The Player of the Year. Has to be Aaron Burgess. 30 goals in the league and still showed against Bay Olympic. He can compete against the best and score goals. Mind you Roslyn has a great record in Otago Player of the Year awards.Could be because half of the Soccer Otago board are members. Sean Brand springs to mind. Goodness me they must have had too much giggle juice the night they picked that one.

Agreed. Score 30 goals (a heap more than the next best) and your team wins the league - seems like a no brainer to me.

It does but Caversham have won the last 10 and i think only Horner has won it?

Hardly a goal scorer though , Maybe if he was a striker or creative mid.]

just because your team wins the league doesn't matter, Caversham always had a really good collective unit but Burgess' haul of 30 goals from 16 games is outstanding

in saying that i'm surprised a few more cavvy players haven't won it, maybe if Jackson & Fleming were playing the whole season?

Otago Utd financially buggered , whole board set to walk out at AGM , $ 110,000 short , football sth want to step in but dont have the coin , need to find 60 k for entry fee and want to levy each player including juniors $10 to raise funds for up and coming season , So if your a decent sized club it will cost you around 5K ,

What you get for your 5k is probably not alot , except a team in the NZFC !!

Terrible news. Most clubs and players will not be happy with that at all.
I suppose its good that FSouth want to get involved as a team in National League is crucial to the game here, but I shudder when I think of them running Otago Utd., they have done a crap job with the Women's Nat League/U20's League team over the years.

Word on the ground, (pure rumour could be completly false) is that Neil Mac is the new coach.
