Don't be so hard on yourself, you get to win something every now and then

If Arsenal or United don't won this year I owe someone a PS3 game So lets just say I'd rather Arsenal than Chelsea.Michael2010-01-28 23:03:35

Rio gets a four match ban nothing. Bean sums it up nicely.

United had argued the incident was identical to when Perennial strugglers Perennial strugglers Perennial strugglers Perennial strugglers Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano swung and caught Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford during a Carling Cup clash four months ago.

The FA took no action because, having reviewed the video, referee Alan Wiley said he would not have sent off Mascherano had he seen the incident.

But, in the United case, official Steve Bennett insisted he would have dismissed Ferdinand had he witnessed the foul on Fagan.

That argument did not go down well with United or Graham Bean, the former FA compliance officer who fought the charge on Ferdinand's behalf.

Bean had recommended United accept the charge but only because he believes such cases are always weighted in the FA's favour.

Last night, an angry Bean told SunSport the FA was "incompetent".

Bean said: "This decision highlights the total inconsistency in the FA's procedures.

"There are two identical cases and yet two different outcomes.

"How can you run an adequate and respected process with such incompetence in the ranks?

"They are effectively asking the official to re- referee the game.

Oh, and if you actually have a case when you appeal you get extra match ban.

Furthermore, the Independent Commission felt that the players claim against the charge was frivolous and on that basis have awarded an additional one match ban upon the statutory three match ban awarded for violent conduct.

its a 50-50 call as to whether anything would happen in the same situation with another player at another club. because its united, and because its rio they decide to make an example...

Bull sh*t but what can you do?

once again will have to monkey together a back four for a very important fixture!

Rio should be out, it's a fair cop
and I agree consistency is not always apparent.

What's with an extra match for not accepting the charge?! Doesn't sound like due process to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if the exact same team from city this Sunday except Vidic for Rio.

In saying that I would be surprised if we played a 4-4-2 some how including Nani, Valencia and Giggs while excluding Scholes.

is it just me or do you guys generally play a 4-5-1 type setup in the big away games?

Based on what Michael said I would expect something like this;

         Van der Sar
Rafael-Vidic-Evans-Evra
     Carrick-Fletcher
Valencia-Scholes-Giggs
            Rooney

Although fergie can sometimes surprise with his choices in big games too... park to get a runout even?

Yeah I like the look of this. Dunno whether he will make Scholes play two in a week though.

But this isn't about Arsenal fans. It's about United fans.

I wonder how many coins will get thrown at the Emirates this weekend.

Happens all the time.  NRL does it too.  Even NZ judiciary system with plea bargains.

By not accepting the charge, the issue wasnt resolved for the CC match vs City, if he accepted it he would have started his ban immediatleyruling him out for the derby. either way he would have been ruled out for the Arsenal match

There are low lives supporting all teams?
Arsenal supporters booed Champbell for years after he left Arsenal.
I think you should just grow up?

No. They booed Cole. And it's gotten rather petty now and no i'm not a fan of it.

Also why are you questioning what you think?

I agree it is petty.
But you are wrong- it was Campbell and later Cole.

Regardless, I think booing is low life. Know heeps of different sports do it - it is still crap.
I rememder now it was Spurs that kept booing Campbell for years. I find this all very childish.

Nani. wow. great first half, although 2-0 is a bit harsh on arsenal.  c'mon boys, hold on to the lead!

quality performance! Nani was great and Rooney was brilliant.

the young right back went good too and Park put in a power of work. Great result away from home and even better considering it looked like you had 3 first choice defenders/midfielders out. Don't see ya getting to Chelsea but considering that fact I don't think you have really played 'that well' this season, the injury issues and the travesty of the ownership structure all credit to still be in the hunt for the run in.

Congrats on the result. great game of football and the difference was you guys having players who are in form and able to finish off attacking moves.

Well that was a top performance, we were on the money right from the outset. Nani was wonderful again, that Hull match may have been a turning point for him. Long may that form continue, I really do think he was on his last chance at United not long ago.

Rafael and Evans were brilliant, so was Evra actually, and Carrick in the middle... and of course Wayne, who was just unbelievable with his running and power. The run he made for his goal was ridiculous.

This was a performance that makes me believe the title race isn't one horse, Arsenal weren't helped by no strikers, but Arshavin is a good player and so is Fabregas but we dealt with them easily.

Getting up at 5 after the mother of all weekends in Christchurch was really not fun, but it was a good reward. Just gotta get through work today now!

Fantasic game and awesome result, I'm wrapped.

If Nani can play like he did in the first half every week he'd be one of the best players in the world. Clichy will be having nightmares tonight.
Hopefully it's a sign of things to come as opposed to a flash in the pan.
