Joel Matip out for 6 weeks now with a broken collarbone, ugh! Lovren just back in time but that's a worry.

With Gomez out too

I don't want him to rush back either. He has been playing so well and reckon he'll be more crucial later on in the season.

Agreed. Did the classic.... live - what the fudge was that for?! 1st replay - oh nah maybe he just catches him. 2nd replay - yikes that's a nasty one.

The love Shaq to the rescue! Couple of wicked deflections but fudge it, stoked!

Absolutely dominated this morning. Fabinho was quality, as was Shaq when he came on. Wijnaldum also played extremely well. And how good is Robertson?

Made United look very average.. well I guess thats all they are these days

Yep for sure. Fab's best game and Gini and Andy must be crazy fit. Great being able to bring Shaq off the bench, he's very busy and makes things happen.

I am still tired just looking at [Andy] Robertson. He makes 100-metre sprints every minute, absolutely incredible, and these are qualities.

- José after the game.

High praise.

Bayern Munich in the CL!

Glad to avoid Barca, Real and Juve but a tough tie nonetheless. Exciting!

17 Dec 19:48

Good time to get them as they're not exactly firing on all cynlinders, Robben's getting older and old mate face kicker is out for the first round. Still reckon it could be in your advantage to go out early and focus on the league - not sure you've got the squad depth to sustain both the EPL title tilt against City plus a deep Champions League run.

17 Dec 20:20

VvD out for the first leg too, hopefully Gomez and Matip are back by then.

I know what you're saying and that might be some consolation if we do crash out to Bayern, but I'm sure the team won't see it that way! Still feels like we'd have to have our own undefeated season to stay in front of them and I'm not sure it's possible.

17 Dec 20:28

Oh it's possible... if you're good enough... ;)

4th January 9am. That's your moment to set yourself up for the run in and get some breathing room.

17 Dec 22:15

Haha that's why I said "our own", I knew one of you clowns would bring that up ?

Yep must win away and demand Mahrez takes all pens.

17 Dec 23:12

Hahahaha to be fair I didn't notice the "our own" bit in there sorry!

22 Dec 23:35

Thank you Roy! Madness!

Easy.

woah. what a demolition. Liverpool played beautiful and complete football tonight.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

They aren't good enough.

Three for me, and two for them.

Oopsy poos...

What was Klopp doing with that lineup? Brighton at the weekend, then a full week until Palace?

I can only think he wasnt too bothered about the cup as if anything it gives us more fixtures to worry about in the run in with the league; and also considering we dropped points at City, its crucial we get 3 points at Brighton. Still its always dissapointing to lose and get knocked out, but Wolves have been good this season and were never going to be easy.

While Lovren can be unconvincing, I still like him in the side and his injury is a concern. We desperately need him to be fit with Gomez and Matip still not looking like returning in the near future and VVD out for the Munich first leg. Hoever looked good but still far too early for regular first team football.

Need a win this weekend to get back on track

Watching a brilliant documentary on Bein 2 about Bob Paisley. Brings back a lot of memories. I actually think football in the 70's/80's was heaps more fun than it is today where sterile play seems to be the form.

Marković finally off the books, hilarious!

I know you guys have a game in hand but it feels kind of significant that Man City took the lead today... pressure is really on now...

I think Klopp has proven he can put teams together to beat anyone, so to me it seems that this will come down to the team's mental strength, and  strength of character.

Squeaky bums lads!

Yip

Sort of. But I think we needed Spurs or the scum to take points off City. Spurs couldn't do it and I can't see any way that the scum will, given how they lay down and took it from Everton this morning. So I've stopped holding my breath and accepted the fact that I won't ever see LFC win another title. 7 points up going into Xmas and they still cock it up. Only lost one game all year in the league but that run of draws hurt big time. Hell of a season, ultimately not good enough. Shame.

Can they do it? 3-0 down, now 3-3

Bit rough???

Phenomenal season, bloody unlucky in the end, even if you could point to a couple of pivotal moments in hindsight... harsh to even say that though, they were so long ago, both teams just kept winning in the run-in, relentless stuff. Certainly proved me wrong.

I feel a champions league win would probably be just rewards for the season if you can do it. Obviously my personal preference now too, given the alternative ;)
