Spot on there. Your style of football certainly isn't worth writing about that's for sure.

Agree, but being 2nd is also important and better than 10th playing fantastic football.

I'd rather be playing football like Man Utd and 2nd than playing like us an 6th, personally!

I don't blame him. If I were Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Mata, Herrera, or Shaw I'd be out the door.

Bit daft taking the high ground here... losing 3-1 to Swansea certainly wasn't beautiful football.

Not taking any high ground. Not arguing that we were awful against Swansea either. But your style is rubbish.

I am not defending him. It was just a stupid comment.
Like him or not, we would not be 2nd had he not been the manager.
Unlike another manager that has systematically destroyed his team over the last few years.

All players listed are currently dwiddling their careers away either on the bench or in the wrong position in the wrong system. All of them would be playing much better football elsewhere.

Currently in second. Currently in CL. Currently in FA cup.
I would much rather be in United's situation than any other team in the league. Including City's because they cant continuously keep throwing money at their problems. They might be alright now after buying nearly an entire squad in the past 2/3 seasons, but you cant do that on a regular basis.
I would much rather be in United's situation than any other team in the league.
Got to admire this level of delusion.

I'm agreeing with you for once. I'd much rather be where City is - I don't see any reason they can't keep doing what they have been. Wouldn't trade with anyone else in the league though.

Rashford has played in every single game this season. Shaw is coming back into favour after being out injured. Pogba starts almost every game. Martial is clearly loving it at the club and is having a much improved year from last season.
Herrera, because he's been poor this season, and Mata, becuase he is seeing less minutes, but aside from that that is one of the dumbest comments I've read on here.
I think you lot are just projecting he fact that Wenger is still your manager onto us. I'd have Mou over any manager in the league, bar Pep.

I agree Klopp is overrated.
But must admit through gritted teeth that Pochettino has been very very good. He hasn't won anything, but I don't think he's got enough quality players to win things. Obviously Kane is high high quality, but Alli, Eriksen, Dier etc are all overrated for me, they are made to look good thanks to an excellent team mentality and a fluid style. It doesn't seem to matter who he puts on the park, they understand each other and play like a real team. I don't think they have the quality to really push on and start winning things, and I think Pochettino and Kane will go on to bigger clubs, but that doesn't distract from what they've done there. And all that is just a follow-on from Pochettino's success at Southampton, where he made guys like Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez look like real quality. He's a manager who really does bring out the best in players, like Wenger was capable of once, but seemingly not any longer.
Didn't this Tekkers bloke also try claim Lukaku was as good as Kane?
Maybe football isn't for him.

I'm very guilty of it. Usually takes me a lot longer than others to realise when an Arsenal player isn't up to standard.
I think the Liverpool fans are massively blinkered by Klopp in this way. It's understandable though, he is a very likeable bloke, and when they win, they win in exhilarating fashion.

I just do not enjoy the whole experience with what you get with Pep. For solely the on field performances, yea its good to watch and it is an effective system for the majority of situations. I did expect more teams to be able to defend compactly and counter but now that that has been bashed and frowned upon, no one wants to do it.
But he is quick to buy, cast aside and replace too many players. His long term squad management is yet to live up to the hype. His reluctance to promote youth players is poor at City and Bayern. He was lucky that he inherited an aging squad which allowed him to buy a large number of players.
Maybe it is nore of a reflection about how i enjoy my football but long term development and being effective and efficient, if not pretty, is more enjoyable for me than high turnover and short term results.

And a lot of the bias comes with the certainty about what you have got vs the uncertainty in buying a player / changing a manager.
You could put Klopp in charge at Arsenal and maybe the attack would improve and the pressing. But would the defenders defend any better? Would he buy more of the same players or different?
Football discussion is great because nothing is certain

These exact same criticisms can and have been justifiably directed at Mourinho.
Your argument here is very weak, and obviously biased.
Mourinho is infamously focussed on the short term. Guardiola has left all his jobs by choice, whereas Mourinho has been forced out every time, in the same pattern - short term success, then falls out with squad and club management and moves on. He is the epitomy of the short term manager.

I support a great football club, that currently has a lot of great players and has had a lot of great players before that. A number of which have been developed within the club and others that have been bought to perform now.
I would rather not make rash, unsubstantiated conclusions about players, managers and teams..
Success for some is failure for others.

I agree with those criticisms of Mourinho, and i had the same doubts when he came in. Some of the things he was known for were totally conflicting with Uniteds philosphies.
But it has been pretty obvious that the United Mourinho has been different. Probably because the club has wanted him to fulfil a different purpose and not just win us a big trophy now. Right now, there are indicators that Mourinho has changed his short term focus and i have faith in that.
How has he been different? What are these indicators?
I also don't think his squad turnover is in any way comparable to Pep.
There's also no indication that he's moving on short term from this job.

I cant find the exact stats about the ages of the players bought, but 7 in three seasons vs his next lowest of 13 in three seasons at Madrid.
That Mctominay kid looked quite decent in the short period I saw him playing the other week.
Those are pretty good indicators I guess. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. The rest of this season is pretty crucial to Mourinho's career at ManU I would think.
You guys are constantly referring to his position in the league as a sign of progress, it's key he stays there really. If you end up 5th, or perhaps even 3rd/4th, and win no trophies, then it wouldn't look much like progress.
Still, perhaps finishing above us would be enough, no one has done it since Ferguson ;)

Finishing above you would not necessarily win us anything, but we have won 3 trophies in the last couple of years-- one being a European one.:)

All this harp about Rashford getting so much game time except he spends it all in the wrong position. Rashford would be as highly rated as Mbappe if he were playing as a striker for Monaco in the french league but he isn't, he's out of form and molding into average-ness because Mourinho has decided he's a winger.
In my opinion, Martial is one of the best dribblers on earth but he needs to be through his highs and lows, and he needs to be put in situations where there aren't 5 defenders around him. We haven't seen this since LVG.
I disagree that Herrera has been playing poorly. The few games he has played this year that I recall he again, did his job.
Don't buy into this story the Mou is playing youth either. Take Gomes for example, sure he had a kick around but his chance of actually starting a game in his best position (CAM) is non-existent. Guaranteed if Mou sticks with us for a couple of years Gomes' only game time is on the wing and he too slips towards mediocrity.
McTominay is the exemption.
I'm not criticising Mourinho's performance. Meerly pointing out that from an individual players point of view the grass will be looking greener and greener on the other side.

So winning the Europa is minor?
