Shame Whitey won't be playing when Youngheart come to town next weekend, would have been nice to see him playing against the Dragons on Sunday. Haven't seen him play for a few seasons, would've been interesting to see how he's developed.
I would imagine losing him won't help the cause for Manawatu.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Hopefully the midweek win over Phoenix reserves gave the team a bit of confidence. They played some nice football at times. Hard to believe they are bottom of the league and only scored 1 goal. Away to Auckland City this weekend.

In the same weekend, I decided not to go to Nix v Jets game and Manawatu's thrashing of Waikato. As Napoleon Dynamite would say "What an idiot!!"

Are you going to the match tomorrow Gooner or can we expect another win?
The "Over The Hill YoungHeart Supporters Club" will be maintaining the usual ritual of lunch and a couple of beers at the Rose & Crown pre-match and then walk to Memorial Park for the game.

Yep, I'll be there. Might need a big effort from the boys for a win today. No Colin Falvey.

2-3 loss. Probably a fair result. Manawatu had their moments and Phil Imray made some brilliant point blank saves. Considering Wellington are 2nd, we weren't completely embarassed. Will hopefully pick up a few more wins before the end of the season.

Zizou, was that you with the retro QPR top? I was sitting with Stefan, Oska and Robb.

Yep Come On You R's!!!! Not so sure about the result - I thought we deserved a draw. We made a hat full of good scoring chances. The difference was that Wellington scored theirs. The lads played well and Bob must be pleased to see some of the young guys beginning to find their feet at this level. Entertaining match with plenty of goal mouth action.
Good to see the Wellie boys up here. Hope to return the favour later on.

100 people in attendance??? is that it??? or was that a typo on the nzfc site.

It wasn't a huge crowd but certainly more than 100. A lot of people came in about 10 minutes into the game when it was free. Tight wads It was only a gold coin entry anyway and you got a free programme.

Not much to post about on here after a good old thrashing. Although I see that Hayne has b*ggered off again.

Has he gone already? To be honest, he hasn't looked that flash for us this year anyway. A few years ago, I would have said he might have almost been A-League standard but not anymore.

He was supposed to be going to Aussie. Can't remember if it was Queensland or Victorian league.

Ah, good to see some things never change. Still a reschedule of YoungHeart vs Auckland to a Wednesday night probably won't affect the attendance much.
G4L - Won't know if I can make it till closer to the time.

You guys had an awful first 20 and an awful last 10. The rest of the time you were either even or better than Otago.

The prodigal sons return has finally happened! Watch this space! Manawatu could be a serious threat this coming season if Stu has his way!

But will he get the expense account budget needed to cover good players expenses as Auckland clubs do. I am lead to beleivethe  Auckland clubs players have bigger expenses than the other clubs down country so get the better players who look to spend money on the high Auckland expenes.

This is no surprise and is a fairly common pre-season occurence over previous years.

Don't we all  On a serious note fans will be always upset when players leave but you can't say that he has'nt done his time at Manawatu.

Went to the game and was impressed with the Quakers or disappointed with the Greenies, I wasnt too sure at the end of the game.
The Cantabs were a step above Manawatu. The midfield for Manawatu struggled and put themselves under immense pressure from having a poor first touch. The Cantabs third goal was due to a heavy touch by a Manawatu player while in the Cantabs half. To rub salt in the wounds he even got booked after the Cantabs had scored.
Centre Back from Wellington looks allright on the ball but does lack pace for this level, Dreadlocks allright in the backs but poor in midfield. Short baldy heavy touch. Stroppy Olympic import will have a few cards by the end of the season.
Early days but does look like a long season for YHM.

Will YoungHeart Manawatu win a game this season after losing out to Hawkes Bay today, 5 - nil in their White Ribbon Cup game.

Jamie O'Conner missed a penalty and later in game received a red card. Even Hawkes Bays fans say the sending off was harsh

When you are down at the bottom everything seems to go against. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Insolvency was staring the YoungHeart Manawatu football franchise in the face at the start of this season.

Now Neil Perry, who picked up the short straw of the chairmanship two weeks before the season began, reports that YoungHeart is out of the financial woods. It took savings of more than $50,000 to right the capsize and the pain has been reflected in the national league team's winless season.

They simply stopped buying things they couldn't afford, ran the tightest of ships and procured enough sponsorship and trust funds to get by, just.

Coach Stu Jacobs has also just signed on for another season so YoungHeart survives good news for Manawatu.

Easy to suck it up and do that in a league with no relegation.

Fuck this stupid game
