Isa Prins with 3 great chances to score early on, including having his penalty attempt saved (he won the pen) and then blasting the GK's save rebound over the bar.
VERY open start here! South Melbourne nearly scored on a breakaway early on, SI got a penalty on VAR and then Feutz had it saved, South Melbourne now with a free kick edge of the box, promises to be much like the first

First game of the day Tahiti Utd vs PNG Hekari has just kicked off 45 minutes late - but I haven't seen any reasons given on the broadcast or on OPL socials as to why?
Edit: Just a Fifa+ app issue, game started on time

Yeah just realised before it was an issue with my Fifa+, it starts at the start of the broadcast rather than going to Live - despite clicking 'Watch Live'
Decent game between Tahiti and Hekari, both definitely had good spells and swathes of momentum, too many chances missed for Tahiti but at least they hold on to the lead this time.
Makes for a VERY close table... a pivotal game tonight between South Island and Bula. SI United will end the round in either 4th or 7th!image.png60.46 KB
A poor but very competitive game between South Island and Bula - both created chances aplenty to score but it's clear they lack confidence at the moment. A bit for both to work on before we're in Honiara in 11 days time.
2nd game for Foord. Made his debut in the 1-1 draw with South Melbourne over in PNG.
Bula and SIU probably the most underwhelming sides in the league so far. Didn't expect the world from them, but respectfully I did expect a lot better showing from the pair of them.
After another action-packed round in Honiara, Solomon Islands, focus now turns to Ba and Suva, with the final round of fixtures in the first phase of the inaugural competition set to determine who will qualify for the Leaders and Challengers Group respectively.
HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and Ba’s Four R Stadium, Govind Park will host 12 Round 5 matches, with the latter also hosting the two rescheduled matches from Round 3, with South Island United facing Auckland FC and South Melbourne FC taking on Tahiti United on April 21. image.png1.06 MB image.png1.02 MB
Shame the Forum was out of action, when the Honiara hub was held.
Easily the best supported hub so far, with some excellent crowds, if swelled alot by school kids getting the day off to go to the National Stadium.
South Island United getting a few 'rent a fans' as their striker Solomons raised striker Rovu Boyers (Aussie dad I think) got a hat trick against PNG Hekari in the first game. Great PR fillip for the hub as he & SIU later visited the Honiara primary school he attended as a kid, with a rock star welcome. Those school kids then turning up to SIU matches. All pretty cool
A bicycle kick to get Bula FC a late comeback win over SIU also got the ground rocking.
Seemed that a number of Vanuatu fans made the trek to Honiara. Hopefully they get their own hub next season (if it's again not a proper H&A season).
Stadium in Ba looks like it will be pretty slick having only been reopened in 2025, after a cyclone 10 years prior.
Hopefully the surfaces at both grounds are decent. The Drua have played a few Super Rugby games in the wet at the ground in Suva. So wouldn't surprise if it's a bumpy track.
After a three-week hiatus for the international window, the Pro League returns for Round 5 in the beautiful Melanesian nation of Fiji.
Known for its crystal-clear waters and coral reefs, warm hospitality, and success on the rugby sevens circuit, Fiji will welcome its nation’s first professional football club – Bula FC – to home soil for the first time, when the fifth round of the Pro League kicks off across two venues on its shores.
Following a slow start to the competition, Bula were the only club to win both of their fixtures in Round 4, including a dramatic win over South Island United – pushing them up into third on the table ahead of their home round.
They’ll play all three of their Round 5 fixtures at the newly refurbished 4R Electrical Govind Park in Ba, traditionally a hotbed for football in Fiji.
The twelve Round 5 fixtures will be split evenly across Ba and HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, with two rescheduled Round 3 fixtures due to be played in Ba at the end of the round – giving all eight clubs at least three games in Fiji.
Venues HFC Bank Stadium in Suva reguarly hosts the Fijian Drua in Super Rugby – Fiji’s only other professional sports club aside from Bula FC.
HFC Bank Stadium Matchdays hosted: 11th, 14th, & 17th April
Constructed in 1951, HFC Bank Stadium in Suva is Fiji’s premier multi-sport venue and has hosted numerous international and national events.
Used for a variety of international rugby league, rugby union, and football events, HFC Bank Stadium holds a capacity of just over 15,000. The venue regularly hosts Fijian Drua games in Super Rugby, and national team fixtures for both rugby union and rugby league.
It also has prior experience with OFC competitions, hosting the two most recent OFC Women’s Nations Cup finals in 2022 and 2025, the OFC Men’s Champions League final in 2015, and six group stage games at the OFC Men’s Nations Cup 2024. 4R Electrical Govind Park has recently re-opened after damage from Cyclone Winston in 2015.
4R Electrical Govind Park Matchdays hosted: 12th, 15th, 18th, & 21st April
Redeveloped in time for the start of a new professional era for football in Oceania, Govind Park in Ba seats just over 13,000 fans and will be hosting its first major international event in over a decade when the Pro League arrives.
Traditionally a prominent venue for football in Fiji, Govind Park formerly hosted multiple national team matches, including OFC qualifying matches for FIFA World Cup 2010, and domestic competitions.
The venue underwent a renovation in 2016 following damage inflicted by tropical Cyclone Winston and only recently re-opened in 2025. It is now improved to include a modern international-standard pitch, four upgraded changing rooms, media, medical and commentary suites built to professional standards, expanded spectator capacity, safer access, and inclusive design.
Known for being a football crazy town, expect fans in Ba to get behind their new professional team, Bula FC, who play all three of their matches at the venue.
As the finals will all be in Auckland, no huge incentive for either AFC II or South Melbourne to top the table, ie finishing top doesn't mean hosting rights for the semis/final.
After a three-week break, the OFC Pro League returns this weekend with the stakes at their highest as the split beckons between the four teams at the top and the bottom.
After Round 5 in Fiji, the competition breaks into a Leaders Group and a Challengers Group, with those games to be played in Auckland.
Starting on Saturday, Fiji will host three full rounds and two catch-up matches, with fixtures spread across the cities of Ba and Suva.
For a nation where the national team rarely plays on home soil, and rugby is the dominant sport, the footballing community will welcome a display of high-level football at home.
HFC Bank Stadium will host the six matches scheduled for Suva, while Govind Park in Ba will stage the other eight matches of the circuit, including all three Bula FC matches.
Big shock later on as Tahiti romp to a 5-1 win over Solomon Kings. Hat-trick from Haewegene and other foreigners Athale and Waranaivalu also scored for Tahiti United. Looking like a real battle to make the top four now! Kings vs Vanuatu on Tuesday could be very fiery
