Bit of a soft finish but it's 3 points. The Arse slip up with a draw and Spurs nail City.

Portsmouth away, then Wolves at home and then Villa away. Could be very interesting over the next few weeks but we should make up some ground.

Yeah. I read some stuff afterwards saying we were pretty poor but a win is a win and all that. I disagree! We were excellent! Okay, its only Wigan at home, but we plyed some great stuff. Rafa got his team exactly right. Ngog was awesome, he really is developing into a fine player (Aha! A positive from this season!) And Torres... Well, what can I say? A true champion. A wonderful goal. That first touch was pure pure quality. Masch is back to his best, Aquilani came on and did well, as did Lucas. Benayoun was looking sharper. Hell, even Kuyt played alright and could have had a couple of goals if it hadn't been for some class keeping. Agger and Skrtel played well, Carra did okay. I was impressed with Insua, he was superb. Scotland should have scored though! But f**k it, I'll take the luck.

Yeah, that's the thing. With Spurs and Villa playing at the highest of their ability- we actually aren't too far away given the shambolic season we have had so far. We're gonna get top four, we're gonna get top four, and now you're gonna believe us....!

Hope fully El-Kun our injuries have resolved and the boys will finish strongly. We didn't get seeded for Europa either.

Yip. A fully fit Fernando Torres will transform this team. Yeah, I saw that too. But I thought we already knew that? Meh. Bring it on! Juve, Werder Bremen, Valencia... The draw is tomorrow morning/tonight I think. Will be interested/excited to see who we get. The Europa League is where it is at! Champion's League is borrrring...

I don't think you ever look really good either, but I don't go round pointing that out.  Besides, Ngog was brilliant yesterday.

Unless you're talking about his physical features? He may have an alien head, but at least he has a big dick.

Torres one goal away from his 50th league goal. Has 49 in 69 games. Very impressive strike rate.

Yeah. 35 goals in 37 games at Anfield, I think. In general, not just League goals. Very impressive!

It is an excellent strike rate. Arshavin has 5 in 2 at Anfield. If he keeps that strike rate up after 37 games he will have racked up 92 goals.

Three for me, and two for them.

I would hope that we don't get an Italian team....but we shouldn't be scared of anyone

Meh. Gala, Shakhtar, Valencia... None of those would be easy! We can beat all those teams though. As long as we are looking good in February. We are at home first leg, which is laaaaame. Be nice to have Riise back at Anfield- and a return for Aquilani to Rome.

Oh, thanks Buff. Why don't you just head off back to your Champion's League (yip, lameness) thread? You cling to the hope of a first European Cup for London- we'll set about conquering the obviously tougher Europa League

And if we win, then we play the winners of Lille and Fenerbahce... Hmmm. Oh well. As Buff pointed out- no game is easy!

Still 5 aye boys.

This ones for you El-kun,

Tempted to put that brilliant photo of Nando leaping in joy after his derby goal whilst your fans give him the finger/ chant "Who Are Ya?".

But, to be honest, it wouldn't really achieve much. Don't blame Torres for that awful, terrible, humiliatingly sh*te performance. He got frustrated after they scored and never really looked in the right space. But at least he's feeling it. Don't know what Gerrard's f**king excuse is. That was, to be honest, simply sh*te. Masch shouldn't have got sent off (the commentators even said it shouldn't be... Until after half time when someone in the studio had a chat with them) but boy, its getting increasingly hard to defend Rafa.
