Man Yoo has a bit more pedigree/recent history on its side to lure those players. LFC out of CL for 5 years, MUFC just the one...

so going back to your original statement, where do Spurs fit into all of this?  1 CL appearance in......forever?  Yet they had more draw than Liverpool.

And money of course.

I think it is fair to say that Tottenham have been relatively successful because they use their resources well (compared to Liverpool).

Spurs had more draw? Wouldn't have thought so.

Vs Bournemouth today....3 at the back I see. Maybe Rodgers has listened to the call to change formation

2-0...... not sure how I feel about this. Growing in confidence again.

Hopefully that give sthe lads some confidence. It's only Bournemouth but it's a win. Can only help the dressing room issues

I wouldn't underestimate a win against Bournemouth either. They are top of the Champo and have scored more goals in the Enlish leagues that any other with 44 and a DG of +20 from 21 games.

Chelsea in the semis for League Cup too

Souness had a face like thunder when he drew Liverpool out of the hat, and then Jamie Redknapp drew Chelsea.

Found the vine of it - Vine

Some of the ex-Liverpool players who are pundits are so blatantly biased it is hilarious.

Finding positives. That's what a fan does. I'm guessing LVG would have relished the chance to play Bournemouth.

What does LVG have to do with anything?

Pointing out that at least Liverpool are still in the cup when someone laughed at the fact that I considered Bournemouth to be a good team and we should take positives from the game.

...and dropped LVG in there as despite the fact our season has been rubbish, Man Yoo losing to MK Dons is still hilarious.

Top of the league, plenty of goals, beautiful seaside town too. Must be another one with with more draw than Liverpool. ;)

You've nailed it. We can't offer the consistency of Arsenal either.

Qualify for CL, get out of group stages, get knocked out, finish 4th in Prem, rinse, repeat.

But speaking seriously Arsenal have done a lot more than that. They have built a new ground and through constant Champions League qualification have established themselves as a financial powerhouse. This is exactly what Liverpool haven't done. It seems to me that Arsenal are happy with their current situation. They have worked out that having 4 spots in the Champs league is going to create a top 4 and the rest. Arsenal are firmly entrenched in that top 4 and it is difficult to see them not continuing to be a big club in 20 years time. Arsenal is one of the few clubs which actually runs like a business (and I think some fans don't like that).

Tottenham, West Ham, Liverpool and Everton all know this. This is why they are trying to build new stadiums or expand their current ones.. Getting in the top 4 is a far harder feat than staying in it. Getting in it for one year actually isn't too difficult but cementing your spot in there like Arsenal has done is very difficult.

accept all that but Arsenal's right to a top four finish is under threat this year and despite consistancy, its been ten years since last winning premier league. Man City are now firmly there and Man Utd have squad depth + coach, just need a few results to go their way. Chelsea, well bought their succcess through Abranovich. I'd say fourth will be contested till the end; whether Brendon Rogers can turn it around or will be given time....answers on a post card to John Motson, MOTD, Londinium.

It's not a right, but it is always under threat and has been for years. Of the traditional "big" teams, every season Arsenal are the one everyone expects to fall out of the top four, but with United's disaster last season we're the only one who hasn't.

Top four has been at least as contested as this season, and more, over the period Arsenal have consistently been in it.

Nobody else has managed it every season for as long, nobody.

It's never been a right.

I would be happy with a 2-2 draw as well, I don't think our leaky defense will be able to hold out Arsenal's attack.

So what's all this return of Torres bullshark? Freaking seriously? When was the last time he played well? 2009? Does this seem like a lot of questions? It does though eh?

I bow to your superior knowledge Buff. Pretty good game actually, glad to see us playing much better.....results will come, if we keep playing like that.  Rodgers has found the formation that suits...good managing!

The return of the incredible sulk? ...we are looking for a striker, he ........was one. Hope not. Much respect to what he did when he was with us though

You dominated us. If you get someone who can finish and a goalkeeper above Conference North standards you might get somewhere.

Mingolet is rubbish and Jones makes Mingolet look good.

Markovic was outstanding again.

Haha I was thinking about your battle over Markovic this morning. Didn't realise he is only 20, could still turn out to be OK. He did run down a few blind alleys and lose the ball though.

Suarez was poor his first season with us.

He's more than the next Saurez though. I see him as a Suarez/Henry/Modric/Cantona hybrid.
