United have been 2nd best all day.  Haven't looked like scoring.  Not sure how the lino missed that.

Alex will now get some form of warning and then we'll get the same c**t "lining" the City match without any punishment, I'd put money on it.

f**king offside. dammit
Permalink Permalink

What the f**k? One metre offside, that is f**king ridiculous. That linesman should be f**king shot and never be allowed to officiate any game ever again!

what makes me even f**king angrier is that we just scored and the score should be 1-1. f**k YOU LINESMAN

Macheda punched it into the net, so it evens out.

Three for me, and two for them.

Alarm didn't go off. So missed the game. Kinda disappointed to be honest. Sounds full of controversy.

Loved the bickering on the other page.  I lol'd heartily.

I watched this game with about 10 United supporters who were beautifully one-eyed.  They were fuming over the offside (fair enough) but couldn't see how it effectively got evened out by a handball goal.

A draw would have been perfect but was not going to happen - Chelsea were the far better side.

Wow apparantely was the first game to be broadcast (in some pubs) in 3-D. Story was on 3 news!

Missed some of the info so not sure how many pubs did it.

Second time in a week that United were second best(first half anyway) To day there were at least 4 players who were having poor games and when you are playing a team at least as good as you, then you are going to get beaten. That is what happened and it was a fair result over the 90mins.
I said months ago that Chelsea would win the lesgue, and although there is still hope I think they will.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

i thought giggs was quiet (not so much poor), scholes was bad and neville was very bad. he should probably think of giving it up.

Not to mention Fletch and Park were having miserable days. That's the entire midfield out.

fletcher played alright. scholes was off and neville was being dicked by malouda, should have subbed him for rafael, at least he has the pace to keep up with him.

i can't get why everyone is going on "oh but you guys got a handball goal"

what seems more obvious to you? a striker that is one metre in front of the defensive line right in front of the linesman?

or a striker who is in the middle of a jumble in the box who charges the ball in the midst of a lot of defenders and manages to contact with his hand.

referee got both wrong, but should have easily got the offside right.

even easier would have been to award a penalty for nevilles jump/tackle/fall on malouda thing
Permalink Permalink

i thought berba was ok but wasnt getting alot of service, the difference with rooney is he would have gone back and got the ball himself and created something. both very different strikers

I think I am one of Utd's biggest supporters, but the fact is they were NOT the best team on the day.
If you are looking for average performances, in the first half for sure. Neville,Scholes, Fletcher,Park, Valencia and Evra. You cannot expect any team to foot it with Chelsea with so many players being off.
We had no pace and when Narni came on things changed.
He should have started.

Disagree with part of this... Berba was coming back to get the ball when he shouldn't of. He was playing his general supporting striker role when he really needed to just sit as far forwards as possible as a lone striker.

except in Park's case, the defender got the ball.

Neville wasn't even close to getting the ball.

neville's "challenge" was a definite penalty, surely no one could argue with that

park's more arguable, but i still thought it could easily have been given as well. He made the most of it but there was contact and the defender was clumsy

all in all i think a fair result today?

The defender got the ball after he took Park out. Even the commentators agree.

But yes, we deserved to lose.Michael2010-04-04 22:04:00

Deserved win for Chelsea. But can't agree with all the hype about Neville foul and penalty. For me he just blocked Malouda (or was it Anelka actually?) so Vidic/Rio (not sure here) can kick the ball away. This is how I see it.

he jumped on him and took him to the ground, as clear a penalty as you will see

He blocked Chelsea player and fall to the ground. Looked a bit agressive, but still no penalty for me.

not a good week for neville. first getting run ragged by malouda now having to face ribery.

I would rather see Rafael on the pitch. Neville doesn't keep up in tight games like vs Bayern or Chelsea.
