Great effort boys, would of been better if it was 3-1.

Ronaldinho was great in first half, but then his beer belly got the better of him in the 2nd half (except for the late assist...)

Deserved lead to take back to old trafford, hopefully giggsy will be ok to replace the suspended carrick.

Nani again baffles the sh*t out of me, he was aweful...again! Man how stocky does rafael look with his locks cut off! lol!

Carrick's sending off was complete rubbish - its not like he booted it into the stands.

If you kick the ball away you will be booked. Tells me how smart he is with a few minutes left.
That was his worst game for a few weeks.
He has been playing very well.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

You don't get a second for dragging it in front of a player running past you.

It's only one game ban, and it happens in quite convenient time. Man Utd should be ok without him in 2nd leg,  and he gets clean board when it comes to yellow cards for next rounds.

Suggest you look up the laws of the game?

"At the end of the day, it is down to the referee to make judgements about a players actions and the punishment they deserve"
...
"Wasting time in order to delay the match restarting."

Barely wasting any time, and doesn't deserve to be sent. Ref just had to pull it out to (typically) flaunt there power when its not even necessary .Michael2010-02-18 22:40:59

So pumped. Bless Saturday games - can't wait! Got no Red Bull so after having to put up with silly australian football here's hoping it will be a fantastic match or I may just fall a sleep.

Nah scratch that, never fall asleep during a United match. WOOOOO.Michael2010-02-20 22:29:05

Seeing as we're probably all a bit down about the result, and this thread is on it's 99th page, I thought I'd post this:

You don't deserve anything better if your defence plays like this. First and last goals are a joke.
Wes Brown - sometimes I wonder if this boy knows what is he doing on the pitch. Unbelievable mistakes for this level of football.

TO be fair neither are first choice. I agree with Wes Brown, he plays crap and just before everyone gets ready to forget about him he has a decent performance.

Nice, easy win - that's what Man Utd need now.
Rio Ferdinand out with injury for Sunday.

That goal was a ripper, three great touches from three different players... great stuff. Wish I had seen the goals but I was at work, thinking of taking the morning off for the Milan return. Don't want to miss that.

Hardley, he has not played that many games at all.
Still have heaps of good players.

dont suppose theres any early birds up watching the Carling cup final? very much all Utd

Good form from Man Utd, pretty close in 1st half. AV was a bit unlucky in some cases, especially in last 10 minutes (when Carew got introduced on the pitch).
Owen's injury might be the final blow for him when it comes to World Cup squad selection chances.

Yeah I got up to watch it, it was a good performance in the end, despite the fact that Vidic should have been sent off.

Valencia was very good, as was Park I thought. Of course Rooney had to score the winner, thats just how he is at the moment. Owen's finish was outstanding before he went off injured.

Good to have another trophy, to defend our cup, and that should set us up for the rest of the season. We are about where we want to be I reckon.

The thing that astounds me is the fact that no one has made any comment on Unted winning the Carling Fup Final.
That tells me that all the rest a a bunch of w**kerS.

EXACTLY. He was being sarcastic when he said Anderson's injury is the end of our title challenge. (Hence implying it doesn't change anything)

As for the Carling Cup, I was waiting for it to download as I missed the live stream and wanted to watch the entire match.

It was a fiiine match. Vidic seems to be getting a bit too big headed for my liking. I think him going to our dust bin (Real Madrid) is a real possibility.
