A month or so, some D-bag from the sh*t-side-of-london FC was on here baiting us about "bottling it", without of course commiting to what that meant.. (coward).
Anyways, I would suggest that the team most likely to bottle things now certainly isn't spurs. ;)

Last night was a stroll. It's odd how a 3-0 smashing can be almost boring?? Werder brought nothing. It was nowhere near as fun to watch as the inter game.
I'm just a bit disappointed with the back line though. They almost ALWAYS try to feed the ball out to the left flank. I can understand why - with Bale in such good form. But they seem to forget how competent Aaron Lenon is on the right. With opposition defences concentrating more than 50% of their resources on bale, their left flanks are exposed for Lenon to run at them.... I see our boys getting a little bit bale-centric in their distribution....

It must of worked if you're still going on about it

Three for me, and two for them.

Of course it "worked".... as if that's some kind of acheivement? What do you want, a gold star?

So now, why don't you trot back to your sub-forum and tell all your mates how you "got a spurs fan to reply" to one of your idiotic comments. I'm sure they'll spend half a day congratulating you on your masterful wit.

So i take it you didn't understand the wink was just me in jest then?

Ok, well done on qualifying for the next round. Can you please relax now?

Three for me, and two for them.

Lolz, well, if 'Arry knows what he's doing, he'll feed Lennon all day against us, with Paul 'The Konch' Konchesky standing out there. Mind you, with GJ on the other side...

Anyways, can't wait for our game. Nothing like watching 10 men inside our own box hoofing up to one poor soldier in Red up against half a team. if you bother to turn up in the slightest- and we set up how we have for the entire season-  expect to put 3 or 4 past us.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, oh what fun it is to watch Hogdson play away, hey!

'twill be interesting.  Our lads have played two major games within the week (last one admittedly not too onerous), it might catch up with them.

Edit: Casual Fri - dilemma between Holsten top or Nix City T.  Ended up being Fever Friday but Holsten was actually over the torso before making the final decision.

do you think you guys can back it up and win again this weekend. not having a go but i can see you guys not winning. spose im used to previous seasons where you would sorta take 2 steps forward and 1 back.

should be an interesting game anyway and whilst i said i could see you not winning i think its a different team this year so anything could happen

It's Spurs no matter who wears the shirt so anything does happen.

I certainly hope so.. but I've been a spurs fan for long enough to know that hopes can be easily dashed....

Tbh, youu're playing an utterly rubbish side; even worse away from home.

Tbh, a draw probably would've been a fair result, but nah, we've got The Konch to help you out. Gratz.

Sounds like a cracking game.  2-1 seems to a favoured score against the 'pyul.

Note to opposition (if in doubt, bring down the attacker in the penalty box - good odds that we won't score).

Sound idea, but Konchesky wasn't even close enough to do that

Bale almost anonymous so Lennon rips the opposition apart. Never do I recall THFC having such options on both flanks. And yes, El Nino, we did get by with a little help from our friend, Konchesky!

yeah, GJ and Kuyt did a good job on Bale, tbf. But any right winger in the Prem could tear apart our left side thanks to that useless muppet

Mmm, HH, have to say i disagree on this one, thought he had one of his better Premier League games today, recently in the EPL he has been shut down (Everton, Man Yoo), but today thought he was pretty good, i think 3 of their Yellow cards were direct results of 'stopping' a mazy run of his.

Interesting stat from todays game is that we have missed 4 penalties this season, and Defoe has missed 6 of his last 7 - that must be some kind of record, terrible!

That was a very stressfull game indeed. I was very happy to see Lenon get amongst it. As long as Lenon is fit, and teams spend their defensive resources trying to shut bale down, we'll have at least one flank to advance down.

Modric has been alive the last two/three games. He demonstrated some real pace too yesterday, beating three liverpool defenders for his pass that resulted i the own-goal.

Ref was pretty average though. I think he could have given a couple of calls against spurs that he didn't, which might have changed the game in liverpool's favour. But, these things happen.

It's just a shame that most of the other top sides also had good results, so we weren't really able to make up much ground.

I see loads of mish-mash-and-hasch journalism popping up today in the british tabloids and "respectable" media about spurs winning the title. What a load of crap.

Why do journalists ask players (i.e. Modric) if they can win the title? Of course the player has to say "yes"... And yes, it is possible, but it's not LIKELY, that's the important question. Is it likely? No.

It is LIKELY that ManUre, Chalky or Arse-about will win.
It is possible that another team will win, but not likely.

Stupid journalists.

so papers should not be allowed to ask questions of players if they are a bit hard?

All a player has to say is what you wrote above - "it is possible but there are some very good teams also trying to win it who would be considered favourites because of the exerience, etc." Doesn't seem that difficult.

The only reason that journalists are asking players those sorts of questions is cause Churchill started spouting off about it a week or so ago, completely unaided by any journalists questions pointing him in that direction.

Why does he take them then?!

To be biased and a Liverpool fan, I think that some of those yellow cards were pretty ridiculous. Johnson's one, for example, was the exact same tackle as the penalty shout we had with Kuyt. No foul called for Kuyt, yellow card given to Johnson. Bale got more protection than the "endagered chimp that he looks like" while Torres got knees in the back and fk all fouls. And Hutton's dive going unpunished was insane too! The referee was awful (I'm not blaming him for our defeat, I know we're sh*t, just saying that he had a terrible game). I thought Bale was pretty quiet compared to what i was expecting from him, and I was planning to come on here and make smug comment about Bale being missing, but then Lennon popped up and scored...

Real pace? Uhm, it was Carragher that he beat. Really wouldn't judge his speed based on that. Nice run though. Again, wouldn't take too much from Lennon's performance yesterday after the 'defending', and i dread to call it that, by Konchesky to let him in, not only for the goal, but for large periods of the game.

Yip, agree, I think the ref was terrible. he was bookinng our players for their first fouls and letting Spurs players get away with anything. Again, no excuses- I'm not coming in here to whinge!

God knows, I heard Harry say VDV was off so couldn't, and Bale missed one recently, and Crouch, well no...

But what abouot Modric? He's a good striker of the ball and surely is worth a go...

Re the rest of your ramble - yes you are biased!

Yeah, exactly, Modric seems like he'd be good at them. And surely he couldn't do much worse than 1 in 7...

Hiow did you get that from what I wrote?  The question is pathetic becasue it's NOT hard. It's not probing. The answers are obvious. . . . That's precisely my beef with post-match interviews. It's the same of dumbed-down trash EVERY bloody week.

Journo: So, can you win the title now?
Player: Yes, we have a good team yadda yadda, we can push for the top spot
HEADLINE: "Player says team can win title"

Well, you never know when your first choice may get sent-off and the first replacement seriously injured. You have to be prepared for all eventualities, Harry knows that.
