im really perplexed about the selling of stoch. we loan him out, he plays well, gets better, wins the dutch league, surely the next step isnt sell him to a turkish club ffs

as for joe cole, i would much prefer to see him go to tottenham, no real reasoning behind that.

i think the right move for ballack would be to head to wolfsburg

With reference to earlier postings about the new away and 3rd kits for 2010/11, the release dates are as follows:

* Away - 5th August
* 3rd - 26th August

Benayoun is finally officially a blue. 5m is the fee mentioned.

jeez the 5th is a while to wait.

benayoun, just not sold on him at all. but still i will be behind him 100%

He's kwalitee. A really good player to have in the squad. Was crucial for us in our late charge for the title a couple of seasons ago.
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
yea saw him a few times and he seemed good, but that may have just been in comparison to a poor liverpool team.

well with ballack and cole gone there is a bit more room to accomadate him so we will see.

first pre season game is 17th july vs palace, cant wait already

got some interesting games pre season against eintracht frankfurt and hamburg i think.

We weren't poor then! We came 2nd!

yea should clarify, cant really remember how he played when you came 2nd but talking on last year he seemed ok. he was good when we visited anfield.

hopefully he slots into the squad nicely and helps win some trophies

over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Ah, fair enough. Yeah. I think he'll be a useful squad player for you.

We also have Ajax away on Friday 23rd July which should be a decent game.

It looks very much as though we're also signing Raul Meireles from Porto this week for around 13m. Porto are my second team and I've seen him play quite a bit. I think he'll do a good job for us if we do get him.

As for Benayoun, he's the one player that has constantly been a thorn in our side for Liverpool under Benitez. I'd certainly rather have inside the tent spitting out than outside the tent spitting in. I think he'll be more of a squad player but he'll get plenty of playing time for us. Not bad for 5m-6.5m in today's market.

Paying $200k a week for Torres is a crime.
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
On current form, I'd have to agree with that. However, I'm doubtful the move will go through after he crocked his hamstring again yesterday. There's no way Roman will shell out 50m-odd for an injured player.

One piece of transfer news that looks set to go ahead is Bruno Alves from Porto who will replace Ricardo Carvalho. Riccy is currently talking to Inter. It'll be tragic to see him go but Alves is a seriously quality centre-half.

There's also talk of Fabio Coentrao from Benfica in to replace Ashley Cole at left-back. Cole is expected to go to Real before the season begins. Again, another good signing if it happens.

as ive said before if riccy is fit and ready to play then im sure we can get another quality year out of him. as for ashley, well i really hope we keep him

darn looks as though alex is out for a month aswell.

in other news vuvuzelas have been banned from the bridge

3-1 loss to Ajax. Ross Turnbull looks to have blown his chance of being number 1 while Cech is out.

was nowhere near our full strength team but a dissapointing result none the less.

looks as though drogba will miss the start of the season so thats a real pain, still talk on cole leaving to madrid aswell which is pissing me off. i think carvalho will leave to madrid also.

will mean we may be stretched at the back come the start of the season with the injury to alex.

Talk of David Luiz coming in though..
