The nabs are Falcao are lame and boring; like no one ever wasted some money. I would even call it genius that we managed to get Falcao on a loan - definitely worth the risk in my opinion. Needless to say United still had a certain Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney waiting in ranks. Just quickly since we are quantifying on goals Herrera has now scored more premier league goals than Wilshire in his entire career.
The thing with Welbeck was that when he left he very specifically and rather vocally moaned that he wasn't given game time and and forced to play out of position. He arrives at Arsenal and is given the exact same role. It is rather amusing. I suppose I should feel bitter about him jumping on our own mistake and scoring a goal but to me it exemplified everything Welbeck was: nothing special.
I would much rather take a gamble on the Falcaos of this world than the safety of having a four goal a season striker. At best we got one of the world's best. At worst we had another "b" grade striker to warm the bench.
Anyway I'm sorry to jump into a cesspool of fire with you Arse fans so lets talk about the game. I'm interested to think how you guys felt about the ref. Certain regions of the internet are bemoaning but I thought he had a pretty decent game. I also thought for the first 60 minutes, barring a Fellaini elbow, the game was played in really good spirits with (relatively) no players running to and moaning at the ref. There were a few shark tackles around I was like "here's trouble" and the players just took the free kick and got on with it. Was nice to watch.
When did Ramsey become a right winger? I haven't followed you lot at all but that seems absolutely bizarre to me.
Jamie Carragher named Koscielny in his team of the year on MNF this morning, I thought that might bring you lot some joy. Mind you he went on to pick Gerrard over Scholes in his british XI so I wouldn't trust his opinion too much.
