Hi Mark. I'm surprised the club haven't brought in a big name to be honest. Although I think 2 of the Italian boys could be a complete surprise for the other Championship clubs. At least we are no paying ridiculous pay packets that some are. To me, this could well be an interesting season. I love the new Home kit and the Badge is quite good. I hope to pick one up this season via the post.

Thanks Coxey, a great peice. Oh and that bit about the game at Roker park, Sunderland were proudly displaying the FA Cup and the QPR lads had taken bets before the game as to who could hit it off the table with the football. Stan won the bet much to the annoyance of the Sunderland fans. He hit it  flush on too! Lonegunmen2008-07-27 23:53:42

Yep, be interesting to see if he is given any room to play or if the opposition try and kick him out of the game.  We've got him for one year and the club are negotiating a second year if we get promoted and possibly a chance to sign him permanently.

I see on the team list that you have Fitz Hall, he was one of Downies favourites at Oldham.
Is he a recent buy, thought he was at Wigan?
06 Aug 10:08 · edited 09 Sep 05:03
He was at Wigan but came to us. Had a great 2nd half of the season too. All QPR need to do is lose Damion Stewart somewhere, we've gotten rid of Rehman, one more to go and our defence will be decent.

Fitz Hall, 2 goals in 2 minutes!! Ledesma running the show in the first half. Parejo in the second half? On the bench at the mo.

Fitz Hall missed a second half penalty and his hattrick chance. Parejo came on and was almost immediately tonked by Barnsley and van Homoet receied a red card for his effort. Parejo was not too injured thankfully. On this display Ledesma & Parejo really do look the goods.

Watched the Barsley highlights on QPR World. LGM do you listen to the match commentary on there?
It's great to see Lee Cook back again. Lots of exciting options in attack and that's with Rowlands, Buzsaky and Ephraim to still come into the picture. Still looking for a consistent goalscorer though (like probably nearly every side in the Championship) Let's hope the defence can form a solid base. are we going to alternate the keepers? I'm a big fan of Camp and hope he gets a decent run.

Oops can't spell Barnsley.
Does anyone have contact details for the fanzine "A Kick Up The Rs"? Used to get it when I was in the UK and subscribed for a while back in NZ. That was a quality 'zine. I hear they are developing a website too - can't wait.

Yes, I listen to the games, well as many as I can due to shift work. I used to 'borrow" a friends account but this year I subscribed.  AKUTR's I think you can buy thu subscription from Dave Thomas (Not the former winger genius).

I read a season preview for the Championship today from 4-4-2.  It ranked QPR as a 6-1 chance of promotion this season. Might be stretching it but isn't it great to feel on the up and up?

I'd say our odds are gonna be shortened. In Daniel Parejo on loan from Real Madrid and Manny Ledesma on loan from an Italian Club we are going to go places. Ledesma is outshining Parejo at the moment but We're expecting the big clubs to come sniffing around when their reputations hit the headlines. They are both showing glimpses of exceptional talent. Which comes as a pleasant surprise after years of mediocrity.

A pathetic effort with only Lee cook showing any form. The rest should refund the fans. Still myself and a few fans were also on a chatline while listening to the game, taking the piss out of the commentator who sounded like that guy from "The Life of Brian" who could pronounce his "R's" and his name pronounciations sucked!! This gem from Iain Dowie

"QPR boss Iain Dowie:
"Our inability to defend set plays cost us dearly. We're one of the biggest teams on the planet, so it's bizarre."

Please tell me he's literally talking about the size of your defenders yeah?

Initially I thought all the hype about your loaded investors had gone to his head already!

One thing that pisses me with the British media is how they keep harping on how our 3 rich owners have invested millions in the team. They haven't! Since the beginning of summer the club has spent a total of 250k on Kaspars Gorkss from Blackpool. The rest have been freebies or loans. They have spent dosh on new corporate facilities at the club and a few pots of paint. they did pay off the ABC loan of 10 Mill but they only loaned that money to the club at a lower interest rate.

We are not the biggest club, nor the richest. Our owners are of course VERY rich. Our owners have actually done us a favour by NOT buying our way such as the russian did at Chelski.  Our owners have set in place a process of self sustanability and should we get promotion then they will front up to get those players we need but then the TV money and our sponsors will make sure we are not in financial poo.

As for biggest teams, Fitz Hall, Gorkss, Ramage are big but not the biggest.

So to the british media which includes the Yorkshire Post, For f**ks Sake stop telling bullsh*t lies in the print and online about our board investing millions on players. It is not true!

Have you seen Dowie?? With a mug like that of course you're gonna say stupid things from time to time. Between him and Ian Holloway, we've had the two ugliest managers in football coaching us in the last 5 years!!

Not sure where you heard that quote WB but this was Dowie on the club website:

"We're among the largest teams in the Championship in terms of our size...."

(Which when I think about it could be interpreted in a number of ways! Not having spent any time in the Rangers dressing room I couldn't possibly comment).)

PS Didn't know you were an Rs fan.

Listening to the commentary sounded like a solid result. 2 good goals, a few other chances and pretty well shut Doncaster out of any of the action. Not much to shout about in the 2nd half but Dowie would have to be pleased with the clean sheet.

Yep Lonegunmen, bit the bullet this season. It could do with a few improvements but great to see the R's in action and the live commentary is pretty darn good. The access to other World sites is great too as I have an interest in a couple of other UK sides as well and they are all on PTV.

Hopefully the momentum is building. This must be one of the more exciting R's sides for a while isn't it? And that's with Vine and Buszaky still to come back into the picture. Parejo and Ledesma look pretty useful - hope the refs don't let them get kicked all over. Please may the lack of a finisher not bite us.

Buz is back in full training, After Brizzol we got that same break coming up, gonna be boring as hell. i only joined DUD World this season too. After 7 years of resistance. I find it better to download the clips in hi quality to see them best.

A mate of mine, Juzzie recorded the hattrick on HD TV and converted it all. It's a 42 meg file but worth the download. It's on QPRfans.net

When QPR came out here in '83 I stayed out at the Hotel in Mirimar with them and got on the piss. Stainrod was a good guy, great player, but a good guy, so too was Steve Wicks, Bob Hazell, Clive Allen. El Tel had just left for Barca so Alan Harris managed them out here. I'd met most of that squad in 1980 when I was there so catching up with them was great. A couple of nights on the turps and they beat a Wellington select 2-0 at the Basin.

Lets hope we end up with a similar sort of record this season!!
Watched Ledesma's hattrick the other night. All class finishes. A bit early though yet for the QPR faithful to be hailing him as the next Sinclair, Sinton or Bowles(!!!!!!!!!) after only a handful of games. Lets see how he's doing byJanuary - we'll have a better idea by then.
I'll be interested to see what happens with Loftus Road. I love the closeness and atmosphere of that ground. Sounds like a new stadium could be considered. If so hope they can stay in the proximity.
Interesting times.
