And on that point - news just in. Captain da Costa desires to say farewell to his teammates tonight at training, having quit the team. So what does Fridge do? He cancels practice and tells the players they are forbidden to speak to Victor! Haha it's back to the dark ages och aye.

didn't Victor quit?

Justin Flaws looking to have a big season, the veteran is a regular down at Absolute Health and Fitness and can't wait to squeeze into his Tech kit come game 1.

Highly rated by club hierarchy and would go real nice in the Tech midfield but highly unlikely

Tom Jackson with more goals this season (8) than Southern United have points (7)

He has impressed me a lot, pretty much every time I've seen him play. How old is he? Who else has he played for?

Good 2-1 win against a very strong Selwyn United, Mosgiel looking good for top honours this season #moneyinthebank

John Bishop would be happy with that joke. What have Selwyn done to make you think of Mosie being a winner?

Do you think Hamish Cotter would fancy a move to Northern? Murray Devereux is very keen on the youngster

As part of the Selwyn squad that was down in Dunedin for the weekend I thought would offer a couple of points of view for the 2 sides we played. Green Island on Friday evening after driving down that day Selwyn won 3-2. We were pleased with the attitude and effort of our players. Then against Mosgiel the next day we were again very pleased with the effort and only conceded the winner in the last 10 minutes after 170 mins of football. We were missing 3-4 1st team players through unavailability and injury (only had 13 available for Mosgiel game). It was a big improvement on when we were down last year. I think the Green Island team looked better organised, but the Mosgiel team had better players. Full strength for both sides in the Mosgiel game would have been interesting, but Selwyn were very pleased with the weekend

Mosgiel midfield, who will miss out?

Morgan Day

Eder Franchini

Matt Kelly

Rahan Ali

Tech offers nothing this season aside from a couple big kickers and a few sprinters whose shins do most of the work. From the way the tech boys have been playing for southern, they will be a myth by the end of round one.

SPRINKLER signing in.

1.Tom Batty

2.Ferg

3.Cam Attwood

4.Andrew Ridden

5.Tom Connor

6.Morgan

7.Eder

8.Nick Hindson

9.Tom Jackson

10.Peter Rae

11.Regan Coldicott

Any half decent coach would have a line up something like this. Its about time Southern United got a good coach who isn't biased as f***. I've seen little girls with better touches then some of those tech players.

game not at memorial now at the cale

Thats a shame, bobbly memorial filth could be the key to a successfull Southern United. Take the football out of it and and use the kick and chase method that they love. They will struggle on the cale, 2-1 down.

yea could've been key!! Only having 2 wins and a draw from the first 4/5 games and not one point after that is poor

Sources close to home tell me that things are already getting heated between the team at Mosgiel.

From seeing the game today, I think this is valid.

Thoroughly undeserved win for Southern, and probably the worst ASB Premiership game I have ever seen. Unfortunately Jackson is the only player who would get into other sides in this league.

Playing for who? Waikato need a partner to Marquez, and Canty have no strikers but that's 3/9 teams... That's actually not saying too much really.

Grumpy old bastard alert

Thought it was a great game to watch. A couple strong performances from Jackson, Ridden, Joy, Howard, Chile kid in the middle. Finish the season off strong next week with a victory

Honestly there have been games when he's gotten a decent amount of service and looked better than any other ASBP centre forward I've seen this season, except perhaps Marquez's performance against WeeNix, and I haven't seen Boyd play for WeeNix. Gwyther and Smith for TW are the only others I've seen play at a consistently high level.
