Yeah, he's not quite the same since coming back from injury.

His once impeccable passing and ball placement has been a tad lacking this season, and he's had a couple of right shocker games, but I still think he's got the goods to warrant his place in the starting line-up.

[QUOTE=giddyup] [QUOTE=hellobeaver]Its the manner he did it, he was about to punch the referee by the looks of it. What an arrogant prick.A bit of lip reading tells you he wasn't merely asking. Shame liverpool can't play fotball and have to resort to such petty tactics. I used to support them, but think i'll support man united now.

Support chelsea two years ago and Ars before that o and Man-U in the 90's except for blackburn in 95.
I do think we were outplayed and outclassed. To be honest the Masch thing probably disguises a pretty lame effort by the lads. Hopefully we can regroup and smash the toffees this weekend. And get revenge on United in the champs league final!!

thats the attitude that loses u games..
as a midfielder, if his passing isnt hitting the mark, and hes playing bad games why does he deserve a place? midfielders are there for there passing etc arnt they? also the commetn b4 was right, Ronaldo brushed him aside for his goal, although in all fairness, he looked pretty pissed he's missed practically an open goal seconds before

Fair call, but he's not going to brush off the slump sitting on the bench, is he? Even on an average day, Xabi runs rings around most of the mids in the PL.

xabi gives us something a bit different from masch and Stevie G. I'd be gutted if they sold him. I dont think they will though. Lucas has dropped away over the last month hasn't he?

I don't think they'd want your support after a comment like that mate.

I think I'd speak for 99.9% of fans of any club when I say that even if they lost every single game they ever played, I'd still support them.

Remembher one of my first posts about glory hunting fans and here's a perfect example. I bet he has a Liverpool, Everton, Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea jersey in his wardrobe and depending on who won something, will depend who he follows.

Liverpoolfan1, you guys want to get tpgether and strip him of his Liverpool jersey. He's not worthy of supporting your club nor any others!

Manchester United  - glory hunter football fans since 1878

Haha I was looking for a reaction, cheers!

W was having a laugh, I'm actually man united for life. Been supporting for over 12 years. We play fair, we play with flare, and we always show faith in youth and local football. As a football purist however, I'll still be watching the Merseyside Derby this weekend, and would love to see Everton pip you for 4th!
Oh Wellington is wonderful. We got the wind, the rain and the phoenix. Oh Wellington is wonderful.

And in terms of football shirts LG, I own 12 Man United and one England with Rooney on the back. Yeah the thug who should have scored a hatrick past you! W would never wear a football shirt of a club other than Manchester United, Wellington Phoenix, Waterside Karori or Otago University AFC. Best clubs ever.

Man United's one big contribution is their fantastic youth set-up. They keep on churning out decent players who them move onto other clubs to get some first team action. Lonegunmen2008-03-26 19:58:09

Right you are, Keiran Richardson etc. Will be interesting to see if those proposed rule changes about fielding local players will come through.

England need to address that situation if they want to start producing the talent again. Spurs are another side that produce good youngsters, Huddlestone comes to mind. Liverpools reserve reserve team have some talent I hear but the foreigners are holding them back. Benitez should really give them a chance.

Masch to get potentially 3 weeks. What do ya reckon? Seems unfair given what Ashley Cole did

Hey Liverpool Fans I have a question, there's this huy at work that claims to be a liverpool fan, however when asked if he minded that a couple of americans owned the team he said he didn't care - genral concensus is he a true fan or an idiot?

Yip, rate him very highly! Solidifies the defence and lets Stevie G push higher up the pitch. Big loss when he went off VS Manure.

The Mascher will be be missed!

and I feel he's a scapegoat in all this, sure he behaved badly in harrasing the ref but that behaviour might well have gone unpunished prior to Cole's petulance and the resulting fuss

I'm happy that the FA appears to be sorting players harrassing the ref, but they suddenly changed the interpretation of the laws in that game.

1-0 in the Derby, hopefully locks in 4th for us...

No classic by any stretch, but 3 points all the same.

Gives us some breathing space. We do have a pretty hard run in though. Blacburn, the Arse, Tottenham away could be unpredictable. Did anyone see Henchoz comments saying that we rely on our stars too much. Well don't all teams?? Cmon you reds

Just under 12 hours to kickoff.  Guessing Rafa will play 4-2-3-1

Reina
Finnan - Carragher - Skrtel - Arbeloa/Aurelio
Xabi Alonso - Mascherano
Kuyt - Gerrard - Babel
Torres

A point would be great, a goal even better.  1-1 to take back home I reckon.
Permalink Permalink

yep, i reckon he won't deviate from 4-2-3-1

from soccernet predicted side

- Pepe Reina; Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel, Sami Hyypia, John-Arne Riise; Fabio Aurelio, Steven Gerrard, Javier Mascherano, Xabi Alonso, Yossi Benayoun; Fernando Torres.

i wonder if Rafa will bring Finan back into the starting line up after a month out  -on the bench Saturday but not sure if he'll do it

would prefer to see Arbeloa start ahead of Riise

1-1 would be good, even if it were to end up 2-1 to Arse I'd still back the Reds to go through

foolishly agreed to a 9.30 meeting so will miss some of it

Advantage us I guess. Sounds like we closed up after the break and held 'em off pretty good.

Caught most of the second half.

Gooners looked lost for ideas in the final third for most of it, even had to resort to route 1 at times. Yes, Kuyt had a handful of Hlebs shirt but he went down far too easily so easy not to give it (although I've seen them given).

Rumour has it Benitez now wants to sign Bentner as a defender, great clearance off our line!

Kuyts work rate is just phenomenal, for the full 90 he just kept running  and mixed it up with the arse midfield. Add in his goal and he gets my MOM vote.

Great result.

I'm glad for kuyt, he has taken heaps of crap this season. we played with 8 at the back and Bentner sweeping behind Pepe! Cmon boys now take em in the league and finish them off next week.

yep good result, what's your prediction for the Anfield leg LF1  ??

only saw bits and pieces, and the last ten mins on vid (but i wasn't capable of trying to analyse anything - just pacing the floor and relieved we got the draw)

be interesting to see what Rafa's basic strategy is for the second leg, i wouldn't be surprised if he tries to keep it tight, we can't afford to concede 2

i'd take 0-0 or 1-0 (4-0 would be a bonus )

I reckon the Arse are dodgy at the back. Senderos is slow,Eboue and Adebayor are  temperamental, Aluminia dyes his hair like Shane Warne, Van persie is injury prone, hleb is ugly, i am not biased! 2-0 The reds 3-1 Aggregate

i reckon liverpool are dodgy at the back. Skrtel is flaky and has no control of what he's doing, hyypia has no idea what goal he is attacking and which he is defending, carragher is slow, mascherano is temperamental, at least our goalkeeper has hair to dye and doesnt look 60 when he is only 25, torres and gerrard are both diving prone, and pennant has spent half of his life in jail, (not good enough for arsenal, but liverpool pick up the scraps).
you see how that works two ways?
