Anyone shed any light on what's going on at the TeeDubs?

I am told that a number of players have declined to play O-League, including a bunch of the (expensive) out of town players.

TW have gone cap-in-hand to Cap Footy asking winter clubs to chip in so they can replace those players?

If true, surely anyone they're recruiting at this late stage will hold them to ransom and make a fortune?

Where's all the money from the CWC gone?

I am told the facts above are wrong. The O-League has at least doubled in duration putting extreme pressure on players to get out of work commitments. Cap F/B board approached TW with suggestions of help. The out of town players came to TW for the O-league so are not leaving. Some fact checking would be in order.

I think fact checking is what I just did?

Good to know though. I appreciate getting people to take two (?) weeks off work to head to the islands to play footy wouldn't be easy. You'd hope those expectations were set up front though.

How come that French lad Bechar didn't play against Waitak?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Potentially 18 days.

Some players were left at home for last match.

But you of all people know the Media Troll this fan site for an easy story. And I'm sure you have fielded a few calls. Would it not be in Footballs best interests to ring/email the source first. Rather than rely on an retired old fart volunteer to comment. Just home from the Carlsberg Tshirts Challenge in supprt of the WGTN Phoenix. Hick hick - good night #Lads

ACFC lost Bale for that reason.

There's a rule where you can sign a player outside the transfer window if you lose a player to a professional team. Musa is probably the one that triggers that.

For me, you should play with the team you qualified with.

If a team loses players to injury and suspension and a player is asked to come in and replace them they are doing a favour for that team.

Thier is an allowance for injury cover this happened with a keeper last season. He was from a knocked out team as well. Think he almost cost TW the game

is Iffy playing OLeague?

Cheers to the players and team for the season.

Thought the team had grooved a style of play that was efficient, with the players we had, and was bringing good results, obviously fell apart some what.

Players who came in later in the season appeared as mercenaries (if that's an appropriate description, considering the league).

Ifill would be more believable posturing as a hat stand than a footballer these days.

If something credible can be pulled together for the O league, would be hesitant to give a prediction with optimism.

Hey Yellowsite what do you mean appeared to be mercenaries I saw the game today and apart from Myers two pens the rest were good I would agree about Ifill though. That's what football is about bringing in players its done all around the world at least TWs are Kiwis. I thought Lovemore HBU and Hogg TW, both in your terms mercenaries.

This has been covered before but do believe it warrants been brought up again. I am a avid football fan and only want our teams to do well but I was in a strange position on Sunday watching the Team Wellington game.

I was there to support T/W and hoping they would make it through to the final but looking at the squad that took the field their was only 3 players that played their winter football in Wellington - Henry, Louis and Cole and the subs that played there was only Adam.

It does get you thinking about how is this a Team from Wellington and how does this help develop our local players, how much does this all cost flying in players from out of the region? How do you expect crouds to turn to support our team?

Yes I know there is a bigger picture with the O league but strongly believe there should be a limit on how many non locals you can have in your match day squad.

Not sure if this is across all franchises or just ours? Just my thoughts!

You could probably include Ifill as well but your point stands.

Personally I thought it was a disgraceful display behaviourwise.  The whining and swearing and abuse of the officials and each other was dreadful. It was an awful advert for the ASB Premiership which is a shame as with that many goals it should be remembered for that rather the likes of Tinsley (he was by no means the only one) F'ing and blinding and chasing after the officals to whine at them.

It is a blight on the game across all levels and FIFA needs to get referees to start doing something about it.

Interesting situation for the final, will the TW Supporters be cheering for City so they get O league next year?

Come from behind (0 - 1) win (3 - 2) to ACFC last time they played HBU at Kiwitea. Could be tense.

While they were deserving of a win yesterday, the whining, sooking and theatrics I have seen from them all three times has reduced the chance of me cheering them on.

Surely Hawkes Bay are already in the 'o' league next year! Assuming the rules don't change and two teams still go through then it would be the league winners (ACFC) and Grand Final winners. If the winners of the grand final and league are the same (possibly ACFC) then the grand final losers would take the second place. I don't think there is anything for second in the league....
