Setting aside that other paper, the Guardian reported on the Reina situation.

The remarks should be read in context (as the Guardian supplies).  Reina is also referring to the Torres transfer, and appears to be justifying his countryman's departure from Perennial strugglers Liverpool.  He doesn't sound like he wants out as much as he wants to win.

Cheers for both of those , TK.
Two things about the first link: a) just how massive is Andy Carroll ( in the photo with the King and Suarez) and b) F...ing Statler and Waldorf just won't go away

There are just some people in life who are genuinely nice , committed , with a real passion for what they believe in. Shanklyboy seems to have been one of those.I enjoyed reading what he wrote and would loved the chance to have a pint with him.
RIP YNWA

Shame for the lad...

MIDFIELDER Jonjo Shelvey has been ruled out for the next three months with a knee tendon injury.

The 18-year-old withdrew from England Under-19s friendly against Germany on Tuesday and further assessment at the clubs Melwood training ground has revealed it is a significant problem.

This sucks! Just as he had manager who was giving him regular game time, at only 18 he gets a serious injury

Hopefully KD continues his youth policy and we see Spearing and Pacheco get some time now...

I'd be a bit worried about Shelvey's injury. For a young guy to get a  knee injury so early in his career is potentially  really serious.Hopefully all is well with him.I bet they'll treat him with kid gloves after all the crap that went down with traitorres prior to the WC. ANd Peter Bruckner is no idiot.
I'd love to see both Spearing and Pacheco get time. Different players   , different styles. But if the King thinnks they're good enough , they'll play.
One of the guys I work with is a Wolves supporter.Obviously we have his very best wishes against Wigan

Haha alright, maybe Spearing's 22 isn't quite as 'youth' as Pacheco or Shelvey but he's still 2 years younger than the next youngest starting midfielder (Lucas)!

Especially with the fair play rulings coming into affect soon it would be nice to have a youngish English back up who has actually played a few matches

...yeah I'm basically just trying to justify 'youth' after you called me out

haha, it just reminds of when el zhar used to be called one of Perennial strugglers Liverpools exciting youth prospects even though he was like 23 and only had a few sub appearances for the first team.

Maybe he's the sort of manager that can't work in a big club atmosphere? Be interesting to see how he goes! Especially when we play them!

Morning All, hopefully you didn't sit through that Manchester Derby

Maybe not as big a game as Europa League side Chelsea, but 3 points is 3 points! Pacheco and Danny Wilson on the bench for our youth

Also, I can't say how much I love hearing YNWA in the middle of the night, just gives me such a good feeling

ARGH!!! Hit the bar, hit the post, concede an offside goal. Frustrating draw.

Disappointing to drop points at home to a low placed team but still, unbeaten in 5 games and only 1 conceded in those 5. The next two games are the UEFA cup fixtures against Sparta Prague I think then back to West Ham in the league? Hopefully we can build up a bit of momentum against Sparta then annihilate West Ham.

Suarez looked decent, should be good when we have Suarez, Carroll and Gerrard available simultaneously...

Losing Agger, Gerrard and then Meireles to illness was a big blow, but we really should've won that game. Suarez was great and so unlucky not to score! Yeah, can't wait to see Carroll and Suarez in the same team...

We didn't play very well at all though. Ah well, onwards and upwards!

Missed the game on the weekend but we sound a bit unlucky even though we didn't perform that well. Still, 4 wins and two draws in 6 matches? Dream stuff as far as this season is concerned. Have to expect we'll have a few bad days especially with a very thin squad once you get a few injuries/illnesses...

Missed the game- Vuko's fault!!

Whilst still nursing my headache , came across two "players LFC are  linked with" stories. Accuracy and reputability of sites unknown.
1.Kevin Prince Boateng
2.Karim Benezma

I guess now that we have a bit of money as well as a published strategy for transfer, we'll be linked with a lot of players between now and the start of next season.Never liked Boateng , Benezma..hmm, very inconsistent.Would greatly depend on the $ for me.

From the football fan's drinking game rules,

"When your team's goalkeeper scores, drink everything you can get your hands on."

Oh OK, I was hoping for an epic story involving randomness and Vuko.
