What? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Welbeck

4 goals in the prem, 1 in FA cup, 3 in europe. 8 in 34 appearance. For a back up striker/wide player 0.33 GPG isn't too bad.

I said 1 league goal this year, as in 2015. 4 for the entire season is still a poor return for someone who has spent half the season in the starting side. He's not good enough for a club with top 4 ambitions and we never would have considered him had Giroud not got injured the day before deadline day. But we were desperate and it was him and Balotelli available.

Interesting discussion but Henry was bang on for me saying we won't win it with Giroud. Settle for mediocrity if you like by making the most of Giroud's stats but I want us to win the league and we will never do it with Giroud.

Welbeck has done alright but not justified his (nationality inflated) price yet. We've taken Silvestre and Welbeck off them lately, they have taken RVP off us. Makes us look a little silly.

Hopefully Villa turn up for the FA Cup Final in the same type of form they produced on the weekend. Sherwood is a gooner so he will be wearing his red and white scarf from the Villa dugout.

Good point about his price being nationality-inflated

You pay a premium for english these days with the home grown squad rules

The cech rumours seem to be gathering pace.

The nabs are Falcao are lame and boring; like no one ever wasted some money. I would even call it genius that we managed to get Falcao on a loan - definitely worth the risk in my opinion. Needless to say United still had a certain Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney waiting in ranks. Just quickly since we are quantifying on goals Herrera has now scored more premier league goals than Wilshire in his entire career.

The thing with Welbeck was that when he left he very specifically and rather vocally moaned that he wasn't given game time and and forced to play out of position. He arrives at Arsenal and is given the exact same role. It is rather amusing. I suppose I should feel bitter about him jumping on our own mistake and scoring a goal but to me it exemplified everything Welbeck was: nothing special.

I would much rather take a gamble on the Falcaos of this world than the safety of having a four goal a season striker. At best we got one of the world's best. At worst we had another "b" grade striker to warm the bench.

Anyway I'm sorry to jump into a cesspool of fire with you Arse fans so lets talk about the game. I'm interested to think how you guys felt about the ref. Certain regions of the internet are bemoaning but I thought he had a pretty decent game. I also thought for the first 60 minutes, barring a Fellaini elbow, the game was played in really good spirits with (relatively) no players running to and moaning at the ref. There were a few shark tackles around I was like "here's trouble" and the players just took the free kick and got on with it. Was nice to watch.

When did Ramsey become a right winger? I haven't followed you lot at all but that seems absolutely bizarre to me.

Jamie Carragher named Koscielny in his team of the year on MNF this morning, I thought that might bring you lot some joy. Mind you he went on to pick Gerrard over Scholes in his british XI so I wouldn't trust his opinion too much.

With Sunderland paying $10 to win and the chance for us to lock in 3rd on the line you'd think it might not be a bad punt lol

We bring the fire and you bring the cesspool.

An unbelievably injury-prone Wilshire compared to a lad that has played most matches this season?  You'd be best comparing an unbelievably injury-prone Ramsey to Herrera.  And Ramsey has scored more goals in England this season than Herrera.  Apples and pears man.

Ramsey only got shifted about because Cazorla was brilliant this season.  Cue Cazorla having quite the stinker at OT at the weekend.  The game sort of felt like one squad said to the other 'well, we're both in the Chumps League next season so let's kinda leave it at that.  What say you?'.  After last season it seemed both teams were fairly comfortable with where they were at with just 8 days left in the BPL calendar.  Arsenal thinking about a Cup Final and ManU happy they weren't playing Spursday night football.

Dude, one should never gamble on one's own match!  And most certainly not against!

One goal in our last three games and held scoreless twice at home. This needs to change going into the Cup Final.

Walcott looked good this morning.

Lucky clean sheet, we looked very vulnerable on the break without Coquelin. He is so important to us these days.

We haven't been able to break down Swansea or Sunderland when they've come to our ground with 10 sitting in the box. Sherwood has Villa playing a more expansive game, unless he abandons those principles then I don't think we'll have much trouble scoring goals against them. Even then, with Coquelin back in, we will be difficult to break down. We may have only scored one in our last 3 but we haven't conceded more than 1 in a game since Monaco back in Feb. Our defence will be strong I believe. Unlike last year's final......

Decent rumours circulating that we've agreed terms with Arturo Vidal...

Not too sure about this. I assume Wenger sees him as predominantly a defensive midfielder? Otherwise it would be a bizarre signing given the box-to-box midfielders already in our squad...

Meh, like Chelsea before them money will have exchanged hands and they'll be able to do whatever they like. Funny that last summer a club with a transfer ban was able to sign a player banned from all football activities.

Would be a fantastic signing.

I don't know too much about him to be honest, other than him being hot property on the market for the last couple of years.

Have you watched him a bit foal?

kwlap, Ohakune, you serious? Goofy666 will be there for the final as well!

Doesn't Vidal have a bung knee? Would fit in well.

I don't think we'll make any big signings this off season. This squad is as good as I've seen an Arsenal squad for a long time.

Vidal would be amazing. Cazorla's got one more big season in him, Ramsey/Wilshere both struggle to string games together some times. His energy & interplay with Sanchez could only help us.

Looking to tomorrows game it's a dead rubber, unless United run riot & goal difference comes into play because we lose.

Would be nice to see:

          Akpom

The Ox Rosicky Walcott

      Wilshere Arteta

Gibbs Paulista Chambers Debuchy

              Szy

For me I'd especially love to see Rosicky play tomorrow, likely his last home match for us.

Pretty sure Rosicky is with us 2016.

He has been underused.

Jackson Martinez talk back on.

If you were Rosicky would you stay another season? He's 34 and played 18 games this season, 5 starts & 13 from the bench. He still has the legs for at least two more seasons. I'd be looking MLS or back to Czech Republic where he'll get game time.

Two quick goals for Theo showing he can hit them and poach them. Classy celebrating with the Physio who fixed him up.

Great half volley from Wilshere as I type who celebrates with the physio too.

I was told he's already signed a 1 yr extension

Well I think this morning highlighted how much we missed Theo & Jack, what a rout!

Would you put either of them into the starting 11? The back 4 is pretty much locked in, as is Cazorla & Coquellin, Sanchez, and Giroud. Would you slip in Jack & Theo for Rambo & Ozil?

Awful choice for Wenger to have to make!

If he picks on form for the final you'd have to say they'd be in there. Rough on Giroud and Ramsey but we have to go with our most in-form side surely.

Most pleasing about theo this morning was that he was playing in the striking role. Looked at home.

For sure.

I'd be tempted to throw the form players in, and let Szczesny play this one, after he was on the other side of that last year.

                      Szczesny

Bellerin-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Monreal

                 Coquelin-Cazorla

            Wilshere-Ozil-Sanchez

                        Walcott

Szy must start! After today Walcott has scored 6 goals this season and Falcao has scored 4.
