The last 4 games have been pretty hard going - in fact the whole of Jan has. There's been the usual work rate (and yeah El-Nino, Carra's talking before the Spurs game was inspiring) but lack of creativity, confidence and ball retention is scary. Stoke/Wolves - they had the same possession as us.....
As things go, January on paper seemed like a month where we should do pretty well. I'm worried about February because if we take our form into it, it could turn ugly....

Told ya you would never win the league with Rafa in charge.

I hope Juve have no hopes of ever winning the Serie A then

Do us Phoenix -Perennial strugglers Liverpool fans want Rafa to stay? We complain about having no $$ but he seems to have wasted a whole heap of money (i think I heard someone say 220 Million pounds) and the way the team is playing at the moment hardly inspires confidence.

EDIT: {post in reference to Nino's}
Yeah totally! It should be a cracker with both teams finding 'some' resemblance of form and the usual hatred of each others Mothers.
Oh and forgot to say that Krygogreekman is lifting the standard in defense at the moment. The guys like a raging Spartan sometimes. I'm starting to like him.TheKop2010-02-02 12:02:48

I think Spurs have dropped out of the race though.....as usual
Not one to defend the yids but they're still above you in the table. You have a fair way to go before you can afford arrogance again.

Agreed. We're in for an intense race. Pretty foolish to write anybody off, particularly those above us! f**k, I'm not even writing the Bluesh*te out of a late charge...

Just saying I think that Spurs are fading as per every year. Still a huge fight on our hands for 4th place but I think ourmain contenders are City.

Funny - I was saying the same about City for us in our thread.
BTW - we don't fade. Just self-destruct every now and then. I don't think 'Arry has pushed that button all the way down this season (pressed a few times but seems to keep re-setting)

Anyone know much about this chap: Milan Jovanovic? Talk of him signing in the summer from Standard Liege.
Just saw the Europa squad. Maxi out as he played for Atletico in the CL. Shame, as we need all the help we can get...

Yeah, can't say I've heard much of him, to be honest. Would have been nice to have now while Torres is out, but ah well. I thought Ngog did alright against Bolton.
Yeah, I know. f**king Atletico... Didn't even have the decency to drop out of Europe entirely- because they don't belong there.

Meh. Self-Destruct is Villa last season.
For the record, I wouldn't write off City, Villa, Spurs, Birmingham and even Everton are finding some form now. Haven't studied the table recently though, so I may be well off. Or missing someone. Still a lot of football to be played yet.

Apparently we've signed Jovanovic on a pre-contract. Or whatever. Where we get him in the summer.
Speaking to Serbian site Blic online, Jovanovic said, "Everton aren't a big club. That club I have turned down already."
If he did indeed say that; I like him already.

It doesn't really seem like the yanks want to leave...I read some commentary that they sold all the other sporting franchises so they could make money out of the pool...let's hope if that's true then we can expect some further investment from them AND somebody else!

Yeah Rafa, why don't you play Alberto? And persist with that useless sh*te Lucas... f**king top game. 10 men and battled away. Kuyt- immense. Fantastic performance. Mascherano and Carra- boss. f**k it, we were all good. Don't be hating on Ngog... I always say the same. He won't become a Torres or whatever, but he knows what he can and can't do, he leads the line well enough, works hard, doesn't bottle it and holds play up excellently. I'm happy to have him in the squad, anyway.
Agree Paul. Massive 3 points, and everyone else dropped points. And agree- don't write off Everton yet!
Oh, and Pienaar... t**ser. Was so glad when Carra got him after he tackled Mascherano. I really loved the unity and commitment out there. When Ani was up for the fight, Masch, Agger, Lucas, Stevie all gathered around. Maxi was putting himself about even! Fellaini also was pretty fortunate to survive Kyrgiakos' tackle without a red card. Kyrgiakos had to go, I guess, but Fellaini's was just as bad. And kicking Kuyt... Ah well. A great win, great derby, happy days! Next up, Arsenal...
