Would be great to win the whole thing. Similar to the 08/09 campaign when Scolari was sacked mid season and we went on to win the cup. Certainly gives you something to smile about when looking back on the season.

Stoke tonight. If we lose and the Arse win we will be all but out of contention for 4th.
So a biggy then.

STOKEd with the 3 points.
Thought we were well deserving of the points, even if we did struggle to make clear cut goal scoring chances. We dominated possession but just couldn't quite get it together in the final 3rd.
Was kind of an odd starting lineup, no Sturridge or Mata.
Ricardo Fuller, what a knob. That stomp on Ivanovic was just stupid, and his reaction was just as worse. What a dick.

Huge game tomorrow. And i actually get to see it live, which is rare for a ucl game given the hours i work. Have taken 5 days off the test in hamilton and that has coincided nicely with this game

Huge win!!!!Am so stoked with that. Hopefully enough to get the season back on track.

I only caught the first 40, Chelsea did not look like they had it, love me a surprise.
We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Absolutely stoked with that win.
A quarter final tie at home vs Leicester is certainly a winnable tie.

John Terry: "players have no power here". Watches John Terry bark orders at the team from the bench, over-ruling RDM.

Just watched the Napoli game last night, what a match! Exciting stuff, the guys seem to have their mojo back with DiMatteo

Good performance, but this is the kind of fixture you'd expect the team to be up for. We'll see if there's a real turn-around over the next couple of weeks.

f**king awesome!!! Really happy with that win and great to see Torres score again. Into the semis now where we will face the winner of the Tottenham v Bolton match when they meet again.
Great start under Di Matteo too, 4 from 4

Torres scores? 2012? Must be time to max out the credit cards.

Hope Torres can stick to this and keep his head up against the bigger teams.
What do you guys think about the Champions League draw? Can't say I've seen Benefica play before

Chelsea rumours
"According to today's Daily Mail, Chelsea are considering sacking the Borussia Dortmund manager Jrgen Klopp approximately a year from now. Klopp, until now a fine young manager with reasonable hopes for the future, could yet find himself sucked into the moronic cartoon-operetta of Chelsea managerdom should Pep Guardiola and Jos Mourinho prove unwilling to work under John Terry next season. Klopp is 44. He won the Bundesliga with Dortmund last season. He wears glasses and runs a club that exists happily within Germany's strict no despot-oligarchs rules and which regularly produces its own players under the German academy system. On the other hand he could come to England and become a walking headline stooge, with far too many obvious Klopp Flop, Klopp's Kop Shock, Clip Klopp Clip Klopp opportunities for comfort."

That is quite humerous, ill admit.
Huge few days for us now, playing Man City tomorrow then Tottenham on the weekend.

How do you Chelsea fans feel about Di Matteo? It seems all the Chelsea fans I know want him to stay on as permanent manager next season.

bugger. Not looking good. absolutely MUST beat spurs this weekend. Doesn't help that they've got a relatively cruisey run after our match

Yes a win against Tottenham HAS to happen if we are to remain in with a shot at the top 4. 2 points back with 8 to go is doable, 8 points is not.

Well that about does it as far as Champions League football goes. 5 points is a fair bit to claw back with only 8 games to go, especially considering the run in Spurs have when compared to ours.
Result aside i thought it was actually a pretty good game, first half was a bit flat but it looked as though there was a goal coming from either side. Both teams can feel a bit unlucky as far as shots go, with Mata hitting the post with a beautiful freekick and Bale hitting the post with a header. Also Cech making a great save and Cole and Cahill making last ditch saves.
Looking forward now to Benfica midweek.

I believe it can be done.

Yeah we clawed back far more points from them with less games.

See you next at Wembley (Bolton - don't spoil it for us, you owe us this game).

I was thinking, what would have happened with that game if say you had been winning when Muamba collapsed?

Absolutely delighted with that win. Good chance at making the semi final stage now which would be fantastic given how this season has gone.

couldn't believe the lineup for the game against benefica, worked a treat though!

Watched the Benfica game last night. Really nice work from Rami and then Torres for the goal. The work Torres does off the ball and his ability to set up his team mates really is under rated. Yes it would be nice if he scored more goals but i still feel he will come right in that department. For now though im happy with what im seeing from him.

Pretty awesome win that, haven't won at villa park for a few years now. Much like the Phoenix game i thought we had f**ked it up after throwing the 2-0 lead away. But, also like the Phoenix game we bounced back pretty quick. Big ups to Ivanovic for his brace, though his defending for villas second was pretty poor.
Botgh goals we conceded were poor. A long throw like that should be dealt with, to let Collins get a free header with that much space is pretty inexcusable. The second goal wasn't great either, Cole and Ivanovic should have done better.
Really nice finish from Torres though, nice to end that drought
