It may be refreshingly honest, but it's also the epitome of everything wrong with the typical modern footballer. Only in it to pick up his weekly pay check, could barely give two shits about the club, it's fans, it's history, or it's culture.
Also this isn't a dig because he plays for Spurs. If an Arsenal player came out with this i would react in the exact same manner.
Yeah, I completely agree, but I'd suggest the vast majority of players probably feel the same way.
The good old days of players spending all, or most, of their careers at one club is well gone. Sad fact of life is that footballers are highly paid mercenaries who'll go, in most cases, with whoever waves the biggest cheque at them. Nothing to do with feelings or loyalty to the club or supporters, it's all about the $$$$.
