Hull City fans chanting "Stand up if your in Europe". Brilliant.

Of course it is good banter, but realistically it is pretty stupid as Hull have never achieved  anything. At least they are in the FA Cup final and who knows what will happen. Over the years there have been massive upsets.

It is realistic though. Hull are in europe, ManU aren't.

If James Wilson is going to be part of next season's plans then surely you have to sell Hernandez at the very least. Of course he could just be another Macheda. It's good to see that LVG is basically confirmed. I think he is the right person but I still expect next season to be quite difficult.

I was lucky enough to referee Everton youth v Manchester United youth at the semi finals of the Dallas Cup in 2012. All these names (Wilson, Lingard, Keane, Lawrence for MU and Ross Barkley for Everton) so it's quite amazing to see them play first team EPL football and puts the big leagues of football in perspective. At the time, they were just another footballer and to see them running about on TV is quite surreal.

Back on topic. So announcement has to be immediately after this weekend 's game due to LVG commitments with Dutch national team. The Brit press are saying giggs is likely to be no2 man. Pros and cons there, but when is there not with a new gaffer?
Can't see any major surprises. Anyone got another view? Dark horse etc.

I think this is a done deal. Giggs will probably be no 2 but in reality he has no right to that. Giggs would be unable to attract the players we need to get back to the top. With LVG we have the typical Dutch arrogance, but at least with the pedigree and he will bring quality players.

Not a problem, as you mentioned we are getting our very own Dutchy.

Why would they sack a manager for winning the FA Cup?

Three for me, and two for them.

I don't think he'll get the sack if we lose but by all hell will it be a horrible dark day if we do.

Surely you have to be confident for this game? If Utd  were playing Hull (with all due respect) I would be very confident.

Do you really want United to keep van Persie and build a side around him? Surely that's what van Gaal is likely to do.

The problem I have with RVP is I am not sure that he is 100% fit. He was last season and was superb. With his age he needs to be injury free and if he is then he will be one of the best strikers in the league.

History shows that's REALLY unlikely. You got the best season out of him in his entire career last year. Lightning wont strike twice.

Unfortunately I have to agree.

The risk with RVP is that you keep him but lose Welbeck who I think has shown he can be a starting striker for us. Welbeck is actually a player we have developed at our club. Even Hernandez is better value for money than RVP. We shouldn't let players like that go. Juan Mata is who we should be building the club around and I think he works best behind a sole striker.

Welbeck is the most overrated striker in England. I agree about Hernandez.

I think it was crystal clear that the team lacked confidence from the moment moyes took over..They didn't appear to know what was required. He didn't appear to know his best team or what style of play he wanted to execute. Louie however has the ego to know what he wants, and it will be his way or the highway. That could present giggs with some challenges if he does end up as number 2. While it might work I can also see value in giggs managing elsewhere for a bit after an apprenticeship or right now. I think giggs needs the senior players to move on before he manages Man U.

Can't quite see your point. One should always be confident.
By the way we have beaten both Liverpool and Arsenal this season.

That's what happens when a team "desperate" for new defenders come knocking, and you hold all the cards. MAN U will get shafted on all transfer deals this off season. just wait and see.

When the whole world knows your in need, that's when the knives come out.

Happened to Arsenal enough times in recent memory to know the signs.
