Only 5 potential starters didn't go on the tour (Rojas, Wood, Smeltz, Killen, Sigmund).

The first 4 are wingers/forwards, Sigmund is a defender.

+ Chris James, Michael Mcglinchy..?

EDIT: Mcglinchy played against T&T but not Chivas USA

Thought McGlinchey was on the tour based on what i've read online.

James should not be a starter.

Three for me, and two for them.

The new start time is 7:00pm. Your tickets

New running times are as follows:

F#$k it!! my plane arrives at 6:15pm, that could F#4k up my boys birthday present!!

Any local knowledge that will help us get to the game b4 7:00pm?

What's the traffic like at that time?

It is going to be too tight IMHO...Look at changing flights..for
$50? I would. Realistically it was tigt anyway for a 35000 sell out crowd
but... Bring no bags so u depart airport faster. U will get caught in match
traffic the closer u get to the stadium. Ask driver to ge tu as close as
possible....maybe off Terrace rather than along Quays

yeah I thought 75mins was a close call but manageable

Google says in Normal traffic its 16mins so I thought allow 45mins we should be sweet!

By the time we get in a taxi will have about 30mins

On a tight budget, (told the misscus we should be able to do the whole trip for under $400.00) but looked at changing times would cost us extra $378.00

(It's currently costing $366.00 +Taxi to stadium all up for air fares. Match tickets, backpackers for a night)

I'm going to be stressing about this for a month until we are seated!

Who is your flight with? You never know, give them a call and tell them the sob story and you never know, maybe they'll switch you around if they still can...

Yeah Mcglinchy joined the squad for the T&T game but I don't think he played against Chivas USA or Ventura County fusion.

they are 105 millons in MEXICO plus 35 millons more in the U.S.  Yes they are insulting and cursing your national team on facebook, it is part of the folk that comes with the beautiful game, nothing more just pure nonsenses from "lumpens" as the germans say

Must be some big TV revenue coming NZF's way!!!

Cheers mate, time change noted. You'd hope NZF would make a killing off of this one. They might even be able to fund the next u17 World Cup squad's flights and accommodation!

[quote=Seb]

What involvement does Carlos Slim have in Mexican football Javier? I know he is the richest man in the world and owns pretty much the whole country. This man is worth over 70 billion dollars. How you obtain this kind of money LEGALLY is beyond me. If he is heavily involved in Mexican football, surely it is very corrupt.

[quote]

Monopolist ways, he's a clever bussines man who got his chance and got it right (obviously there must be some corruption here and there, but most of his wealth was gotten legaly, just taking advantage of gaps in Mexican law about monopoly).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

[quote=JAVIER16]No shit!!  i told you so, there's gonna be blood.  HERRERA manager from AMERICA FC, will take over, he has the backing from the rich people of Mexico, that is  the tv networks, Carlos Slim, TELMEX, TELEMUNDO of USA the latin tv network in the STATES, plus CNN, FOX SPORTS LATIN & ESPN.[quote]

Slim can't get along with Azcarraga, you talking a bunch of bollocks as usual. This is entirely a Televisa thing, Telemundo (NBC), ESPN & much less Telmex aren't involved in this. You keep trying to look like you're in the know with Mexican things, but please... just stop embarrassing yourself.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[quote=JAVIER16]America FOOTBALL CLub depends on TELEVISA NETWORK, THEY JUST BY THEMSELVES DECIDED THAT CURRENT MANAGER SHOULD BE REMOVED.  It is like Barça or the Phoenix or PSG decide by their own who shuould be the manager for the national team, this charade is ridiculous.
No democracy at all,

Carlos Slim is involved in football, at mexico level and CONCACAF LEVEL plus FIFA,  and is in some way connected to Shakira, that's why she was the main star in the last 2 world cups  doing her "petite repertoire".  I know that from a very good source. [quote]

LOL... Slim was never that involved in football, he was one of the biggest sponsors for the airtime (and some clubs here and there), but he liked to keep away from Mexican footie and football in general (Slim is more a fan of racing himself, hence why he preffers to support F1 teams). He just got involved in football two years ago when he broke up totally with Televisa & TV Azteca and stopped being a sponsor, so now he has shares in Grupo Pachuca and Estudiantes Tecos, but that's all... the power in the FMF has always been more up to Televisa & TV Azteca along with FEMSA, CEMEX & Vergara (Chivas owner).

I won't even comment in his involvement with FIFA and Shakira, again, you're just talking things out of your arsehole as usual.

Be really interested 2 know peoples 11  NZ vs The Vertically Challenged

4 wht its worth here's mine :

             MOSeS

The  Moari Monster           The Turncoat             Tommyboy

Tuiloma (the wonder kid)   Storm in a teacup

Hendo(mania)   Weemac       Kiwi Messi         Kostic-soda

                             Wood (it in ffs)

subs :  Keat (our very own ginge+ ball playing skills), Smeltz (where's that rat ?), bOXall, SPOONley, Pain, Oink, Leo. Shame about Kill-em could of imagined him getting a goal there - given his brash resilence & would have been right in their faces. Need a certain level of psychological domination.

