Cheers Coxey, although it doesn't do much to dull the pain...

Def wasn't the game a lot of people were predicting it would be.

EDIT: anyone else hear the chant going around the Bridge towards the end? Cut to the bone...

What is your verdict on the season? 4th in the league. Semis of champs league.Round of 16 FA up and Quarter in the Carling. Pretty good overall although the  pre season talk  was that we were going to winthe league. We don't look good enough against the top teams and have had too much turmoil at board level etc. A couple of great signings with Torres and Skrtel. Just wonder what you guys think?

Have to say I've had (and read) nothing but good comments and best wishes from Liverpool fans since the game which warms my heart.  And it certainly puts into perspective the unsporting and disrespectful way Chelsea fans reacted after the two previous semi-finals (myself included).  A lesson for all of us.

f**k all, you're gonna win f**k all, you're gonna win f**k all.  I assume that's the one he's referring to.  It came across loud and clear.

What are your thought son barry coming to the Pool? I dont think we need another centre midfield unless one of the others is out of there. He is good, but we are pretty solid in that area.

Please dont take Barry :( he's our only chance!

I do like liverpool but to be honest you guys need to step up and finally challenge for the Premiership title for the entire season like every other club in the top 4 did this year bar liverpool, who came at risk of being knocked out of the top 4! makes you think...

Was disapointed to see you guys lost at the bridge but the blues deserved the win, no doubt

Yeah, was the old "F*ck all, you're gonna win f*ck all" etc... Thanks Jose!

As for the season, it's been pretty ho-hum IMO. Yeah, we've got some great new signings, got through to the semis in the CL again, but some of the performances and tactics (especially in the middle of the season) were well below the level that we need to be at to be competitive in the EPL. Great signings this year though, even though the likes of Voronin faded towards the end, Torres has been a godsend. Been waiting/needing a striker of his quality for a while now and he's only gonna get better.

Had high hopes for the lads this time round, but it wasn't to be. Was still great fun to watch 'em.

Another year gone, but we've waited 18, so one more ain't too much to ask...

Peter Crouch wants showdown talks with Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez over his Anfield future.

The England striker, whose contract expires next summer, has started just nine Premier League games since the July arrival of Fernando Torres and has been linked with a move away from the club. The 27-year-old, who cost the Reds 7million from Southampton almost three years ago, told the Daily Mirror: 'When all is said and done, I don't think I can have another season like this year where I've started nine Premier League games. Out of a 38-game league season, nine games is not the amount you want to be playing.

'I'll have to speak to the manager and see what his plans are. I need to see him and sort things out. I have to find out what he wants from me next season and whether or not I can continue with that. In some ways, I want to feel wanted. 'So I'd like to speak to the manager and the club before I commit to anything and know whether or not I'll be here next year.'

Benitez claims Crouch was offered a new deal midway through this season but the player insisted contract talks amounted to an informal 'five-minute chat'. Crouch said he would love to commit his future to Liverpool, but not at the expense of his England career. He denied having any contact with Portsmouth over a return to the club where he spent just under a season until March 2003.

But he is flattered at all the attention from rival clubs, adding: 'It's always nice to know that if things did go completely wrong for me at Liverpool, I'd have options to go somewhere else and it's not the end of the world if things don't work out for me there.'

I'm quite gutted about Crouch. He looks unbelievably unco when he runs but he always seems to score. He offers something different from most other strikers.

I guess we can't complain to much about the season. I'm a little dissapointed about losing to Chelsea in the Champs league, I thought we were the better team over 2 legs, the Riise own goal made the difference really.

The league was frustrating as usual, I'm not sure we can continue playing a 4-5-1 against bottom half premiership teams, to often they are happy to sit everyone behind the ball and look for a point, I think we need to play 2 up front to ensure we're putting those teams away.

I agree Mascherano, Skrtel and Torres have all been excellent. I still think we need a decent winger or two and a left back.

As for Gareth Barry, he's an excellent player and linked up well with Stevie G when they played in the middle for England, he's also a good leader on the pitch. If we did buy him we'd need to sell a midfielder or two though. Apparently Juventus are about to offer 15mil for Alonso which would be good business for us.

Nice to end the season on a high note with Torres breaking the record for most goals scored by a foreigner in their debut season...

Randomly signed some Swiss right back Degen on free. Kewell is out, Karma's a bitch aye, Leeds got screwed by Harry and his agent and throughout his entire Liverpool career he could piece together a few months of being injury free.

Litlle Sam is back, now as assitant. Good to see role finally filled.

