Seriously good game yesterday.Restored my faith in football after the Liverpool match!!

TW very unlucky not to win, Canterbury keeper made some amazing saves. Although Canty also hit the post near the end. Money well spent!

Henry Farodo was a bit quiet and Louis Fenton was my man of the match. TW also sporting a new centre back?

You mean Johnny Raj?

I though Fa'rodo was the catalyst for the late spur in the last 15 minutes during which the equaliser was scored, he was one player able to find space in the attacking third during this time against the Canterbury bus.

Fenton was very good in the first half (will be even better when he learns to get his head up when going on his runs to see other options as they open up for him, and also could have been more decisive at times in the first half), but felt a positional change in the second didn't quite suit him. Still scored a good goal though.

You mean Johnny Raj....... That's it. Where is he from?

If the team can put away some chances (Galbraith missed the easy header) they will challenge any team huh? Tough away game vs Waitak up next though. Lucas and Fenton can beat their man everytime huh?

From Auckland I think.

Yeah, I think we may end up ruing the missed opportunities over the last two home games. But like the way the team is playing though (well, for most part).

Help!!!

We have a couple of lads in the Team Wellington squad who need some part time work. The boys looking for work are good reliable guys and will do just about anything asked.

Please email shaun@tw.org.nz if you can assist.

Cheers.

Thought you guys played well on sunday but as a Canterbury player we were just as disappointed as you to not come away with 3pts. The first half your movement and passing was excellent but you just didn't create to many scoring chances. I was surprised at half time that Fleming was subbed because I thought he was playing well but he seemed to be the victim of the few chances created. The second half it was a bit easier to defend because it was obvious that the ball was going to the big lad. We knew we were'nt going to win any headers so we just concentrated on trying to put him off and picking up the 2nd ball. Ironically this was creating a lot more chances on goal for you. It obviously looked different on the line judging by the reports but I actually thought we were handling it fine and I really didn't think you would score but the young lad Fenton was a menace all day and it was a tired jump from our left back to allow him in to get his just rewards. Thought it was a penalty and I thought we had a good shout just before that. We were probably guilty of sitting to deep to combat the pace of Fenton, Lucas and Faroudo which meant when the ball went forward big George got no support. The disallowed goal I could'nt comment because I was breathing out my backside on the half way line but the liner got his flag up early so he seemed confident. Lastly Russells shot against the post, 9 times out of 10 he puts that away and then its 2-0 and game over but alas it was not to be. The race for 2nd is certainly hotting up, good luck against Waitak but a draw would probably suit us.

Its disappointing that one of you guys didn't get the maximum 3. I don't mind Waitakere but it would be good to see a different team in the O League. It would be interesting what it does for the player landscape too.

Can't really disagree with anything you say, I pretty much saw the game in similar terms.

On the disallowed goal, from where I was it looked an absolutely spot-on decision.

Must say it's a shame this could not have coincided with Phoenix first play off match (if indeed it was Sunday the 1st) so it could have been a curtain raiser before it.  Could have shared hire costs of the stadium.  I dunno how these things work but was a thought anyway.

I'm just a short walk I think, if Newtown park is the thing with an oval around it.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

How much is entry? Still $10? And is there much parking at Newtown Park?

This is my first TeeDubs game and first time at Newtown Park.

Yes, a tenner.  Parking dodgy.  Try the back car park above 2, but if it's a fine day and people pack the zoo you may need to stroll a little.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
