No real suprises today apart from the result at ellis park.
Looks like the title will go down to the wire.

What are peoples predictions for mondays Chatham cup games.

Caversham 2 v  2 Dn Technical AFC  (Cavy aet )
Northern Hearts    3      v  1 Old Boys (Inv.)                                                                       Southend United   2  v  4 Roslyn Wakari

Caversham 3 Tech 1
from reports i heard, it should have been like this in the league game but cavey fell asleep second half.

Hearts are a handy little side, from reports, all the best timaru players, play for them. Were a bit lucky to get this far beating Braes on spot kicks, but i think they'll get up
Hearts 2 Old Boys 1

Roslyn even though they lost to Spirit, are a class side and should win this comfortably, esdpecially since two Otago sides are gonna be in the National draw (last 16) they'll really want to give the Cup a good go this year
Roslyn 3 Southend 0

Green Island played well against University but still lost. It will need a miracle to to beat mosgiel.
Mosgiel 5 Green Island 1

Apprantly the reffing in Queenstown was dreadful, Dave Langley couldnt ref a midgets game and hes doing the Tech vs Cavvy game 2mrw which is arguably the biggest game of the season so far...oh dear. Whats happened to Roslyn this year? One of the powerhouse clubs has turned into a mid table wreck.

Predictions on the Chatham Games 2mrw?

Iam going

Cavvy 2 Tech 1
Northen Hearts 2 Old Boys 0
Mosgiel 3 Green Island 1
Roslyn 5 Southend 2

Otagofan Cavvy got two long range goals (which were quality i might add) against tech...in the box the tech defense was solid. There previous game was quality to watch.

Sources tell me that Peter O'Leary's referee team (incl. Best) has missed the final 24 which referee games. Best is however, according to a source 5th official for Algeria vs Slovenia.

5th official? does that entail doing the ref and linesman's washing?

tomorrow is supposed to be cold southerlies with showers developing. Could possibly have an effect on the game, but Tonga park can take a bit of rain.

My heart and my head tell me Cavy are gonna come out on top. Should be a ripper of a game.

In essence its a second fourth official, and if an Ar goes down he comes in.

And he gets Tech vs Cavey 2mro, but a firm hand might be a good thing with those two teams.

He managed to miss a blatant studs-up challenge on Tim Horner last time. Just as worthy of a red as Mike Smith's challenge was.

Cavvy adapted to the conditions alot better than tech did

Cavy's quick backline worked bloody well. Tech hardly threatened all game. 3 chances tops. Burgess and Scoullar could both stand to lose a few kilos by the looks of things.

I thought my 3-1 pick was generous to Cavey. Cavey dominated from start to finish and lets be honest Techs goal was an absolute fluke. Wagget just cocked it up, simple as that.

I have to agree conor they both looked really unfit and the wet conditions wouldnt of helped. They will get away with it against other teams in the league but not against Cavy.
Congratulations to Caversham, well deserved and i hope they can go the distance.

Hey guys, Nelson Suburbs have drawn Roslyn Wakari for Chatham Cup Round 3. Can someone share some info on Roslyn Wakari? How are they traveling in the league etc.. Cheers

Roslyn = Dog Muck

Cavy deserved their victory, they have a real shot at the cup if they get a decent draw. Horner & Wild are the only decent players in Caversham's backline by the way, the English lad is quite poor compared to Jenkinson.

I haven't seen too much of the lad so far, has he been playing well in the other games? Pretty hard to judge in those conditions yesterday

Roslyn currently sitting fourth in the prem league with a 4 win 4 loss record and last weekedn lost to Second bottom Spirit FC. They are no where near the Roslyn side which they have been traditionally either second or third in the league and are contain very few of the players that two years ago beat a previously unbeaten Nelson Suberbs at Nelson in the Semi Finals of the South Island Championships.

My pick for this one
Nelson Suberbs 5 Roslyn Wakari 1

Hi Rab,

Northern v. Queenstown in the National Women's Knockout Cup round due to be played this Sunday at 1pm - has this been rescheduled? If so, when, please?

Cheers,

JR

No confirmed date yet. But likely to be on the 20th June, as Suburbs usually play on Sundays, and because it's a 10 hour journey for Roslyn.

100 page - congratulations, I like to think I contributed to some of this endless dribble.

In saying that, I was disappointed on Saturday with the performance of my boys from Tech. No complaints here though, Caversham outclassed the young backline Tech put out. As for the young Englishman playing at the back for Cavvy, I though he went alright. The conditions were tough however he easily accounted for what Tech threw at him - he's young and as he grows in confidence think he would be a good asset for them.

Yea its still on, my dads the coach, so thats a reliable source, although Queenstown will be tired from playing there league fixture on saturday due to a stuff up by FootballSouth in not telling Southland Football about the match. Queesntown has the ability to with there strongest lineup out to play very well. will be very close i presume and im heading down with the Queenstown girls Saturday night and a player to watch out for is young Sahara MacDonald up front. Any body know who Northerns player to watch is.

So Kennedy where do Tech go from here?
Do you honestly  think you guys can reverse this result and take out the premier league?

Its a big ask with the squad Caversham have and with Tim Horner playing out of his skin i just cant see anything else but Caversham crowned Premier league and south Island champions once again.

Tech still have Nick Dale to come back from injury, and Tim Myers may offer something to what is a very young backline. But with youth comes inexperience, and often inconsistency. Will be interesting to see how they fare with the remainder of their FPL season.

Cavy to win the league and make the final of the chatham cup. Tech will finished second, by all accounts they were lucky to get a point out of cavy in the first game.
Roslyn to beat nelson in the next round of the chatham cup

Yeah its defintiely on.

In terms of players to watch, I've refereed that northern team three times this season, and they've got this quick attacking mid/stirker, can't remember a name sorry.

Might see you there then Tom, if i'm not officating, I'll be wearing my big bad, fallon tee.

Northern's best player is Carena Oosterbaan

I hope you enjoy the trip and the weather improves!
