Awesome result this morning. Sadly was stuck at work so had to do with updates. Just about to settle down now and watch the game.

So happy though. Into the semis where Valencia wait for us!

VAMOS ATLETI!!!

f**k. sh*te start this morning, I guess the Europa League has taken a bit of a toll on the squad.

Still. With Real drawing, we could potentially put Barca in the driver's seat of La Liga

Cannot wait FORZA ATLETIIIIIIII!!!!!!!

So, err... let's chalk that up as a draw with Real Madrid and losing 0-3 to Ronaldo, OK?

Looks pretty good, Valencia will have to score three to go through.  (You and I both know that Falcao will pick up another.)

In the other semi, I'm not sure your old mate Insua read the script.

Haha, yeah, Falcao is just incredible. Adrian can't stop scoring in Europe either. Great team performance right throughout against a good Valencia team. Unfortunately a couple of soft goals (especially the last one ) means the tie is still open.. But its ours to lose now! I suspect we shall see a fairly rough performance next week- a typically 'Simeone' performance

Still a massive trip to Bilbao for Sporting though, fancy Athletic to get there. Always liked Insua though, useful little player.

Also, Soldado is a dickhead. Sad that Tiago will miss the final because of Soldado being a prat (although he has to take responsibility obvio). At least we have gabi and Suarez. Going to be some final- impossible to pick a favourite.

If Athletic can play their first team, the odds favour them.  But that's a big if.  I think Atleti's squad can handle anything short of a total injury crisis.

I am required to say that fifth is a good finish. :)

It's a little sad to see Villareal go down - it seems like such a short time since we were admiring the Sub's system and declaring that it was no shame to lose to them.

Yeah, I too was sad to see the Yellow Submarine go down, hope they'll be able to bounce back but I have my doubts.

Malaga into Champions League qualifiers, they might be making an even more of a splurge in the transfer market this (European) summer.

Missed this thread haha. So much has happened since Bucarest. Namely another European trophy in the bag ;) that's 4 in 3 years now- pretty impressive! Falcao is STILL absolute boss. We will miss him when he leaves. Antonio Lopez and Perea both gone as well- fantastic servants of the club. El Cholo Simeone still in charge, long may that continue! Juanfran went to the Euro's and took the piss out of Hazard. All and all, dangerously optimistic start for Atleti. This can't last for long...

Malaga in all sorts of financial trouble (fairly reflective of Spain as a whole...) though. And hope Villareal can bounce back up.

Aupa Atleti!

Atleti win the Madrid derbi... Against Rayo. 4-0 up with 10 minutes left- ended up 4-3.. but 3 points, still sitting above Real with a game in hand!!!

Madridistas catching up now. Really need to hold it together for the second half of the season. Sevilla in the semi's of the Copa del Rey. Signed Insua at left back, which isn't good if Filipe is leaving. Falcao injured as well, which means we will struggle for a few weeks.

Thai striker dangda on trial there. If it doesnt work out lets get him

derbi soon, just a week of waiting. gutted Diego Costa is suspended for it. huge game though. Forza Atleti!

Come on Dotrmund. Give them a hiding. Plus, a few injuries wouldn't go amiss.. Still gutted we won't get to see Diego Costa against them, he'd start a riot (again). Never mind, up to Falcao to do it for us.

Great news... Diego Costa's ban was uplifted so he can play el derbi... And hearing reports that Cristiano is out with a slight knock too! VAMOS ATLETI!

Congrats, El-Pistolero. Your team finally did it.

Thanks guys! Needless to say, was a massively, massively enjoyable Saturday. I'm still buzzing off this result. What drama! What can you say about this team and Diego 'El Cholo' Simeone? Courtois pulled of some absolutely outstanding saves- one in particular against Ozil near the end (matched only by Juanfran's clearance off the line from Ozil!). What a player Courtois is though. Really hope we can tie him up for a permanent deal from Chelsea. And Gabi... As Simeone said "Mama mia... Que partido de Gabi!". What a captain he is, absolutely immense. Diego Costa and Falcao- absolute dream frontline. Wonder who we will replace Falcao with?

Overall, a boss season. Third place comfortably, Champion's League bound, and beating Real Madrid in a final to win a Cup. Couldn't have asked for much more! Absolutely made up with that. Hope we can keep progressing, which means keeping our best players!!!

Muchas gracias, Cholo.

14 years. Welcome to eternal glory, mi Atleti.

Does anyone know when the draw for the 2013-2014 La Liga is released? I have had a search around but can't find anything specific.

I'm aware this isn't strictly the correct thread for this but it seems to be the most active La Liga-related thread.

I am in Barcelona for three days in November and would love to go to a game. Whether that is even possible is another issue but one step at a time!

Spain is really bad for it... It was late-July last year. Think they are trying to get the season to start a few weeks earlier this year but that won't change your plans. I think it's still being sorted out. They are having protests about shite kick-off times and days. And probably letting Real decide exactly how they want their fixtures.

Be great if you could catch a game though!

Thanks for that, much appreciate. Do you have any idea how tough it would be to get tickets?

Permalink Permalink

Are you talking Barcelona or Espanol?

Permalink Permalink

Barcelona (although I know that might be a big ask).

Apologies again that this is off topic, happy to redirect if someone can point me in the right direction just didn't think it was worth starting a new thread.

Permalink Permalink

Depends on the game. Really big games can be pretty tough to get tickets for. Smaller games you're a chance if you're after only one ticket, if you're trying to get a group together that can be tricky because of the high number of season ticket holders so hard to get a big group sitting together. Paradoxically, you might be a better chance of a Champions League game at that time if they're playing someone rubbish.

Group size will be no larger than 2 or 3 of us, so hopefully that should be fine. Will only there for a couple of days over a weekend, so Champions League football chances are slim to none unfortunately.

Edit: Cheers for your help E.G.
