Some interesting names on there. Harrison has had big wraps on him for a while. TW youth are really going to benefit from players coming to try crack the Nix set-up, Stevens will rip up at youth level.
Most interesting name by a decent length of bondage rope is Christian Grey...
Wonder if other teams will keep him tied down....??
joel sould destroy any youth team but surely he will be with the mens? if not hes just a waste in that league and wont benefit anything from it.. great player by the way! was a pleasure to play with him down south!
Can you play Youth League and also for the Wanderers?
pretty sure they mean hamilton wanderers.
I'm also confused. Def not Hamilton Wanderers. However on Jan 12th at Nth Harbour Wanderers play ACFC Youth @ 12pm. Then @ 3pm Wanders ASB prem team play Hawkes Bay Utd ASB prem team.
So Wanderers (who are the NZ Under-19's i.e. NZ Youth team, yes?) also have a Youth team?

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...

Cheers Chopah. Hope the new NZF CEO gets to grips with all this too.

I find it hard to be interested in the trip to Masterton after the criteria Heartland have had to operate under from Capital Football. They have effectively condemned the new franchise to failure. Surely they should have allowed equal opportunities for both franchises which would of allowed all of our best players a chance to be recognised by NZ Football. Instead we have at least ten players in Team Wellington who are better than anything Heartland have got, who will get limited playing time.

Zoro that last comment is pretty disrespectful.
+1
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
The Nelson Marlborough Falcons have their season draw on their website.. figured other clubs might have done the same

Names: I see they Team Wellington are insisting on spelling it Christian "Grey".
Must be 50 shades of a standing joke.
Either that or there is no chance of Khouchaba and Tujuba being right
WaiBOP Utd drew 1-1 with Hawke's Bay Utd today at the Matamata Domain. Totally fair result. Jevon Williams opened the scoring for WaiBOP midway through the 2nd half, before Angus Kilkolly equalised from a re-taken spot kick. There were plenty of other chances at both end and 3-3 would probably have been a more appropriate result. Decent entertainment, though.
Heartland Wairarapa worked hard all game - the score does not reflect their effort and football.
But they did go down 4 nil to a wasteful Team Wellington youth.
Pedro reads the game well - so sits CB or DM and his vision well out ways speed at this level.

Unless he has misspelled it himself on Facebook, his surname is certainly spelled with an "a" not an "e".

Falcons currently up 2-0 before half time against Otago, who were last year's finalists. Hopefully they can put a few more and seal an early away victory.
Went to watch Auckland Utd vs Waitak today. Akl won 3-1. You would swear they won the Champions League the way they were carrying on though. Bit OTT.
Three for me, and two for them.
Hey Buffon who on earth are the auk utd team anyway? Are they U20s who can't make Wanderers, Waitak Youth, ACFC youth?
Kotahitanga. We are one.
ie national 2nd tier or auk 2nd tier?

Here's my write-up and photos from the Auckland United game for anyone interested.

A very diverse ethnic make-up of the AU side, contrasted with an almost exclusively lily white Waitak side. You can see that these two teams were taken from a very different catchment area.
Great addition to the league, so much raw talent at this level in South Auckland, but unfortunitily for what ever reason players tend to be over looked...

Juts thinking we might have nearly the right number/geographic spread of teams in the Youth league now: Auckland has 4 Youth teams - ACFC, Waitakere, Wanderers Youth and Auckland United; it seems Wellington has 2 - A team being TW youth and B team being Rapa youth. North Island also has Manawatu, Hawkes Bay and Waibop - that's 9; and 3 for South island - Canterbury, Nelson, Otago/Southern. About right I reckon. I was going to say that Canterbury could field a competitive 2nd team - and then remembered the result on the weekend! Oh dear. Any match reports from Palmy?
Kotahitanga. We are one.
Canterbury and Southern drew their U20 clash 1-1 at ASB Chch today. Was a even match so a draw was the right result. Cameron Broxup up front for Canterbury used his exceptional pace to out run his marker a number of times, but could not finish off. Missed seeing who scored for Canterbury, but James McGarry scored with a class finish into the top right corner for Southern. I thought the Canterbury CBs Hamish Smith and Andrew Storer, both very tall, solid lads looked good and assured, as did Keegan Taig at CB , and McGarry up front for Southern. Saying that couldn't honestly say whether any would be able to step up to 1st team at the moment.
