Can anyone shed some light on our team formation this season? Particularly who is playing in defence. Am I correct in thinking it's a back four with Yackson and Weissenfeldt as the CDs? If so, who are the fullbacks?

Looking forward to the match tomorrow. Great to be back at Memorial Park. Anyone heading to the Rose & Crown pre-match?

Full page ad in todays Standard with this seasons draw. Will be interesting to see what crowd we get as even though its free, a lot of people will be busy on a Saturday afternoon. Especially if its a nice day.
I'll be there though no doubt wearing one of my Arsenal shirts. Was going to wear my Retro Ricki but probably not a good idea considering we're playing Welly. Might get mistaken for the opposition

Must have been psyching out the opposition as both played and scored all the goals between them!

A solid performance from YHM. Some way to erasing last season's capitulation. A strong start but then it all got a bit scrappy. Two good first half goals, particularly the 2nd - great pass, great dumby, great run by Cowan and a great finish! Looked far more up for it than TW. Still plenty to work on but then that's to be expected at this early stage. A good team performance with everyone contributing in some form. Seem to have addressed my concerns from last season. Solid and organised at the back (which may compensate for a lack of pace?). Closed down quickly in midfield (something TW exploited ruthlessly last season). Used width (Hallelujah!!!!!!!) Mobile and quick up front.
I may be eating my words already. I thought we would struggle without Robbo and Mouse but Raf brings that valuable experience (how old is he?) and Jason Hayne adds a dimension that wasn't evident last season.
If anyone had said we'd be on 6 points and not conceeded a goal at this stage I wouldn't have believed them.

Oh and Accy Stan will be delighted to hear that the "Green Calm" prevailed again. I don't care - you guys win the singing and we'll take the 3 points thanks very much.

Damn, looks suspiciously like im not gunna see a YH game till January!

Me and Willy are thinking an away trip to Hawkes Bay next February... When we went a few seasons ago they let us catch the bus with the team, does anyone know if we could do that again?

Brilliant game though Wellington got right back into it in the 2nd half. Would have been interesting to see how they would have gone with 11 men.
1st half from Manawatu was like watching the team from a few seasons ago. Slick one touch passing in the midfield and plenty of shots on goal.
The back four look solid and Pablo Jackson looks like a totally different player. Fin Milne had a fantastic game and De Gregorio added some bite in the midfield and was dominant in the air.
Great crowd too.

Should be a good challenge for the lads at Sunnyvale. No Park Sung-Bae which is a shame as he looks to be the ideal foil for Gonzo (In much the same way as Hayden Laird and Totori complemented each other a couple of seasons ago). He's already shown more than poor old Osea did in a whole season!
3-1 Manawatu!!

Otago 2 YoungHeart 3!!

Phew!!! That was hard work. Sounds like a rip-snorter of a match. The lads left it pretty late to score their goals. Hayne is on 5 now (the white Benji ?!!) Interesting to see what players do with consistent playing time instead of being stuck on the bench. What the heck have Waitak done to Benji - he only seems to be half the player he was for us before heading to the big smoke.

Also interesting to see that Shin started - I thought it would have been Gustavo.

Its good to hear Hayne scoring more and more. Is he playing up front or in a wide position?

He's playing wide on the right. Chettleburgh is on the other wing.

Realistically we should get a win this weekend. However, the HB players won't want to endure a bus ride back to the Bay with Gouldie if they play as badly as they did against TWelly. Good to see Park back from injury, I'll be interested to see how our defence goes. I thought they played pretty well against Wellington but only time will tell.

Can't say I'm gutted. It's always great to win the derby but we didn't play particularly well in spite of having plenty of possession and shots. How HB lost to Team Welly last week is beyond me. Lucky that other results went our way this weekend.

We didn't cope well with HBs stifling tactics last weekend. Expect a similar approach from Waikato. We really need to maximise the points from these games if we are going to seriously challenge the Jafas. Holloway out will make it difficult for Waikato.
Can WFC contain Hayne? Or for that matter Chettleburgh? Nieres and Park must be due to score - let's hope it happens this match. It would be a great confidence booster for both of them.

No offence to you personally Zizou but 'mon the tu' hardly strikes of intelligence or creativity - more the grunting of a front row forward or for the intellectually challenged uni student from Massey, a salute to the local beer spelt wrong (TUi)

Or a Scotsman saying come on you two....