Hopefully Winston has another useful chat with Sam Allardichi about the superlatives of playing a variation to the 4-6-0 re the 5-4-1.  So lets just not park the bus, lets park the whole bus depot  ! using  quickness, skill & guile on the break - with the ocasional hoof-ball (thanks Tommy pay attention to Winstom hes learning to play out) for good measure & to keep them guessing.

btw Im not sure why theres murmurs doubting Winston's comittment - he was superb in the T&T match (my motm) contained the beast Jones well  & they love him at West Ham and rightly so, consistenly in the top 3 for the Hammers  this year  imo.

GO THE ALL WHITES!!! fortitudinem, et honorem !

Maybe they had their chance to have their card count wiped at the end of the CONCACAF qualifying. OFC used ours after stage 1 rather than at the end of stage 3

Thats my guess.

Go to the airport early, they can often put you on an earlier flight on the day of travel free of charge.

Edit: that's if its Air NZ and not Grab a Seat - if its Jetstar your fucked.

Some of the other replies you've received here fail to mention all of the many players missing:

Of the "usual" or potential starters missing were: #1 goalie Glen Moss, very experienced defender Ben Sigmund (last World Cup), defender/ defensive midfielder Ivan Vicelich (former Dutch First Div. pro and most experienced member of team), Tim Payne (Blackburn Rovers, England, defensive midfielder), Leo Bertos (wing-back/ winger - very experienced veteran of last World Cup)

And most of our first-choice strikers - Rojas, Smeltz, Wood, Killen (none of them traveled and Killen will miss the Mexico games) They are our main goal-scoring threat (Rojas = Stuttgart, Bundesliga; Wood = Leicester City, England; Smeltz = top-scorer in most seasons of A-League in Australia). The remaining strikers who played v Chivas don't score many e.g. Brockie has never scored for NZ and Fallon plays in the Scottish Premier League but is more a target man and doesn't score many.

So, actually nine potential first choice players missing due to injury (Moss, Vicelich and Bertos picked up injuries on the tour but are not serious injuries).

Fair comments, but Sigmund, Payne, Bertos, Smeltz, Killen more than likely won't be playing, and Rojas might also not be fit.

I read it on reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1oog6i/chicharito_yellow_card_mistakenly_reported_fifa/

I'm sure I remember the referee showing a yellow to Hernandez and then he got subbed off but according to the Fifa match report he never received a yellow and was subbed off before the yellow was given to Marquez.

FIFA website I think is in error in not even recording his yellow card in the match stats - so, don't worry about it, his yellow counts and he won't be playing the first leg v NZ. The CONCACAF website is probably more reliable and does record his yellow during the match here:
(scroll down):
14 Javier Hernández (F)  57'  59'
as does ESPN:
The errant FIFA website stats:

I read it ("reddit") and I think the guy's wrong - it's just some guy like us on a football fan site ! So, who knows?
He's basing it on the fact the yellow isn't listed in the FIFA website in the match stats - but that isn't actually the referee's "match report" as the guy alleges, just some stats on the website and could be wrong. Maybe they just mistakingly left the yellow out next to his name.
Everywhere else has it as a yellow including the CONCACAF official website as I pointed out and the Mexico Federation on their Twitter:

FEMEXFUT @ FEMEXFUTOFICIAL October 15

Warning for Javier Hernandez (14) of Mexico in the 56th minute

It seems suspensions based on accumulation of yellows carries over into the play-offs in CONCACAF - see here from previous experience of Trinidad and Tobago fans:
" It seems that it will carry over as this is the same competition.. it is all part of the qualification process.
FIFA regs:

--- Quote ---Section 4. Carrying over and canceling cautions and match suspensions
Art. 37 Carrying over cautions
Cautions received during one competition are not carried over to another competition.
They are, however, carried over from one round to the next in the same competition.
The Disciplinary Committee may exceptionally depart from this rule before the start of a particular competition. This provision is subject to art. 38.

Art. 38 Cancellation of cautions
At the request of a confederation, the Disciplinary Committee may cancel cautions that have not resulted in a match suspension so as to restore the balance among several teams that have not played the same number of matches during the first round of a competition, or in other exceptional circumstances.  In any case, the committee may do this only once in any competition.
The Disciplinary Committee’s decision is final.
[Chicharito's cautions cannot be cancelled because they have resulted in a match suspension.]

Thanks Pete!

So does this mean if any of these players receive a yellow they will miss the home leg?? Or do they not carry though to the play offs

Also did Ian Hogg receive a second yellow in the last game against Solomon Islands that carry's through? I seem to remember reading that somewhere..

(is this the match report? No yellow card for him there either...)

Answered by Piney here (and yes, I believe Hogg is out for the play-off first leg too).
(Cards only carry through if they were acquired in World Cup qualifiers - so I'm assuming all those cards were picked up in earlier qualifiers?)

Nine frontline #allwhites are on a yellow card. Another booking in the away leg at the Azteca mean they'll miss the home leg #WC2014

Even if Chicharito is cleared up from the suspension don't expect him to get much playing time. The new head coach will play Jimenez instead cos thats one of his players from Club America.

That would be at 5 am rather than when there is moderate traffic.
You might need to ask the driver if it will be quicker to go "around the bays" instead of through the Mt Vic tunnel at that time of day if you think the traffic will be mental.

Yep go round the bays. If you got to oriental parade (bout a 5-10 min drive from the airport) and found that the traffic was really bad and you were going nowhere, I would just run it. It would probably be like a 15-20 min run from Oriental Parade. Seeing the magnitude of the event, I wouldn't feel embarressed at all to stretch the legs to get there in time..
