You and the rest of the haters are the only ones that actually care. The score was 3-1. get over it.

A bit like Henry cheating in the WC against Ireland.

A lost a lot of respect for Henry when that happened, and thought it was the right call when I saw him playing for the Red Bulls, just going around and putting in a lot of niggly little fouls.

My word United fans are a defensive bunch these days. Come on lads, I know Fergie leaving and Moyes dragging you to 7th must have been a bit of a shock, but you've got a manager who at least has a track record of trophies and has some pull (unlike Moyes), so there's probably some sort of hope you'll improve in the future. No need to lash out everytime someone dare passes comment on your club in a fashion that isn't completely positive. Remember lads, it's banter.

Three for me, and two for them.

Funny game football. For 18 games you play badly and don't lose and then you play better than you have all season and don't win.

With the exception of Jones, Blind and Di Maria everyone else was OK.

As least getting up in the middle of the night to watch that was better than usual.

Don't want to clog up another clubs thread so I will reply here.

As mentioned, I don't 'hate' Arsenal or any other club. As you have mentioned here Buffon,

We have to start the game as we mean to finish. It takes us 45 mins to get going and against good sides that will be curtains. Sunderland offered less than anything that we have faced so far. Should have been 4/5. Were never really troubled, which is just as well with Evans and Smalling both playing. Blind better than last week but nowhere as good as he was a couple of months ago. With some very tough games in the next month or so we need to keep winning and hope those around us fall over.

Now now, Smalling had a great game. Credit where credits due.

I did not say he had a poor game, I just mentioned that playing him and Evans does not fill me with confidence. With due respect to Sunderland, he had a 90 min cushion ride. The test is yet to come looking at the fixtures. We need to win at least seven of our remaining games which won't be easy, and even if we do there is no guarantee. Some years ago Liverpool got 76 points and were fourth and in 2011 Arsenal were fourth with 68.

Should've won in first half imo. Mind you they should've had a penalty, still.

I'm going to be optimistic here; when teams actually attack against us I think we're going to a much better and faster performance. Even in SAF days we would have games like this, camped in front of the opposition's goal.

3 points. Januzaj looking fly. Di Maria sucks on the right, he needs to play as a LCM sort of thing - I have no idea how you'd make that work with the likes of Young. Good to see Carrick back.

I reckon vs Arsenal we could go with something like:

-------------------DDG
Valencia Smalling Rojo Young
-------Herrera Carrick Blind
Januzaj -------Rooney ----Di Maria

(Yeh I just contradicted myself with Di Maria)

Perhaps LVG slipped him something before the game.

It's just a hilariously bad clearance. Young must have thought it was his birthday.

So if he wasn't playing Newcastle would have scored?

It was pretty unlucky. He could not pick it up, was under pressure from Rooney and he just swung a leg at it. It could have gone into touch if he had struck it right, but that is the way it goes sometimes. It was the only thing Young did right all evening.

I actually thought Young has played very well at left back. Same deal with Valencia. Obviously I don't want those two players playing there next season but they wouldn't be there in the ifrst place if tohers were doing their job. This has been a bloody frustrating season but as it stands we are sitting in 4th place. The games coming up are way harder though.

That Angry Di Maria Twitter account will be going off (pun intended) tonight.

I'm gutted united are out actually, I'd have loved the chance for Stevie G to play an FA Cup final vs United to bow out with.

Probably got what we deserved with players that defended like an under 12 side. I said 6 months ago that until we got at least two class defenders we would struggle. In saying that we have lost less games than all except the top two. I saw enough to see that there is a lot of talent in this side and we are only going to get better.

Had a bad feeling about this game but am confident we will win against them on the 16th May.

I'm currently reading Alex Fergusons autobiography and he mentions in there that he always built his sides around a solid centre back pairing. Also admits that he made a huge mistake selling Jaap Stam.

Your banter is shark, especially considering RVP.

You and buffy can jerk off else where

paulm I would agree, but this is literally all 'Arsenal' does. First win at OT in years and it took a United boy to set it up and a United boy to score it.

Would the Arsenal thread appreciate such a shit posts?

Two. So a) you can't count properly, and b) you don't know where the FA Cup semis are played. Not too clever I have to say.

I'm pretty sure a Ecuadorian boy set it up. Cheers for that.

How is Welbeck a "United boy" anyway? You didn't want him. By the same logic, that's an "Arsenal boy" winning you that trophy in that photo isn't it?

Welbeck is not a United boy, although I'm not sure he thinks that.

RVP did not win us the trophy. Along with the rest of the squad his contribution was massive.

As yet Danny has 'won ' you nothing.

What a fantastic game. best performance in 2 years. Carrick again, the unsung hero. Erikson, imo Tottenham's most important creative player, absolutely nullified. Young and Blind had a fantastic day. So did Herrera and Mata.

Fellaini scored and was a presence, a good game. I can't help but say he'd still be the first person to be dropped from that line up because his general play on the ball isn't there.

Rooney celebration class. Good to have some off the ball movement from a striker as well.

Anyway, great game. Really enjoyed it.
