based on pre-season and games i've seen so far our best team is.

Neville Heitinga Distin Baines

    Rodwell........Felliani

Coleman.....Osman.....Barkley
            Saha

I'd expect Drenthe to take Coleman's place and push Coleman in to rb with Drenthe and Barkley switching sides. Also can't believe none of you had Barkley in your starting 11 the boy is head an shoulders above any quality we have in the squad at the moment bar felliani. He really is going to be something special.

Barkley is good actually looks great but is only 17 so can't expect him to start every game this season given it's his first real season in the premier league (imo)
I think Strac might start ahead of Saha, if you check him out on you tube he's got some good pace and a good touch and isn't afraid to get nailed going for a header he looks like a good loan/future signing and Coleman to rb means no Phil Neville & he's a super star

Got Villa this weekend ( NOT ON T.V) let's get 3 points

Potentially great news coming from the backroom regards a future sale:

Its no longer a problem.

If Saha is fit he will start every-time that's a big if.
I don't know about Denis, heard some reports from Argentina that he looks like a center back playing up front...fast,good header strong but poor touch and movement. I don't know if it's true but he was reportedly on trial at Leicester and they didn't want him and we all know who ended up there. Drenthe will be good but we are defiantly short in the striking department.

I'd say the good thing about the publicity of our lack of finances is that it has drawn a lot of attention to potential investors/buyers. Lets hope those rumours on ESPN are true and do eventually lead to something substantial.

Your right it does bring in publicity and will hopefully help out with the search for a new owner, but you got to wonder the longer it drags on how it is going to affect they players, both currently at the club & those who may want to come to the club.

Will players decide to leave to chase euro places in other clubs ala Arteta?  Will we not be able to get some players in simply because they think we are completely stuffed financially?

While it has given us some answers, I'm not sure releasing the transcript has been good for the club.

Anyway, time to put that behind us for a day - hopefully they can beat Villa - I especially hate them.

One up at half time.  Game not on SKY, but from the stats and the reports on the various websites, looks like we're playing well so far and deserve the lead (Liverpool 1 down as well)  :)

That is so typical of us. Against Blackburn we were rubbish but still managed to win but in this game we deserve to win but draw

Bloody decent result that one. Good to see Drenthe score and Stracky get some time. Didn't see the game but will watch the highlights tonight. Old man tells me Everton played well and that Stracky will be a decent acquisition.

Its no longer a problem.

we played at Wigans level eh,they turned up looking for a point and for most of the match we gave them that. but, how good was vellios header, that was a cracker and Jags goal 90 seconds after they scored was terrific as well. Drenthe just endeared himself to the Everton faithful scoring his goal. Bily played well but he has no where near the speed Drenthe has. that said they both like to head in field to much for my liking. but Baines will love working with the Dutchman that's for sure. Bring on Man Citeh

I'm surprised we haven't started Drenthe. He has impressed in all his games for us so far. His pace would also be good for us on the counter. Without Bilyaletdinov we only have Osman who we could consider as a wide player. Rodwell on the wing?

Great player - but what a f*ckin little cheating b*tch.

Another deflected goal sees us go down.  Didn't think that City would score otherwise.  Drenthe looked alright when he came on (except for the mistake for the 2nd goal) - but he looks a little out of shape - definately not match fit.  Everytime the camera zoomed on him he looked like he was blowing.

Tough run of matches now.  Hope Cahill's okay.  Would be a big boost if we can beat pool.

Saha's time must be up as well, you'd think he'd have gone out to prove a point when he came on as a sub on Saturday and to be fair he did, it's just he sulked the whole 20 mins he was on and offered us nothing.

rofl I love the stuff Blue Kipper posts -

Lucas Leiva was over by the Bullens Road, when some fella stands up and yell's: "f**k off Leiva your the worst Brazilian I've seen since David Blunkett shaved his missus". Absolute quality rant. Cheers Mike.

* At analfield in the kop, Everton fans were singing: "An if yer know yer history.." Some redsh*te says: "What history? You ain't got none." An Evertonian comes back with: "What you on about? We won the league on this ground before you existed." Even kopites were laughing. Toffeenose80.

* With his redsh*te brother in law, my Dad sees Ian St John and asks him: "Could you sign this 4 times?" St John duly signs four times. Then asks: "Why four times?" My Dad says: Well, I need four of yours to get one of Alex Young's." His brother in law was mortified, but St John burst out in hysterics. Paul, Bootle.

* The Kanchelskis Derby was beamed back to Goodison on the big screen. When the redsh*te went down 2-0 some disaffected redsh*te stood up and shouted: "Can't you change the f**kin channel on that thing? Baywatch is on the other side." To which a Blue replied without missing a beat: "Yeah, more tits in red." There is us and there is them. Willow.

* Back in '93 - Sitting in the Gwladys Street, when the sh*te took the lead. Three redsh*tes stood up and started singing and turning to the rest of the stands. Minutes later, Mo Johnson and then Beardo scored that cracking winner. After the Blue hoards had slightly quietened down, me 'arl fella shouts: "Where've the Beverly Sisters gone?" Cue general laughter and the slumped shoulders and further depressed air of the redsh*tes. "Oh, I never felt more like singing the Blues, when Everton win and Liverpool lose.." BlueForEver

* When Sky TV was relatively new. You may remember the 'Sky Strikers' and the fireworks at full time. Well at half-time they had inflatable Everton and Liverpool sumo wrestlers in the semi-circle. Cue some fella: "Aye, aye, they're bringing on Jan Molby." Duncan Disorderly.

* Derby game at Goodison, half-time, massive queue for the gents, one RS pipes up: "You don't have to queue up for a piss at Anfield." Fella next to me replies in a flash: "Yeah, but you all sit down to piss over there." HM.

* Many years ago when we were on the kop, a redsh*te was waving a big brass bell, A blue shouted to him: "Eh, mate, sell your pies and f**k off home." David Evans.

* Derby at Anfield, another 0-0. Babb gets booked and my mate shouts: "The refs writing BABB and you know it's not his A-Level results." Jeff Hanlon.

* At the Carsley 1-0 win at Goodison, a fella stood up in the middle of the Gwladys and shouted: "Oh Liver, Liver!" At this point everyone was ready to jump him. He continued: "Liver, Liver, Liver, Liver sausage and mash." and sat down. The whole section erupted in laughter. Great day! Big Admhez.

* Picture the scene at Anfield in 95/96 When Kanchelskis scored 2, three of us were sitting in the kop, singin' and dancin' away a few minutes after we went 2-0 up. One kopite turned around and said: "f**k off, you bitter Blues. When was the last time you scored two at Anfield?" Me mate replied straightaway: "About 5 minutes ago, you twat!" Classic.
