Supplementary rules:

13. If your ball comes among watter, or any wattery filth, you are at liberty to take out your ball and bringing it behind the hazard and you may play it with any club and allow your adversary a stroke for so getting out your ball.

15. If your balls be found anywhere touching one another you are to lift the first ball till you play the last.

16. If you should lose your ball, by its being taken up, or any other way, you are to drop another ball from the lost position and allow your adversary a stroke for the misfortune.

I know there are contact details for the Auckland team one page back but I'm a lazy bastard.

Someone tell me how numbers are looking for the Auckland team (please), reason being, I had a wisdom out today, shouldn't run for 24 hours and think Saturday morning could be pushing it but if the Auckland team needs the numbers, I'll man up.

Just keep the elbows down please Welli lads. News, I'll buy you a donut if you don't hurt me.

Just cleaned the 7-year-old mud off my boots ready for the trip up tomorrow. Excite.

Reckon boots are essential? Not that keen on packing them. Limited space for carry on.

Its an astro turf.... Sandshoes would do the job.

It's astro turf? How the hell did I not find this out earlier... Lols. Guess I won't be needing my boots then.

A message from our Ref (Chris):

Saw a post in the forum about rules so thought I would give you my thoughts (some of light hearted naturally). It can be added to/altered but I thought at least a good place to start. You can feel free to mention my name as well as refereeing it and post what you like from this.

1: Anyone that wellies the ball over a fence or out of the ground has to go get it themselves. You cannot pay someone to get it for you.

2: Subs can be rolling but made only at corners, goal kicks, throw ins. Just on and off as you will.

3: No offsides higher than the 18y line instead of half way. Just opens the play up a bit more. It also means there are no reliance on linesman (cause that is never a fun job). I will be able to get around the pitch fine and cover balls in and out of play anyway.

4: A bit of ‘honesty rules’ never hurt anyone.

5: 1 rule for all genders.

6: I’m gonna protect everyone the best I can in terms of fouls and cards will be shown if you earn them (or not perhaps). If you knock someone down, pick them up. If you accidentally injure or hurt someone, nothing wrong with helping the person out/up. It’s a bit of fun and we all want to enjoy the rest of the day as one team of ‘Phoenix supporters’ and make it to work Monday. With that in mind, anyone that gets agro can take a 5 minute breather. Non-negotiable. Anyone deliberately hurting someone else – instant shower pass. Non-negotiable.

7: Streakers must do a mandatory cartwheel through middle of the pitch.

8: Anyone that fancies themselves as a 'managerial' type person must name that manager they are impersonating and also use the appropriate accent (i.e. If you think you are Ferguson, then you speak with a Scottish accent for the game)

9: In the event of a draw which will go to penalties, each playing member (to an equal amount both sides) must take a kick.

10: Your teams final score is decided as Goals scored - (2* red card total) - (yellow card total). i.e. 5 goals scored, 1 red and 2 yellows leave you a score of 1.

11: If you are on the losing side, you have to shout a member from the other side a beer at some point during the day. The winning 'region' have the right to rub it in until the next match.

12: Any person that has a problem with referees decision are invited to take the whistle and do better. Referee will take a bit of stick from players, be prepared to receive it back. Being a Taranaki raised lad, there will be no correspondence entered into regarding ‘hometown bias’. Also any bribery and corruption of the referee is welcome. Currency is Corona, pies and bourbon in that order.

13: Respect the rules of the ground and leave it as we find it. The name of Yellow Fever and Wellington Phoenix that can be tarnished by our actions. If there are kids within earshot, language should be mindful.

14: Any racist language or actions will be resolved by everyone shaking hands.  If racism still persists a cup of tea should be considered.

I may have one extra pair of moulded boots... depending on what is acceptable, and a fairly old pair of touch shoes which should do the job. Will have to check on the day what boots are acceptable. Also 2 extra pairs of shin pads.

Getting close to the day! :D

I know at least 5 of us :P michaelme is bringing some mates along. I know there are a few others on here that have said they're coming, so should have a full team :) But since we haven't had absolute confirmed number... if you could stick it out, or run the line if we are short there and you don't want to overdo it :)

Sweet. This is the first game of football I have played in quite a few years, so I've forgotten some of the terminology.

Yes.

This may have already been mentioned, but last I heard, you had to have molded studs. Sorry if that's stating the obvious for regular turf users.

Tried that through official channels... but if you happen to know anyone that would be there right now and can txt/call them to get them to try directly with the players... that would likely have more pull! :)

Cool, I'm still taking the lazy bastard route. A little sore, plus took work off today. Will come to watch, but with gear packed should extra numbers be needed.
