The missus is sick i was taking care of her. However as i now have a little time...

Did the Stevie G starfish not work against Reading?

Sammy Lee isn't amused by it all

Rafa reacts to the winning goal

"Hmmmmm, if i score an own goal for them, then it will get their hopes up before we take the piss and win it in extra time. I love these scouse fools"

In summary: Reading

Three for me, and two for them.

That has no influence on the above 'joke'.

Pool fans get a little upset after the game and turn on each other when one member of their almighty firm declares his love for a fellow firm members sister, who happens to be his cousin. Only in Liver.pool.

Benitez and McDermott were having a drink after the game.

First they had a couple of beers, then two whisky chasers. Finally McDermott bought Benitez an expensive cocktail.

When Rafa put his hand in his pocket to buy the next drink, McDermott said: "Why are you still here mate? It's the fourth round."

Three for me, and two for them.

Disappointing, but probably for the best.  With so much riding on league placing, the cup is just a distracting opportunity to get key players injured.

Don't get down, Reds fans.  Just hope that your lads avenge themselves on Stoke and Spurs.

edit:  A 0-5 win on the 10th would be nice, too.

Yeah, now we concentrate on the league. Good to see we got Maxi, hopefully he can add something a bit different on the wing.

Trouble was, by all reports we totally outplayed Perennial strugglers Perennial strugglers Liverpool. Some might say freak results happen, and they do. But outplayed - that HAS to be the problem for Perennial strugglers Perennial strugglers Liverpool.

Though having said that, last time we played Perennial strugglers Liverpool we won 3-1 at the Madejski!

Fixed that up for you.  It's at least as accurate as your original and more appropriate for the Reds fan thread.

Wooooohoooooo, good result, was suppose to post this earlier. Perennial strugglers Liverpool were unlucky but you can't say they didn't have chances. Benayoun one no one with the keeper should have won it but Reading held there nerve and took it out.

You missed Benny. Out for four weeks. Oh, and Johnson's still out...

Charitable at best. We weren't unlucky. We got outplayed and outfought. Stripes is bang on though. Some of those tackles were horrid. I won't even start on the referee either.

Terrible news about the injuries. Just terrible. And yet, I'm not even surprised.

This season.

Positives:
- The development of Ngog, Lucas and Insua. Insua is still prone to mistakes (who isn't?) but in my opinion has settled in nicely.
- Ummm.... We beat United?
- There's no chance of me "pulling an Owen" and changing teams. This season will live long in the memory.
- It's impossible to just flag this season and start again next season.

Negatives:
- LOSSES. Losses to sh*t teams, losses to good teams, we have just lost so often this season its crazy.
- Out of the FA Cup. In the 3rd round. To Reading (20th in the Championship). We even got a second chance to beat them at home.
- Out of the Champion's League. The only reason we managed to get into the Europa League was because Debrecen were actually worse than us. Fiorentina are no great shakes. Lyon didn't even win the French League last season (I think?)
- Out of the Carling Cup. Arsenal away was never going to be a fun place to go to, to be fair. But f**king hell. I would've taken a trophy. Any trophy...
- Out of the title race. Killed. All my dreams crushed just like that.
- Fighting for 4th place. Actually more apt would probably be fihgting for 6th place.
- Injuries. Is there a player in our team who hasn't had an injury this year? Oh, Kuyt and Lucas. But particularly injuries to Torres and Gerrard. The last thing we needed.
- Mocking. It has become unbearable! From beach balls to phone calls, from jokes to photos, I have endured the most torrid of time. From proper fans and Twits from school. I guess that's what happens when you wear your heart on your sleeve and all that.
- Yanks are still here, we have no money and are in a pretty bad financial position. The fact we celebrate getting rid of Voronin and Dossena, and bring in someone (on free, of course) shows how low it has become. Where's the joy we felt when Torres signed?
- We could become Leeds United, or something similar.
- The atmosphere around the ground has been awful.
- Rafa has (probably rightfully, to an extent) taken so much blame for a bunch of players who hardly look arsed.
- Most of the players don't even look like they give a f**k.
- This list could go on for so much longer.

Anyone know where we can find the Spirit of Shankly?

If we could just synthesize the Shankly vaccine and inject some into each player we may see some results...

seems the players are playing with little or no desire. surely a new manager is needed to reinvigorate the team.

they seem to have become stagnant under rafa

ultimatly a lack of desire comes back to the manager
