Yeah, Tevez can play more centrally but SAF likes 433 at the mo with CR7 spearheading the attack (as berbatov has not been all that flash) and players with higher workrates, rooney, park and tevez on the flanks. this is for bigger matches, ie champs league, against weaker opposition cr7 is deployed on the flanks. Ribery would be better than park or tevez on the flanks and can allow cr7 to play up front and switch with rooney

I am going with benzema as a bit of a gamble, has tremendous pace and could be Torresish.

Lyon made the first knockout stage this year where they ran into Barcelona and lost 6-3 over two legs, last year same stage and lost to Man Utd 2-1 over two legs and have gone past the group stages for sometime. Even topped a group including real madrid a few years ago. Lille have also gotten past the group stages in recent seasons and I would expect Bordeaux to do the same next year, Gourcuff is a great player.

I don't think it's too much of  as stretch to see that Benzema is going to be an immense player.

I don't think there will be a lot of change at United this summer, provided Tevez stays. If he leaves, then another foward / winger will come in (possibly Valencia).

The only change I see would be Valencia in for Nani if Tevez sticks round.

The rumours around Ronaldo and Vidic eill only occur if SAF wants them to leave, and I highly doubt that. Big players don't leave unless he wants them to, with the possible exception of Pique last year.

I would lyk to see ribery at united but the only chance of that happening is if cr7 went goes to madrid, as Bayen want 60ish million Euro's? Even then Valencia , Silva would be a cheeper option?Even give Nani/ Park abit more game time even thou they are averge. Didnt SAF buy one/two serbia/??? wingers in Jan?

Benezema could be good buy as long as they dont spend over 20-25millionpounds on him.

Regardless what happens, I think an attacking mid is necessary and up to 3 other attackers could be needed if Nani, Tevez and Ronaldo all go. TBH I think it would have to be someone similar but more all round to fil in for Nani until he returns from a loan (Ribery, Silva, Valencia?), another workhorse for Tevez, Berba has proven that we need busier players to keep using SAF's system, but he won't want to give up on such a big signing yet. Who fit's that mold? Ronaldo leaving would require a truly world class replacement. Ibrahimovic? Take a chance on Ronaldinho? More of a spearhead like Eto'o?

I am a member of Talking Reds which is the Official Forum of Manchester United. Its really good because theres so many memebers there are always heaps of people online. Some of the rumours on there seem to be ridiculous ie Berbatov leaving etc etc
The general consensis among United fans is that we need a creative midfielder in the center of the park, a striker to replace Tevez, a left midfielder and possibly a defensive midfielder depending on Hargreaves fitness.
My choices for these positions are.
ST Karim Benzema or Samuel Eto'o. We need three world class strikers, currently we have two. barcelona had three in the CL final.
CAM - Tim Cahill, Yoann Gourcuff or Ronaldinho
CDM - Miguel Veloso or Danielle De Rossi
LM - Really want Ribery but we cant afford him. In that case my first choices would be Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young

UNited probly wont have enough money for all four, maby three ST,CAM and LM. I doubt they need another CDM when they have Carrick and Fletcher and Scholes and Anderson who can play in that position

YEa I agree but many of the United fans feel that Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson are really good CMs but arent out and out defensive mids. I think CAM LM and ST are our main concerns though, your Everton boy Tim Cahill wouldnt be a bad signing for United

If Ronaldo leaves we will be able to afford whoever we like, that's how much Real will have to pay. Plus if we sign four players this summer (or winter for us) then I'll be deadset dreaming. When was the last time we did that? 2004 I reckon, when we lost Beckham and rejigged our team.

We already have the structure of one of the best sides in the world, sure a sh*te match against Barca is stirring everyone up but 4 players is like a squad overhaul for SAF. Won't happen with the young team we have.

One player will come in if Nani leaves, one player if Carlos leaves. Valencia rumours have good a tad quiet actually. Villa won't come, he's going to Madrid, Ronaldinho? That's some sort of joke I'm sure.

Fergie is a fan of Benzema but he will be very expensive. Eto'o is interesting actually, he could be a very good addition (Eto'o and Berba could be a good strike partnership), but I think it's likely Moneybags City will throw a whole lot of Pounds to go play over there. I doubt Zlatan will be worth the big money he will comand.

While I am throwing a bit of cold water round, I just think it's worth thinking about just how succesful thiis team is, and there will only be one or two changes at this stage.

Just like to clarify that Berbatov will be staying at Old trafford!! he was bought for 30.5 million pounds we not going to let him go after one season.

Actim stats assess all the premier league games. In essence they run a thing where players are allocated points for things they do. The points are allocated in a similar way to the scoring for things such as Fantasy Football/NRL/Rugby are allocated. Except this is in much more depth. Berbatov scored fourth highest in the premier league. Game time etc is taken into account and is averaged out to find a total score. He was the only Man Utd player in the top 10 and Tevez who people say should be staying instead of him wasnt even in the top 100.

You cant argue with the facts

I would love to give Gourcuff a go, but he has just signed a new long term contract at Bordeaux. Miguel Veloso is interesting and has been rumoured (along with Jao Moutinho) for a few seasons now but no approaches, I am assuming we still have some deal with Sporting so picking up these players shouldn't be that hard if we really wanted them. Read today that Bolton were rumoured for a bid on Veloso as a replacement for Muamba. LM we have signed Tosic, but would love a world class proven player like Ribery.

I am gutted about Diego going to Juve, I thought he would have filled the AM mid role perfectly. He is a class act.

He got bigger than the club... good to see we're not going to keep players who have a cry when they get rested. Of cause we're going to miss a large part of United's game (His FKs) But a lot of United bashing will drop now...

Who will replace him though? And in NZD its $205.473million. Who said Recession?

Although not a United fan myself, you can guarantee the club will find a more than ample replacement, that's why they are so damn successful. if I was SAF, I would be looking within the club though, some of the best prospects have cost him nothing, just like Beckham in his youth.

Read an article by Andy Gray today and he was saying that Tevez just isnt worth the price tag. Sure he runs alot and is a good player but Gray reckons that hes not world class and i tend to agree with him. Also, when you sign for a club like Man Utd you have to accept that your not going to play every game, no matter how good you are. anyone who goes whining in public about no game time should be kicked out before they leave themselves. I would love to see Ribery but I have a feeling it wont happen. Fergie obviously has plans because they wouldnt have let Real talk to Ronny unless they have a replacement or two lined up.

SAF's got a history of getting rid of players like that, Beckham, Keane, Van Nistleroy to name a few.

Be interesting to see how he gets on at Real where he won't play every week and La Liga is different to the EPL. Plenty of "superstars" have tried and failed.

Stick the little t**ser up there in the list of traitors.  There was a rumour that Robben might make the reverse journey to Old Trafford.  SAF a big admirer apparently and he will probably be surplus at Real.  But as we know, he's very injury prone.

Tevez - good, but not THAT good.  Would love to see Riberry in the EPL, hopefully in a blue shirt.
