Oh right. Yeah makes me a bit worried because the way I see it, it's probably in Wellington's favor head to head but if a board member has stalled it, it makes me wonder if he's trying to get together a last ditch case for Auckland because it's obvously going Wellington's way. All speculation of course.

Personally, heart says Wellington but I'll be living in Auckland (and working at Eden Park) by then so selfishly, part of me wouldn't mind an Auckland game.

You'll be working at Eden Park! Hey Topleft07, Western Springs AFC is the Auckland club for you! Just down the road and around the corner. Unless you're up to ACFC standard of course...

No, no where near that standard - Cap Prem with a CL cameo here and there at best! Not sure where I'll be living yet but I will keep that in mind!

Apparently the game is being played on Stewart Island. Fred De Jong wants to give the away side a tough trip to NZ. You want a source ? I am the source.

Adding to this inconvenience they'll also be subject to Gareths intense biosecurity strip search on arrival at the island

FU BLU is right though, they have decided but not announcing until next week now!

What are they doing.

According to article posting on the news page, they are making sure they secure accomodation for both teams before all the supporters and book everything out.

Surely they should have just tentatively booked accomodation in both Welly and Auckland, and then cancelled the one they didn't need rather than spending a week trying to book accom?

Must be Auckland then. If it was Welly, to save money they would just billet all the players out to Phoenix players.

Do you know how many faxes that would take ?

All it would take is for someone to ring Eden Park and try book the venue on that date and see what they say

That's far too smart for them to do. *facepalm*

Wellington would be the only town that would need NZF to sort the accomodation earlier than the fans _WE ARE FOOTBALL

Not wrong.
Welly accom free, Auckland not.
Though Sydney to Auckland's probably easier for flight options.

737 Motel - has large pool football pitch just across the road. Is close to the airport. Large food supply just down the road. On the bus route to the station.  What more could they want.

Looks like someone at the sales team representing Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour at meeting at SkyCity, in late June twitted they had booked the All Whites for November. The Tweet was taken down but there is some stuff on facebook about it. Talk about a major leak!!.

So glade its in Auckland, If you cant be a side there then you don't belong at a World Cup.

So NZ's most tedious football saga rolls on.  Why there has been so many column inches devoted to this I don't know (actually I do know, a complete lack of imagination on behalf of the football press in NZ).  I estimate there has been about one a fortnight saying exactly the same thing. It literally does not matter, just pick one and get on with it!!

FIFA restricted how many temp seats we could put in last time. Nothing down on the grass.

It could be Welly ..... Im not sure how long it takes to make hotel bookings there *...2 weeks , 2 months ? Do they have to get the NZF fax expert back on deck ? Nothing Im witnessing makes me believe  that NZF have actually reached competancy in anything ....

* or in Auckland actually ....

Yeah I remember that now. The temp seats gave easy access to the field. Would have been chaos given how many pitch invasions there were without temp seating.
