Beyond awful, the worst I've heard all season. Luckily the game finished on 60 minutes to save us. It gets to a point where it's just embarrassingly bad and this fell into that bracket.
Would imagine the 3-0 result will stand for Olympic, as I doubt NZF will want to foot the bill of a replay.Shambles
Who is this donkey commentating on the Auckland United v Olympic game? Drag him at half time and just play the game without commentary just awful.

They are back out on the pitch, saw the AU socials had Ben Mata and Gavin Hoy brushing off the surface water, then the next video they had the AU keeper blowing it back on with a leaf blower. I heard Jack Henry Sinclair is a project manager they should have put him in charge!
Is it possible to be a Miramar v Olympic final or not mathematically possible?
If Auckland City lose to Coastal Spirit at home it would be. A draw in that game could see it happen too, but there are different permutations with GD. Or if the league still uses H2H over GD like it did prior to this iteration of the league, it could be different again...

Head to head went out about three years ago.
Coastal will want something out of the game in order to avoid the spoon.
Springs *should* win, but their form is now dipping.
Olympic and Miramar can’t afford to play it safe so both teams will want to win or risk missing out completely. I hate to say it but Miramar are edging Olympic on momentum.
If Miramar, City and Springs win it will be a Miramar City final with Springs in 3rd and Olympic in fourth
If Olympic City and Springs win its Olympic and City in the final with Miramar in 3rd and Springs on fourth.
All draws will be a Miramar home final against the Greeks.
I hope an Auckland club doesn't qualify or they'll send it up north like they do every year.
The idea of Coastal getting a shock upset over Auckland City but would be totally awesome. Haven't been to a grand final yet so having one in my backyard would be sick.
EDIT: That said I won't get too ahead of myself, it's very possible that Olympic vs Miramar is a draw and ACFC and Springs both get wins making it an all Auckland affair. Hoping that's not the case though
Be an interesting last round In theory any of the 4 sides can make the final It seems to me that the final will be in Wellington if NZ Football live up to their promise of the top qualifier hosting as it appears that either Miramar or Olympic will finish top. If Miramar or Olympic win the derby then the winner will finish top, If it is a draw then Miramar will finish top unless Auckland City defeat Coastal by 11 goals . I am assuming goal difference is the tie breaker here. The unknown factor is NZ Football statement of "suitable grounds " .Given that David Farrington Park has hosted an O League final then I think that should be okay. Not so sure about wakefield Park. All sorts of combinations are possible but a Wellington side will almost certainly finish top and an all Wellington final is possible but unlikely. Wouldn't trust NZ Football not to make things up as they go along though. Been around too long not to think that !

It can't be an all-Auckland final. Western Springs can't overtake both Wellington teams, and its very unlikely that ACFC would either.

The Auckland teams can only qualify second both if Olympic vs Miramar is a draw and Auckland City beat Coastal Spirit they'd both be on 20 but Miramar has a vastly superior goal difference so basically the Wellington derby is a shootout for top of the table and hosting rights for the final if we have the same regs as the women's comp.
Seems the most likely fixture will be Winner of Olympic-Miramar vs Auckland City because if we're being realistic bottom of the table Coastal is very unlikely to upset Auckland, as awesome as it would be.

I think you'll find that bottom of the table Coastal Spirit beat top of the table Western Springs a week ago. :-)
So strange things can indeed happen. With a travelling fan group heading north (Fuego included) to support the team there could be some extra impetus for this.

City have a great record at Kiwitea Street but I 100% would not rule Coastal Spirit out.
Derek Tieku always plays well against Auckland City especially since his spell with them.
Would love to see Coastal disrupt auckland Citys ambitions. I saw Coastal on their last visit to Auckland and they were a lot better than their league position indicates. Admittedly that was against Auckland United who have been the biggest disappointment in the league. If the capital game is drawn or Olympic win and Auckland doesn't beat coastal then Western Springs come back into play. They play on Sunday so would know what they need to do to overtake Olympics or Miramars goal difference.
Heading down to Wakefield to watch Olympic vs Miramar, heard it's a big rivalry on the local scene. Thankfully I live close so I should make it home in time for the other derby
Unable to send the video but Olympic fans set off fireworks right before the game, after both their goals and after the final whistle. Olympic got a red in the first half after Miramar equalised but they were able to pull ahead regardless.
This means we'll be getting yet another Olympic vs ACFC grand final with Olympic hosting
Olympic were just fantastic today, mentality monsters but also just genuinely dominated the match too.
Miramar had barely had a sniff until they got their equaliser (a brilliant free kick from Ronaldo Munoz), but following the Gulley red had some great momentum end of the first half.
Olympic however regrouped at half time, adjusted their structure and took the game to Miramar in the second half. It was hard to believe they were the team with 10 men at times, and thoroughly deserved their go ahead goal. Miramar, knowing that ACFC were cruising elsewhere, knew they had to find a goal from somewhere and began to have more possession and territory, but Olympic managed the game awesomely and frankly Miramar didn't have a lot of chances.
Great crowd and atmosphere from both sides at Wakefield Park too - hopefully it will be the ground for the Grand Final.
Should be an Olympic win in the Grand Final but stranger things have happened.
Auckland City very lucky to be there Coastal Spirit I feel could have been 5-0 up by half time today the first half was bizarrely one sided in favour of the visitors but they just couldn't score and Nathan Garrow made a few great stops.
"The Navy Blues now march into next week’s NZ National League Grand Final against Wellington Olympic in the capital." "Next stop: Wellington. Saturday's title decider against Olympic awaits" "The win sets up a mouthwatering final in Wellington next week"
Not announced yet but Auckland City indicating the final is in Wellington as expected.
Ok actual discussion time, who do we have winning this?
Surely Auckland will be coming in as favourites? Last time they met Auckland won 1-0 when Olympic had home field advantage, and Auckland seems to win most encounters in general. I will point out again that in Grand finals Olympic is 2-1 but you do have to wonder how much that will help here. That said with how the home crowd was yesterday I reckon the place will be rocking and could act as a 12th man for Olympic

It's close but Olympic at home are the favourites. The 1-0 match last time was very close, and Olympic has had more consistency across the season winning the Chatham Cup and Central League as well as finishing top of the National League.
Like every team in this league, Olympic had a bit of a wobble but I think the last two wins especially yesterday prove that they are mentality monsters who can be cool under pressure.
But Auckland City have hit good form too and yes won the reverse fixture, so while Olympic are favourites, it's very tightly poised.
