Well it wasn't the BAY ARMY 'cause they didn't exist till this  last season.

I'm not talking about what may or may not have happened 3 or 4 years ago ( incidently I don't condon it) I'm on about the clear implication YOU are making that it was us,the Bay Army, that were making these chants.Iwould suggest that none of us were  even at that ist home game, let alone have banded together and call ourselves 'BAY ARMY  If you aren't man enough to retract that earlier reference, then you remain a jumped up dog turd , and a disgrace to human decency. If you do, I'll buy you a beer when you come down for a thrashing  with your fellow JAFAs .

What I heard was that he was approached by Otago but cos of his lovestruck girlfriend he has to go to Welly to be near hear for the summer.

The local strikers Otago have signed all scored more goals than him in the local league anyway. I think Burgess scored 3 goals to every 1 he scored for the season at Tech. Jackson scored a heap for Cavy as well, not that jackson is quite in that league yet. Brand was the Otago local player of the year I think. Although from what I hear that was a joke. 10 goals as a striker when Jackson got 19 and Burgess about 30.

Interesting prospect for Otago this year will be Rhys Henderson, Cavy player of the year and will fit in well as right back I presume

Brand what a joke !! , he cant even see straight , He will soon get frustrated we he realises that he is not even close to the qulaity of player around him , cant see him getting much game time , I witnessed at a recent training session him and phelan having a barny after he felt phelan was singling him out for errors in his technique , Im player of the year he quoted , not a great start to his first season at OU

yeah I agree brand is a joke, but obviously you must be an Otago player/official if you have been at training. How is the team looking/training, any imports arrived yet? Any insights would be great.

Due to arrive just prior to the season starting are  a scotts boy , a english chap and a couple of germans , according to a board member there is a defender two strikers and a midfield , so it should complement what OU already has , minus a few of course , unsure wheather they will play in opening game against TW as they will only arrive a day or so before kick off , With the shorter season it may well play into Otago's hands , here's a quote from training the other week " Enjoy celebrating after a goal lads cos we'll be doing a bit of that this season "

everythig i have heard out of the lads in the otago camp is very positive so hopefully a good season will follow. Phelan the coach would have made that earlier quote bout the goals he talks as much rubbish as anyone at training besides maye burgess in the current sqaud i cant see where the goals may come from certainly not brand or jackson hopeully dugdale and the imports can help. phelan is abpoting a more laid back approach this season but will be interesting to see hoe he reacts if things dont go their way again.
Big shame about the games being out at sunnyvale these facilities are not even close to NZFC standard..no seats..rubbish changing rooms and will be difficult to charge ppl to get in as well as travelling out there

From what I've heard (from the fever) I'm resonably optmistic about the season ahead.

But in saying that I've being optimistic about OU, Volts, Highlanders and Otago for the last three years and only once has my optimism paid off.

I love it how quickly people love to hop on the racism bandwagon, when no such thing has ever existed in the bay army before. If you met us you would realise that we are not the kind of people to promote that, nor do I agree with anyone that uses it. Happyted, what little intelligence you do have should tell you to not go around dragging others names through the mud before you have any solid evidence to back it up.....utter birdbrain

Please, racist TRANSFERS only...not allegedly-racist-and-non-existent-supporters

Start a racism thread (or better yet join in on one) in 'off topic' if you're that offended, (either way)...

Another Brazilian to Waitak - Maybe we should start an "Amateurism" thread.

Roddy as assistant.

...and Marco !  Genius.  Hope Marco get's some game time.  Haven't seen him play since he used to run rings around us as a 6 or 7yo at Ellis St. Indoor.

Forza Waikato (except when they play TW).

Marco has turned into a Fantastic young player. He spent time at werder bremen this year with wyntons son caleb and a has had a couple of stints in Chile and is also available for their u17 team.. I also hope he gets some game time this year as he is a rare talent in NZ

Yeah, I was chatting to Roddy when he was down for a Phoenix match last year and they were trying to work out where Marco's future lies.  I see Caleb has ended up in the regional leagues in Germany.

I hope Marco gets a real chance and Waikato in it's current state may be the best spot for an U-19 player to make his mark... likewise the Robsled and Ben Hunt.
