elliott) I don't see any reason why it would be a miss-print esp. given Newcastle's history of picking up NZ cast offs/rejects and giving them new momentum (Coveny, Brown, Old, Brockie etc).

Jets, nowhere near each other in the programme though, so clearly no typo

Official: Mully to ACFC

http://aucklandcityfc.com/news/article.asp?ID=66

I can just imagine him having a quiet beer at Kiwitea, and bluemagic and uncloz come over to him and bend his ear about what a bastard Ricki Herbert is. Won't that add a bit of spice to a putative ACFC / Nix Ressies matchup? Will Mully go out of his way to give Diego et al. an elbow?Doloras2010-07-29 10:46:37

good on him for getting out there and "helping" the kids, pity they couldn't get one of the playing 15 to be involved.

Queenslander 3x a year.

I LOL'd when the kids were asked if they saw Mully on TV at the WC.

sure, some people don't like him, but would he have been worse than Jeremy Christie? And if Clapham can dominate in the NZFC then I'd hate to see what Mulligan can do
Permalink Permalink

Plodder was much better for the Phoenix than Mulligan.

And I've seen Mulligan against NZFC opposition - nothing to write home about. And I wouldn't say Clapham dominates in the NZFC based on a few games I've seen him play at that level.
