Loic Remy to be signed in July

Why didn't we sign him in January??

Believe Wenger was confident in Podolski/Bendtner/Sanogo and with Walcott returning next season he is nervous in being over populated and giving out enough game time to please all.

No one knew Giroud would get caught cheating on his wife and subsequently drop off in form because of it....

Does anyone still think we can with something this year?

Failure to win anything this season will make this a failure. Our best chance in years and we end up having Sanogo coming off the bench to blaze one over from 8 yards.

We need Ramsay to return straight back into his first half of the season form otherwise I can see it being another frustrating end to the season.

I think our lack of firepower compared to Chelsea, Liverpool and City will be our undoing. Liverpool have scored 21 more goals than us!! One class striker and it could have been a lot different. We're missing Ramsey's goals from midfield since he's been injured.
I'd love us to win the FA Cup but the way the draw has been going this season that if we get past Everton, I bet we draw City in the semi's.

Likely story... just like drawing Bayern two years in a row!
Having home games has helped in the FA Cup at least.

Would be great if we could dig deep and make another run at the league now, we've got a good record in the back-end of the last few seasons. Some absolutely massive games coming up.
As others said, at the beginning of the season I never expected us to be top in february, still only 4 off in march, especially with chelsea and man city's squad depth. We should be even better next season. Outside of maybe sagna we won't lose anyone from the first eleven, two years in a row for us in that regard, all time record under wenger? Financial strength finally starting to show itself...

Adam charged by the FA for stamping on Giroud, no surprises there.

Couldn't agree more Paulm. Going into the season I was thinking we might manage an FA Cup run. If we got some luck. Then we lost to Aston Villa 3-1 at home on opening day. Out of the blue we signed Ozil, and started a great run of form. All of a sudden we were expecting to win the league beating out City & Chelsea with deeper talent up front, where we were weak. I think the expectation to win the league with the squad we have is a little on the disillusional side. Don't get me wrong, I'd love them to, but we've been punching above our weight and it'll be mightily impressive if we keep that up for the rest of the season.

Totally forgot about Kallstrom too, maybe we'll see him at some point? Likely he'll be fit in time for all of our midfielders back and firing.

Rosicky and Mertesacker extend their contracts with Ramsey to extend later this week. Very good news.

I love it how he calls himself BFG as well

Such a legend

Might get him on me shirt next season - first one with Puma! Should be interesting. I'm a bit scared as I won't be used to their sizing. Always a gamble not being able to try on...

Getting fired up for the FA Cup this weekend. At home to Everton will be tough but I'm guessing a 3-1.

Hard to pick my preferred midfield & forward attack but I'd guess:

                      Szy

Sagna    BFG   KOS   Gibbs

           Arteta     Wilshere

Ox             Ozil           Cazorla

               Giroud

Tough calls for Rosicky/Podolski/Flamini/Monreal

wilshere broken bone in his foot, out for 6 weeks

FARK

Once ramsey comes back (should be within 2 weeks) we will need him to stay fit.  Ox or Rosicky are options in that position, as well as playing arteta and flamini together, but i still feel we're at our best when either ramsey or wilshere are playing alongside either flamini or arteta.

also kosc pulled out of france/netherlands yesterday with a tight hamstring

with us only having 3 specialist CBs, I'd err on the side of caution and play tommy V tomorrow night if I were arsene... verm could do with a run-out, is a quality player, and surely we don't want to risk kosc tearing that hammy

Yup, Paulm I'd agree with Vermy coming in. Additionally I'd bring in Flamini for Wilshere, although it could just as easily be Rosicky, but Flamini and Arteta will be fresh as given their lack of international duties.

yea that's a great point.

Maybe;

                      Fabianski

Sagna-Mertesacker-Vermaelen-Gibbs

                   Flamini-Arteta

                 Ox-Ozil-Cazorla

                         Giroud

We ought to put out the strongest XI possible imo.

Permalink Permalink

Put the strongest team out, its the only chance we have of winning a trophy realistically and failure to do so will be another poor season.

Wilshere out with another injury, though Ramsey is possibly back for Bayern away

this would be my strongest available team, kosc and fabianski aside. Kosc has a dodgy hammy and fab has been getting the fa cup games, which i'm happy with as he's been in good form.

I agree with this team. Hopefully Vermaelen can step in and do the job we know he's capable of. Hopefully Koscielny is just being careful, breaking that partnership with the games we have coming up would be terrible.

Fair enough on Fabianski but he will be starting at Munich given Szcz suspension, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Szcz given the nod. Koscielny must start though.

Good point re. the Munich suspension. Somehow had managed to push that out of my memory.

No stress lads - I've been to all the Arsenal FA cup games this season and they have won them all. I am going today, ergo they will win

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

Nerves slightly alleviated by beer. But now everyone has gone to sleep, leaving me with 47 minutes to trawl through forums and find amusement.

Apparently Wenger has confirmed a Fabianski start.

I think Fabianski start is wise, gives Szy a break for 2 games, and gives Fabianski a warm up for the Munich affair.

People drinking in our lounge where ESPN and can't get at telly...might have to stream it!

Put your foot down brumbys!

A lot of faith placed in Sanogo, I really hope to see him repay the faith and bully Everton, and score himself a goal or two. Vermaelen is also going to have to step up and put in a big shift. I am feeling confident still, and predict a close win, inside 90 minutes. 2-1.

In saying that, it does have to be won tonight right?

Great composed finish by Ozil for the first. Sanogo works hard but he's clearly not up to it and shouldn't be starting in our most important game of the season so far. All to play for in the second half
