SM win and the later game between AFC II & SIU, effectively becomes a dead rubber.

Howler from Bula FC's keeper, charging out into no man's land.
SM lead 1-0.

Edit - Bula FC equalise! Hopefully they make a game of it.

Edit 2 - false hope. SM now up 3-1, late first half.

61 mins. SM lead 4-1. Form team in this comp now.

So AFC II to play SIU later today and then again in the semis.

SM likely to play the winner of Bula FC v Vanuatu U (playoff) in the other semi.

Edit - final score 4-2. Krishna a consolation goal.

Bit of rotation by AFC II. Less so by South Island U.
Eli Jones gets a game in goal for Auckland.

Both teams looking for a mental advantage given they will meet again next week in the semis.
SIU with more the barrier to overcome - 'can we beat Auckland'?

Even rotated, Auckland FC are dominating. Hard to see it not being them and SMFC in the final. Oh and there's 1-0.

Eden Park empty once again, and it's two NZ teams... why not somewhere like Kiwitea Street?

Yoo taps in on the rebound and it's 1-1!

Cringe announcement from the announcer... or perhaps more so that you can only hear him and the players and staff.

Turning into a goalfest here. SIU scored to go ahead. Game management non-existent though and Auckland already up 3-2

Well that was frustrating. SIU had it for like 2 seconds before completely falling apart

AFC II too slick. Win comfortably 5-2.

From about the 2nd hub, it's sort of been clear who are the best two teams in this League, and they will likely both cakewalk their semis mid next week.

Still it's the inaugural season. Up to the Island teams especially to improve in 2027. Big ambition of the new comp is about lifting overall standards in OFC after all.

Shame that so many of matches are scheduled midweek. Doesn't help with the crowds.

Kings must win for them, to have any chance of edging Vanuatu U for the playoff game against Bula FC.

Kings win 3-0. Lofthouse a double, other goal Bobby Leslie.
They go to 6 pts with +3 GD.

Vanuatu U (6 pts, +3 GD) who play Tahiti in the later game, now under pressure to at least secure a draw.

2-2 draw the Uniteds, Vanuatu and Tahiti.

TU with a few chances late to win it, and help out the Kings.

So Vanuatu U to play Bula FC in the playoff on Sunday. Winner of that a tough semi against Sth Melb as a reward.
