Declan well.... I heard he again made a bit of cock of himself cock yesterday. 'Some guy has popped up and hit something out of the sky'... well to be fair, that some guy is Aaron Clapham and while I don't think he is good enough for the Phoenix, at least i have respect for the fact he is an All Whites and one of the better players in the league. If he said he wanted to play for Waikato, Declan would talk him up like he was the greatest in NZ. I don't think Declan has respect for anyone except Chris Greatholder and while I don't agree with Keith taking a small crack at him on the website, Declan has made his own nest in that respect. Declan really should learn to shut his hole. I also understand he had his kid chasing Aaron around saying 'who are you? what have you ever done' so again, I just see a walking head case. Bruce writes that Waikato were outclassed and performed poorly, Declan sees it that they were just getting back into it when it went 3-0. Really? Change the lens Bono.Well done to Canterbury. Looks like they are playing some good football at the right time to get a good run home.

Spanish club? You are full of bullsh*t. Put the two teamsheets next to each other. We have three Spanish players, and you have eight Australians as well as another six foreigners (including one Spaniard). So where is your Kiwi players or youth academy?

Declan has no respect for anyone?
Peverley saying that he loses money because of a red card is suspicious?
Auckland City players get paid (I admit it is likely but no one has brought any evidence)?
Stop making false assumptions, and give some proof before you talk sh*t.

No probs at all. Insightful considering his position in the team, nothing too offensive in his comments. Does a good wrap from a players perspective.

Of late we've had all sorts of people from around the traps hassling each other over player payments (yes Canty is involved) and it seems a little unnecessary.

Vim

I think again what gets up people kilt is that the charade around it. If you pay your players, just some out and say it rather than tell a load of bollocks around it.

Whether players should be paid (I don't there are many worth it) is a different kettle of fish.

Makes room for their new signing.
He may turn out for Coastal Spirit during the first couple of games in the pre-season tournament.

So I see it's 3pm kick off tomorrow, I'm sure they said midday kickoff at the last game.

Yes had that sorted as well, was 3pm in fixture list then 2pm and at last home game midday was mentioned.
It is a Saturday game and other sport gets in the way when we know the correct time, don't they want a crowd there.

I think it's good to have an input from Joe on this forum.
Canterbury do pay players although not a bag full, enough for a couple of pairs of boots for the majority of players and most I expect would still play for them if no money changed hands.

Wow. Another smashing. 16 goals in 2 games makes for good watching. Must assure us of a semi-final now I reckon.

3pm kick off, he sure did. He totally bossed their back line, and some clinical finishing. Very well played

George was class. He was pretty fired up for the game after Bill Robertson had won the battle with him in the first round. I don't think anyone can argue that he well and truly won the rematch.  Like all strikers he's a confidence player and once the first went in it was like he had goldust on his boots everytime he got the ball he just passed it into the bottom corner. I don't think we could believe it let alone Hawkes Bay. The only mistake he made and I am nitpicking here was missing the easiest chance when he tried to take it around the keeper in the first half. I did think he should have been allowed to take the peno to break the record but you've more chance of getting a dollar off  Tom Schwarz than getting the ball of Claps during a set piece. Thought Hawkes Bay looked up for it and felt we were in for a battle after quarter of an hour, was impressed with a few of their young lads especially the number 11 on the left wing but then the first went in and the heads just dropped. Without getting carried away thought we were excellent all over from Adam who didn't have much to do but pulled out some class saves including another 1 v1 when asked. The defence were 1st to everything, covered each other and even made good fouls when they had to. After a even start I thought we controlled the middle even when we were numbers down and kept the ball moving from left to right and as far as Kamo and George were concerned you really don't have to say anymore. The only dampner is Darren White getting a silly yellow for a handball putting him out of contention for Team Wellington. Have a feeling he might be doing a few doggies this week if Keiths reaction was anything to go by. Shame Wellington pinched the result against Waikato but on a good note it really piles the pressure on for a real humdinger next sunday with two points separating us. With 3 of our last 4 games against playoff rivals the pressures on but is'nt that why we play football. Lets have it

Canterbury beat Otago 2-1 in today's White Ribbon Cup match. Aaron Clapham with a penalty (didn't see it) and a substitute scoring with probably his first touch of the game from a good header. Otago scored after some sloppy passing which resulted in the goalkeeper getting rounded.

One of the funniest moments in football occurred when an Otago defender started giving the abuse back to the crowd and took his eye off the game. His team-mate passed him the ball and it went straight through his legs and out. Pissed myself laughing.

Scorers: Canty 2 (Claps - a trade make pen and Geoff MacIntyre - headed home from a corner) Otago 1 (Ant Hancock - after Cole Peverley gifted him the ball) HT 1 - 0

Good win today, Otago really had nothing and looked worse than last week. Goals to Kamo (2) and an absolute dream free kick over the wall into the top corner from Clapham.

Yes Otago never threaten the Canterbury goal, so much so that I cannot recall Adam Highfield having to make a save during the game. Prattley was good at the back kept 'Big George' in check all day.

Final: Waitakere 1 Canty 2 (Clapham and Slefendorfas) after Waitakere opened the scoring - HT 1 - 1 with the Dragons having wrapped up second place with one game to play. May be O League footy just around the corner.  There were plenty of cards dished out with 7 yellows on the first half, 4 to Canty players with two Waitakere players receiving their second yellow into the second half so Waitakere finished with nine players. OFC here we come, only thing that can keep us out is if Waitak or Wellywood win the grand final and that's not gonna happen as the Dragons continue their superb season by taking it out!