I think Liverpool's season overall was not bad, however for Liverpools standards, a season without silverware is not good enough, i'm not saying that's my thoughts, but i'm sure its the ones of the players and the staff.
Next season does show good hope, however breaking that top three will be hard, but if any other team in the lleague can do it, it's Liverpool.
Best player for Liverpool this season has to be Torres (i said at the start that he was the buy of the season), and of course Gerrard, he's the bollox!!! he's WELL ARD

According to the Liverpool Echo. 7 players that Liverpool could have signed but didn't. Cristiano R, Rio Ferdinand, N Vidic, J Terry, Peter Cech, Micheal Essien and Nic Anelka. What do you reckon? We probably would have rotated them and they wouldnt have developed as well as at other teams! But they are big misses

Those Chelsea scum think they can put a price on anyone! How are teams suppose to get anywhere in a season if there top players are always pinched by big scum teams like Chelsea. Not that this normally affects Liverpool as they have money and promise at the club.

Still i hate those Chelsea scum ********!!!!!!!!!!!

New away strip out today. Anyone remember the old silver/grey Candy shirts?

Check this out then:
https://store.liverpoolfc.tv/products/footballkit/awaykit/awayadultkit

Oh, and anyone see the rumour about David Villa coming to Pool?
Everyone denying it but how great would that be? Villa and Torres up front with Stevie G and Gaz Baz or Macherano in behind.

Sorry Malky, that shirt is terrible, bit of a time warp to the 80's.

Going back in history for ideas can work if done with a modern twist, don't think it worked in this case, it looks dated..

Don't shoot the messenger now.

I didn't say it was any good or I liked it, only that it reminded me of the old one.
I think last years white one or the UCL black one are both much better.

I'm quite surprised Riise went for so cheap (4m), gained a big rep in his first couple of seasons, went off a bit, but still playing a lot and at a high level.

Any way get some cash and Aurelio and Arbeloa have been ahead of him in LB pecking order. Whats up with Dossena thought it was a done deal, maybe waiting for Riise to go.

40 quid converts to $103.964 at the time of me leaving this message, so why do we get ripped $150.00 minimum?? (Extra if you want a number and name on the back.) (Not talking about local shops but when buying online overseas)

If you add a number, name and the EPL badges, the total comes to 58 quid. Minimum postage is 5 quid anywhere in the UK which is 63 quid (getting sent to NZ would be much more). Convert that in todays exchange rate is $155 so if you can get it for $150 you're on a winner.

I like the shirt. Do you think Villa would go alright in the EPL? Doesnt seem as strong as Nando, I'd be happy for him to ocme though, think Spurs and Chelsea might be keen though

I rather us sign Silva than Villa, I think our strike force is good we just need better link player, especially width, which it seems like we are always lacking. Torres, Kuyt and Crouch, maybe Babel can play upfront and Nemeth is suppose to be on the verge of a first team place too.

Don't know if Torres will be as effective with Villa as he is playing with Kuyt. But if Crouch goes then we need another striker, probably one that is strong in the air.

Names been thrown around: David Villa, David Silva, Gareth Barry, Rafael Van Der Vaart

I think we are just waiting on Alonso deal to go through, but really I'd rather have Xabi than RVDV or Barry. Even though his form has been average for Liverpool last season. Out of the two Barry would be better is much more versatile and being English fills a uefa comp need too.

Barry's moved round so much I remember he was the future of England centerbacks, then he was a left back, left midfield and now a centermidfielder.

I would have thought he could haqve made more money in England. IF he could stay injury free he would still be a great player IMO. Robbie Keane would be a good buy I reckon, I wonder if the rumours are true

Robbie Keane wants out, not sure if I want him. He said he wants to go to Liverpool, even though we have never expressed interest in him.

I like Kuyt up front with Torres, but if he's (Keane) willing to be the reserve for Torres then he can come as long as he's cheap, not that 20m rubbish I've heard reported, he's not that good.

Haven't made any big moves yet. We need to get a winger and if Alonso leaves (which I hope he doesn't) then we will need another center mid, and Barry is the likely option.

Sidenote: Tyler almost a centurion, time to raise the bat

I really dislike Bernie Mandic. Cursed Kewell's run at Liverpool with his dealings. Liverpool, Bernie and Kewell screwed Leeds over, Kewell got nothing but injuries in his whole time at Anfield. damn Karma

UberGunner: Very nice illustration, pity the type is horrible and Conan?

So, what is Kewell going to change his first name to seeing as Christian names are illegal there.

Three for me, and two for them.

100 posts!!!! Thanks for pointing that out Linds!Kuyt is a fully fledged right mid now i reckon. I think we definately need a second striker though. It doesn't seem like we have any $ though.
