your speaking my language TS
what a pile driver that was
Obafemi was always good for a goal against Spurs
yet another reason the Arse should have brought him into their squad.

Strangely, no. I don't remember.

But I do just remember Super Mac which Mr Foal30 is referring to re gannin doon South. Just at the start of my Northern love affair with NUFC.

Interesting to see hes got 3 goals from 7 games this season for Wolfsburg. Hope he can get back to the form he showed in his first season at the toon. I miss him

That away kit in that video was pretty average though...Still better than this years pajama outfit, awful.

Yep thats NZ football coverage for you.
Someone needs to bring Foxtel from Aus to NZ. They regularly televise Championship matches. Think we will have to stick to the internet football streams for now though.

Why dont Sky just let Foxtel do the football period!?? I can even put up with Robbie Slater if it means I got to see any Championship games - and prematch A League programmes.

No sky at our household. But we have recently joined the rest of the world on broadband (saw my first nix away game last w/e - wondered why I bothered!).

Somewhat of a marginal call as to if I watch Toon (and Spurs) games on the net as it does mean that the next day won't so good for me (either for work or for hanging out with the chillen - feck, I wish they wouldn't be so hard to get out of bed during the week but in the weekend are up at the sparrow's proverbial).

May try and sneak the odd game here or there.

Very pleased with Andy Carroll's performance - apparently, more so than most.  Keeping his head up after a terrible miss, then going on to score the equaliser and make the winner is a testament to his ability and character.

Not happy at all for three reasons.

1. Ashley taken club off market and saying he is going to be putting 20mill into club and will move the club forward. Heard it all before, wont happen.

2. Hughton has done a good job but i dont believe he is a long term manager, and if we were to get promoted, his managerial skills in the premier league would be extremely tested. Can see many similaraties to Glenn Roader.

3. Ashley said he wants to encourage sponsership naming rights of St James Park. Change a historial name connected with NUFC. Another blow to the Toon supporters.

Another terrible day as far as im concerned for NUFC. When will it end.

Despite what he says, he's clearly in it for whatever $$ he can get out of it. Why would you be in a business where your customers clearly don't like you?

100% agree. I think he is now waiting to see if we can get promotion because that means he will be able to gain more money in the sale. All about the $$. Doesnt give a toss about the fans and the history of the club.

Guarantee he trys to resell it in the english summer.

A wins a win. And that win moved us to the top of the championship so im very happy. The reports from the game suggest Steve Harper was outstanding in goal.

An absolute disgrace and one of the saddest days in NE England history when you became owner of NUFC.

What the f**k??  Drum roll please.

sportsdirect.com @ St James' Park Stadium

Genius

Newcastle United have announced their stadium will be known as the sportsdirect.com @ St James' Park Stadium for the immediate future.
The news comes after an announcement from owner Mike Ashley that the stadium sponsorship rights were up for offer from prospective businesses.
Managing director Derek Llambias told BBC Newcastle: "We will showcase Sports Direct until the end of the season.
"I'm sure we're going to get a sponsor in for next season."
Ashley angered supporters of Newcastle United late last month when he announced the club's plans to rename the stadium for commercial purposes, having taken them off the market.

And Llambias admitted the club could have dealt with the announcement better, but is confident the plans are in the best interests of Newcastle United.
"We could have worded it better, and that's why we came out yesterday to explain what we're trying to achieve," he said.
"With the renaming it was always going to be whatever brand it was, at St James' Park. For the remainder of this season, we already have sportsdirect.com on the Gallowgate so we'd like to take that branding through the rest of the stadium."

And Llambias was also keen to express that the existing St James' Park name was to stay a feature of the site, and believes supporters will see a tangible impact if the scheme is a success in the future.
"In our reign, absolutely, it's just adding to it," he added. "If it brings in a good chunk of money to the club, that goes straight to the team, it's a revenue we should look at.".

As I've said previously.  If I didn't have a laugh I'd be crying:

NAME OF THE GAME
Are the muppets@St James' Park trying to wind up Newcastle fans?
"The final insult" has been drafted and redrafted dozens of times since Mike Ashley climbed out of an Umbro bargain bin and bought the Toon. Within months Ashley had achieved the impossible making Freddy Shepherd seem efficient, humble and successful.

Much like the career of Ricky Gervais, it was funny at first. But no one's laughing now. OK, Sunderland fans are still laughing. Hard. Their latest gag? Newcastle will be sponsored by Tyneside Waterpark next season. TW@ St James' Park. Those who speak text language can stop sniggering now.

Wigan owner Dave Whelan, Ashley's long-term rival in the Chav clothing market, will undoubtedly stick in a bid. And a whip-round on Wearside could yet see Sunderland fans buy the rights, allowing them to officially rename it Sid James' Park.

Impossible? You'd think so. But with Ashley and Derek Llambias at the wheel, anything is possible.
Llambias, Newcastle's chief executive, has in many ways, drawn the shortest straw in football. It is his job to explain Ashley's actions to Newcastle fans. You fancy that gig? But despite the impossibility of his position, Llambias gets zero sympathy. Which, judging by yesterday's interview with the BBC, is exactly what he deserves.

Not only did Llambias insult Newcastle's fans (average attendance this season 41,251) by saying: "You need to concentrate on supporting the team. You may not like the administration but we're here, we're investing. We've made mistakes in the past but we are doing our best. If you get behind our team, your team, it's necessary."

He also claimed that he had no idea what Ashley's intentions were: "He may want to take on a partner, I'm not sure we've not had that conversation." Kind of makes you wonder what conversations they are having. Presumably, they just make bets about how useless Newcastle's players are; the kind of bets which, in the past, have led to Llambias sprinting naked across St James' Park. Excuse me, sprinting naked across the pitch at sportingdirect.com@St James' Park. Wouldn't want to put off any potential sponsors now, would we...

Yes - no one is going to call it "Sports direct dot com at SJP".

But what an @rse of a name!  It just screams "we're broke and we'll do anything for a few bob ... seen any sailors at the docks recently?".  Maybe not too far from the truth but it is just so arrogant and at odds with a pretty lofy original name (even if you aren't a Christian).

Might have been more easier to take if it was originally e.g. Ronald MacDonald's Stadium-----> sportsdirect.com@Ronald MacDonald's Stadium.

Oh wtf - I'd be reaching for a vat of Newcastle Broon now if I could (and if I drunk).
