Celtic's tour Down Under has been confirmed for this winter with dates set for showpiece clashes with Central Coast Mariners, Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory.

An official from one of the HAL clubs involved confirmed the Euro super club will play Central Coast Mariners at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on July 3.

The Scottish Premier League superstars will then fly across country to face Perth Glory at nib Stadium on July 9.

They will then return to the east coast to play Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park on July 13 to wrap up the tour.

Ticket prices have yet to be confirmed.

Good luck to the mighty Well against Shelic in the Scottish Cup final tomorrow. I was lucky enough to be at Hampden Park, 20 years ago, to witness the last time Motherwell won the cup (I was dragged along by some Ayrshire Arabs).

The seven goal thriller ended Motherwell 4-3 Dundee United and here are the epic match highlights:

By the way, 57,000 is pretty decent turnout considering neither of the Old Farm made the final?

Do you think the Aussie sides will do a 3 - 0 clean sweep over Celtic?

That would have been funny, but Ceptic managed to beat Perth 2-0. They finish their OZ tour with a game against Melbourne Victory tomorrow. Good luck Marco!

Hopefully Ceptic/Rankers will head down under next close season and sneak in a visit to the ring of fire. I would love to see the Nix give them a doing.

By the way, a couple of quality Scottish fitba websites/forums:

That's the first time I've ever heard the Pie and Bovril site described as quality!

Fair enough, P&B does have it's fair share of keech. The only two sites worth a mention are:
wearethistle.co.uk
killiefc.com

Unfortunately Rojas could not stop Ceptic finish off their tour of OZ with a win last night.
Melbourne Victory 0-1 Celtic

By the way, do you agree with Stewart Petrie (ex Dunfermline and North Queensland Fury) that the the standard of the top half of the A-League is the same as the bottom half of the SPL?
Game really on its way up Down Under

Nice to see one of the Ugly Sisters drop home points on day one.

Up the Jambos!

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

The Jam Tarts should have had the game rapped up at half time but I sure that they would have been happy with a point at Castle Greyskull.

Here are the goals Rankers 1 v 1 Hearts

All the best to the mighty Saints and Inter Milan who are up against Rankers and Ceptic this weekend.

Scotland were handed a difficult draw in the 2014 World Cup, being paired with Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Wales and Macedonia in qualifying Group A.

There are no minnows, with Wales, who have beaten the Scots twice in three meetings, the lowest-ranked team.

31 Jul 00:56 · edited 09 Sep 05:14
Difficult? Any draw is difficult for Scotland. There are far worse draws out there which could have been handed.

Also, what's going on with Celtic, playing friendlies rather than the SPL? Can someone explain that?
31 Jul 02:40 · edited 09 Sep 05:14
Damn. Really wanted them to draw England. Fletcher had his fingers crossed that also.

something to do with agreeing to the friendlies before the season draw was put out.. then they were told they have an early start to the season. By then it was too late to cancel the games. I think.

It was great to see the super Saints get a win at Parkhead at the weekend. Hopefully a few more teams will get wired into the Old Firm this season.

Despite what you may think. Some Scots actually don't give a f**k about the Ugly Sisters, or their Edinburgh counterparts.

If anybody's surprised by the performances of the SPL teams in Europe, they need to be locked in a rubber room.

Or we could focus on qualifying for the European Championships? I actually feel a wee bit homesick after watching this youtube clip.

In terms of Hearts and Hibs being the other "big two". Yes, I did.

Hibs are woeful now, Motherwell and Dundee are the new contenders in the race for 3rd. Hibs may yet end up back in 1st division

Hmmm...just as long as it's not the 'cousins' type linkage because it's simply not true! Generally, I loathe Celtic.

True. I'm a Falkirk fan, seems there are 3 categories of teams in the 1st div, 1) teams with no money who sell all their good players, 2) teams with no money who spent heaps and get put in administration and 3) very average teams N-Bomb2011-09-07 13:42:16
