Sylvain Distin to sign subject to a medial plus personal terms could prove a good signing

Hibbert straight red after 7mins for a Foul right on the 18yard line in Euro 2nd leg @ Sigma Olomouc
thankfully we have a 4 goal buffer because we are struggling at the moment

We've signed Sylvain Distain from Pompey. Not bad replacement for "he who shall not be named".

Its no longer a problem.

At least we got a sh*t load of money for him and full credit to the team that brokered and extra 2mil plus add ons from the 22mil Citeh bid after the whole thing turned sh*te, it's allowing us to strengthen the squad by two players and maybe another two to follow.
It's just a shame we end up having to sell one decent player every year to get by in the transfer market.

Still Europe here we come

Real Madrid discard Rafael van der Vaart also on the radar.

interesting...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Just call him Billy :-)
Moysie mentioned another center half is coming in. I guess we'll find out tomorrow morning who it is. Haitinga looks the goods and Distan is quality with exerience. Wouldn't say no to van der Vaart either. All that and three points this morning and things may be looking a bit brighter for the blue (and much better looking) side of the Mersey.

Its no longer a problem.

We have 9 hours left to sign some new faces otherwise we're stuck with Tony Hibbert at right back and no creativity other than Steven Pienaar (until at least November) in the midfield oh and is it to late to send Jo back to Citeh ?

The transfer deadline closes @ 4am (our time) tomorrow morning

don't know, but Moyesy was saying if he could he'd like to drop a few players and give them a kick up the arse, I'm picking Tony Hibbert, Jo & Leon Osman would be 3 contenders for a start

Everton have confirmed that captain Phil Neville damaged knee ligaments in Sunday's Premier League match at Fulham and may face "a lengthy lay-off".

The 32-year-old midfielder was hurt in a challenge with Fulham's Dickson Etuhu during the Toffees' 2-1 defeat.

Everton physio Mick Rathbone confirmed on the club's website that an MRI scan had revealed the extent of the injury.

"It's too early to estimate length of absence but I fear he certainly faces a lengthy lay-off," added Rathbone.

<!-- E SF -->

The versatile England international will rest for 48 hours to decrease the swelling on his knee before seeing a specialist in London.

A decision will then be made on how best to treat the injury.

His absence means the club have problems on the right side of defence for the visit of AEK Athens on Thursday in the Europa League.

New signing John Heitinga is ineligible and Tony Hibbert is suspended after being sent off against Sigma Olomouc in the previous round.

Lucas Neill
versatile across the back and plenty of experience. OK going forward but the pace is going and several times over the last 2 years I have cringed at some of his not too subtle attempts to hold back wingers.
Faubert has replaced him adequately to date but if it wasnt for the money we would still have hime with us.
Good Luck, I know what every Hammers fan will be thinking when we play you. Get one of our kids to skin him from minute one.

From all reports Billy the Russian is all class, Heitinga is settling well and we've seen Sylvan a few times including a goal. Lious is scoring for fun and the rest of the squad is shaoping well now with plenty of competition for places in the starting XI (excluding keeper where Timmy H is streaks ahead on Carlo. In fact he is one of the best in the Prem in my "slighly" biased opinion)

Its no longer a problem.

Definitely a  better squad this year, Bily looks good on the left Peanuts is off to a flier and we have competition for Hibbo which is long overdue.

You'll be out sitting on the fence again this week Toffeman eh  the mighty EFC v Hull in the Carling cup on Thursday morning you're sorted either way but...
