Great game. the better side won. Congratulations. You do realise you have an obligation to prevent Chelsea from getting to the final.

Seems like that job always falls to us...

Yes it does often fall to you fullas - but thats ok, you're good at it!

As an arsenal fan i was extremely gutted about the result. Walcotts run and the second goal was awesome, then the penalty decision was hard to swallow after the 1st leg penalty incident, but hey that is football right.

The best news for me is that if i had to choose an english team to be knocked out by it is liverpool. Apart from one prat in my indoor team, you fullas are generally fairly gracious in victory - more than we can say for ManU/Chelsea fans.

Congrats and good luck for the semis, hope youse go all the way.

Congrats guys, as gutted as i m about the penalty i'd rather it be against liver then man u or chelsea. As long as man u or chelsea dont win it i'll be happy. Just like arsenal i think liver need a much bigger squad to really for it in all comps. Walcotts run was border line on insane in a such a tense and massive game. Best of luck guys

good game guys, torres was a great signing well worth the $, he was gliding through our defence with ease in the 2nd half, make sure you make the chelsea and potentially manure scum suffer. well played

What a classic match, great game. Arsenal really turned on the style in the first 20 minutes, I thought we were going to be blown away.

when they showed the Gunners fans all praying(Liverpool up 2-1), i was thinking 'God ain't gonna help you', then Adebayor scores one to make it 2-2.

When Torres scored I f**ken lost it - went mental here at work to the consternation of one or two non-football fans.

My heart SUNK when Adebayor scored.....I really thought that was it.

On the penalty....I've seen them given; I've seen them waved away.  Certainly Arsenal had as good a shout turned down in the last game for a very similar incident.  That's footy I guess....

Babel.....here's a cake, just pop the icing on there, son.

Still buzzing 7 hours on.....

Good to see liver and gunners fan can still joke after a crazy game, i dont think we could say the same for chelsea and man u fans. I guess liver and gunner both hate manu and chelsea thats what unites us

what an awssum game, yet the mighty reds win at anfield on a big european night.

well done rafa, great team selection and subs imo

reina - bit shakey with clearences, couldnt of really done anything about the 1st, well finished

carragher- who said he cant attatck? what a game son

skertel- amazing, i wouldnt of thought @ the start of the season that him and sami would be our CB pair

hyypia-well done, just after signing new contact. yet again he scores a vital goal in the 1/4s

aurelio- solid performance, he should be 1st choice lb if he isnt already

kuyt- my MOTM worked his ass off, as per usual, kept the ball well was a great outlet on the right f**king awssum

alonso- had a quiet 1st half, worked well off the ball 2nd

mash- as usual a vital player for us. kept cesc quiet

gerrard- average but an average gerrard is still class. great pen under pressure

crouch- he deserves his place, made room for torres, unlucky not to score

torres- again he pops up from no where with a stunner

babel- great impact..running at arsenal great goal. he seems more effective being subbed on

well done lads, bring on chelsea

I made loud noises when I got to the office this morning and turned my computer on. I had just got a text from my wife saying Arsenal had got their second goal, then she had left for work so didn't believe me when I told her the final result. Been feeling great all day. Now lets hope the lads can do the three-peat against Chelski.
Just watchin the replay again, wife and I were both thinking "damn, that Arsenal sure do play some attractive football" . You're good sports, Arsenal fans. It was a great game, incredible atmosphere. Thought Arsene was going to burst something.

It's because they do not understand the real football psychee. The sense of history, your teams colours and crest being a badge of honour etc. To them, Liverpool are just a play thing to stoke their own egos.

They need to get amongst the Kop for a few games and appreciate just what Liverpool FC means to it's real fans - just like other owners should do with their respective clubs.

Sitting in a corporate box does not tell you the true story behind clubs and their relationship and duty to those paying at the turnstile.

mate that's the worst thing they could do right now, you might as well throw them to the lions they're not wanted there.
the only club owner i've seen sitting with the surporters is mike ashley from newcastle but then again i don't go looking for the owners in the crowd
while i'm not a huge liverpool fan  i have to say the team haven't become caught up in the saga and have  done most of their talking on the field  which in lots of other cases hasn't been the case

Anyone else heard the latest Yank shenanigans...

Man, I wish they'd piss off already, dragging our club through the sh!t in the media with their b!tch-fighting crap...

The worst thing about it in my opinion is the timing, we should be focused on the massive effort of the champions league. I can't wait for him to leave and sell up to DIC. As for the game tonight, I am a bit scared as Blackburn have the mighty Ryan Nelsen at the back!

Good win this morn, Nelsen and Samba did well for most of the match. But Stevie opened up the game, I'm quite disappointed with his 'antics' today though

That was a delightful little one-two and nutmeg for the first goal though.

great goal by Gerrard, (though his and Torre's were partly down to the poor passing of Santa Cruz and Nelsen)

looked like it might be a frustrating day up until the opener - benayoun made a difference when he came on

all good and hopefully the squad will stay largely injury free for the semis

Yeah, and the toffees still have Chelsea, Villa and Arsenal to play which should mean that beating Fulham this weekend should be enough to secure 3rd.

It would be nice to be able just to focus on the UCL. That might give us an edge as Chelsea probably think that they're still in with a sniff for the title which could be a distraction.

Good win today, good performances all round. Everyone looked sharp. JP was awesome goal and assist. Impressed by Skrtel too, he hasn't convinced me completely yet but showed some good pace and looked so calm and confident today.

I think Lucas is playing much better than Xabi, I'd want to start him versus Chelsea. Xabi still hasn't got back to form.

Yeah, good win alright. The boys played well, especially with so many rested, to come away with a result against a team desperate for points shows class.

4th is well secure now, and the Toffs have a scrap on their hands, especially coming up against an in form Villa and the Arse for their last fixtures. They might struggle to hold onto their European spot if they don't pick up points.
How sad...

Anyway, bring on Chelski I say. Lets have 'em!

Gerrard maybe out for Chelsea with a sore neck. Is Drogba out for them? We seem pretty confident at this moment in time, i reckon we will beat the blues (See Avram Grant wants to sign Gerrard). Cmon you reds!!

we'll be at the beach with sky but no internet - so my contribution to this thread will be in the form of a distant shout when Torres scores - twice!

Cross came into the six-yard box....Riise had Anelka behind him so couldn't let it go....I think he got caught in two minds and at the last minute stooped to try and head the ball away and got it horribly wrong.

Never mind, just have to score at Stamford Bridge now.
