Have heard it was his hamstring that went snap, not his bone. Anyone know if it was the same leg he did at the start of the year? Hopefully he'll be back for SU, would like to see him and Jackson (provided he wants to) play together.

Have also heard It was the same leg he got his surgery on in earlier in year,  just outstretched his leg and went ping, slight hammy strain. He won't be out long! Will yah reg?

Cavy get a scare from Mosgiel before scoring an 87th minute winner 2-1.

Tech too good for Otago University in 3-0 win.

Supposedly both TJ and RC are not playing this summer, would have though Jackson would have been chomping at the bit to get back into it all. Hopefully Fridgey can change their minds. Is Tom Connor putting his hand up this year?

Southern United pre season having to take a  break for the Alex7s.

Good to see a coach that is thinking about more than himself and his own agenda.

Who is going to Alex7s and in what team?

After the pre season game v Canterbury United would be my guess seeing as SU haven't had a training run yet.

S U v C U  being played in Timaru.

Right lets give this page a shake up. It's been too quiet for too long - I guess that's what happens when Roslyn and Mosgiel do so poorly along with some of our more frequent posters heading off shore though.

How is this United team shaping up? I hear there is a certain foreign player heading to these shores......

Anyone have any tips on the potential Southern Squad? Offshore players? Most of the team will be made up of Caversham and Dunedin Technical players anyway. If I was The Scottish Mike Fridge I would be taking Collier, Jackson, Ferguson, Little, Ridden, Ryder and maybe one other? from Dunedin Technical Batty, Joy, McBride, McLennan, McCormack, Howard + another?

Anyone know of other names who could play? Not a bad nucleus

Heard from a bird that De Costa has booked flights to graise Dunedin shores over the summer? Could be a pretty good asset in that midfield! First training at Logan park I heard. What are people's thoughts on rickerby playing up front with McCormick and Jackson? Strongest positions for SU will be speed up front??

Agreed, good post. But whats the definition of Battlers and Pretenders?

Are the Battlers those who put in maximal effort in an attempt to make up for the lack of skill?

Are Pretenders those who think they are good but just aren't?

IMO Battlers would be clear favourites at $1.37, Pretenders at $6.50

Golden Oldies XI:

Steve Henderson

Mike Smith, Andrew Douglas, Michael Abbott, Darren Hart

Tim Cook, Richard Smith, Justin Flaws

Brad Scott, Aaron Burgess, Phill Kelly (c)

Could the Golden Oldies of the Football South Premier League take down The Battlers or The Pretenders?
