So for tomorrow I imagine we'll see...

            Szy

Sagna BFG Kos Gibbs (I prefer Gibbs)

       Rosicky Arteta

Gnabry   Ozil     Cazorla

            Giroud

Possible contenders for starting Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Podolski.

Also why don't we bring Coquellin back on loan? He's got potential and is solid as a DMF.

Not a bad starting line up at all, Crystal Pulis will be tough to break down though I feel.

Beautiful day here in North London for a match too.

Weather looks great, Wenger's gone without his coat!

The ox has been good in midfield, usual Pulis PTB style but our 2nd half is always our strongest! Arteta off early for Rosicky...wonder what the go is.

EDIT: It was Podolski who came off for Rocky, my bad.

What a result. 2 excellent goals from The Ox. If he can keep that up and replace Ramsey's goal scoring form with his own then that gives me a lot of confidence going forward. Giroud just doesn't seem to be getting goals, be he is always involved, either drawing defenders for Ox's first, or being a part of the give and go for his second. Time to suffer through a long day before super bowl tonight!

Very good performance from the Ox who might stake a claim for a more permanent role in the middle. Mertesacker was a beast and Szcz's save was excellent too.

Ox seemed possessed. Great 2nd half. Can ox been grommed into a striker? Bit of time of the pitch and an injury free run i cant see why not. I have heard he wanted to be turn into a dmf though.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Pattern of our season  really - every injury setback seems to get nullified by another player coming back and playing himself into form.

Ramsey was in the form of his life, then when he got injured wilshere hit his straps for the first time this season. Now he's injured too, and the Ox steps up and form in that position.

Similar thing has happened at LB. Gibbs going great guns for the first half of the season, picks up an injury, Monreal slots in and hits a very good patch of form, now gibbs can't get back in the side.

Stoked that Cazorla did well on the right hand side today, it's important that he can do a job there with gnabry being inexperienced and the ox needed in central midfield for the time being. Also good to see Rosicky available again.

Giroud has had his fair share of goals this season but this morning's game showed perfectly the multitude of things he brings to the team on top of that. The one-two assist with the Ox for the second goal was excellent. He won a cr*pload in the air and despite his touch not quite being as good this morning as I usually expect of him, he still played a lot of great balls and flicks to start threatening moves. And then there were the two absolutely crucial set-piece clearances I saw (could've been more that I didn't notice). He's so key in that near-post spot on defensive corners. The sack, kosc and sagna are our only other players who are effective in the air so it's critical to have that defensive presence from Giroud as well.

Kallstrom injury story, I mean wtf, that is just messed up.

Kallstrom is only just beaten by talks of us taking a crack at a 15m beat on bring a 31 Y/O RVP back to Arsenal in the summer.

Bahaha. Hahaha. Bahahahahahaha. ROFL.

I can't think of better things to spend 15m on.

Good result - conceded 1 in the last 11 home games! Massive next 4 games though looking forward to them with the players coming back (hopefully).

Here's hoping Giroud stays injury free and the midfielders keep weighing in with their fair share of goals. Bring on the red mickeys this weekend.

Feck. Back to 2nd with Chelsea doing the business. Urgh. I suppose it doesn't change much, but it does highlight that it's possible to stop city scoring, and to score on them.

ON BBC & a lot of other sites they now run LIVE league tables, so update them every time a goal is scored.

righto, Liverpool next

should be a corker, I like some of Liverpool's football this year.

That round couldn't have gone much better really. Arsenal win, Chelsea beat City, Liverpool and Spurs both drop points when they shouldn't have and united, well, LOL.

Big game against Liverpool alright, if we can keep Suarez and Sturridge quiet again like at the Emirates that would be a good start as we should be able to score against their awful defense.

It would be a shame if they were telling lies and Agger and Sakho were actually fit...and IIRC, Sturridge didn't play the first time round. Hee hee. I am quite excited about this one!

you will be wanting that Liverpool left back to be playing - Sissokho?  He is fantastic comedy value, and should get torn a new one by Carzola and Ozil.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

Usually arsene might play rosicky in a bigger game like this, but if cazorla is taking a wide spot then we really need some pace on the other side for balance. So for me we have to have one of gnabry/poldi/ox starting... perhaps podolski for his experience, he did well at anfield last season

Wilshere comes straight back into the starting lineup for me. Gibbs/Monreal a toss-up...

                      Szczesny

Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Monreal

                Arteta-Wilshere

           Cazorla-Ozil-Podolski

                         Giroud

Injury Update:

Wilshere - possibly available for Liverpool away (Feb 8)

Ramsey - possibly available for Tottenham away (Mar 16)

Diaby - possibly available in April

Walcott - out until next season

Also:

Flamini still suspended, misses Liverpool, ManU and Liverpool (FA Cup), next game will be Bayern Munich at home (Feb 19)

Gibbs is the better player for me defensively, and I trust Gibbs finishing/crossing in the final 3rd more too.
Flamini is out with suspension as you mentioned, and I can't say I'm keen to rush Wilshere back as we are still light on midfielders. Rocky has the experience we need and the drive from midfield for some solid runs.

Likely lineup, for this though I would have preferred Gibbs as he slightly edges Monreal in defence positioning.
Also would go for Chambo on the right with Cazorla on the left so we have some pace down one flank and creativity the other, and then remove any single dimension we may have with the above lineup.

Either way whatever lineup goes with the bench is so strong we can send troops on confident we can cut a different approach.
Looking forward to it!

I get the feeling this might be one of those games where we could score a few. Although they have Suarez, Sturidge, and Coutinho causing problems up front, Johnson, Enrique, Saakho, Skrtl are all out. I imagine our creativity should help here, and with that in mind I'm thinking SkinnyB is right we need a bit of pace up front to truly test their less experienced/slowmo toure defence.
