I think Owen looked really tentative. Nani and Evras year this year I feel. Rooney is the man as always.

Thought Evra was MOTM after watching that game

I've lately decided that YellowFever adds little to my life so don't really rate it that highly in my priorities.

Well... indeed YF does add to my life as they're the driving force behind Phoenix... but I just don't have time to actually post.

I feel so hated... Michael2009-08-17 18:03:26

what are all your thoughts on michael owen so far?

what i've seen of him has been monumentally sh*t tbh.. but then again I've only watched about 30 mins of Utd this season.

Pre-season he seemed like a valuable striker that was going to put the ball into net. Very average so far, I defiantly think he'll grow (if you can say that for someone of his age)into a quality player for us as the season progresses.

I reckon he might have had a better penalty on him than Carrick though!

Yea same thought it was really odd that they gave that to carrick. Thought it woulda been great for their confidence to give it to one of the strikers. Roon clearly wants a lot of goals this year, and owen could really do with one to get off the mark...

If owen stays fit he should start banging them in though - he's never been short of em in the past

I've been a defender of Carrick in the past, but yes, that was absolute shocker. I don't think I will be wearing my Carrick shirt for a while.

It is a fair point, I'd of given it to Rooney, excluding the defence Carrick would probably have been one of the last options.

I am very happy with the way the boys recovered in the weeked. Thrilled all 3 leading scorers scored, Berba and Mickey have to support Wazza while he takes on the mantle of being our main man. Having a Portuguese player score off a free kick helped remind me of some good times from the past couple of years as well!

Am very intrigued to see what midfield we have this week against a very in-form arse

It will be interesting Rich because Carrick seems out of favour, Anderson is as well so we look bare in an already weak (in comparison to elsewhere on the pitch) position. A lot of people have thought we should strengthen in that area but I don't think Fergie will, he's too stubborn.

So Fletcher is a given, and the other may well go to Giggs, with Park playing on the left as he will work hard and help out. On that note if Carrick doesn't play it will be interesting to see how he is used this season, and what's gone on behind the scenes there.

In my whinge of the morning, Carlos Tevez is really starting to f*ck me off! Would he stop being a little bitch and enjoy his 150k a week wages while playing less games than he did while at United? Carlos, you scored 5 goals for us in the EPL last year, we liked you cos you tried hard, but really, 25million quid and massive wages? Piss off. And stop whinging!

Someone needs to tell the media this, I haven't been missing him this season at all.

Yeah, he's been portrayed in the media as being a bit bigger than he really is. Bring on that bloody derby

congrats on beating the Arsenal.
for sure you were no show until Rooney went Swan Lake but you hung in there

Vidic is a great player, he'd look good in an Arsenal shirt for sure.

Champion teams win games they shouldn't , I think today is one of those occasions.

there was contact. I am not angry about the pen one bit. Almunia misjudged it, rooney played for it, end of. I would expect an arsenal player to do the same, and i would expect the ref to give it. Just a yellow because rooney wouldn't have scored if almunia hadnt touched him, in my opinion, as tough as it is to say, i think the ref made the right call.

Well not exactly a convincing first half, rooney very isolated and lots of stray passes and wasted possesion. But whatever, will always take any kind of 3 points from arsenal, especially if it gets arsene as riled up as he was today - hillarious!!!

Its going to take a while to get the right combo's in there with the midfield but as i recall Carrick has had a slow-ish start to the season for the last 3 years now. Good things take time, he'll come right with games and he'll be threading them near impossible balls through to the front men again in no time.

Fletcher man on the match (again) IMO.

Begin Rant:
And im sick of hearing the commentators go on about how Ben the man Foster is having a "shaky start to the season" coz of a couple of sh*te pass-backs in the charity shield! It was a month ago FFS and he been cracker so far this season. Only conceding 2 goals and both were arguably crackers that the defenders should have cleared / closed down before there was even time to take the shots.....
End of Rant :)

Foster is rubbish he flaps at everything and looks as nervous as Muhammad Ali's twitch in goal.

Three for me, and two for them.
