I  have found out that in FM10 a number of players (including Frank Lampard and Shane Smeltz) will be a year older than they were in FM09.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Of course they will, it didn't even need to be asked.

Calm down ladies

Is there any previews anywhere?... should I wait for 10 (have 08 atm) or snap up an 09 now it's on special?...

No previews for a few months.

Major data deadline isn't for another 4 weeks (I hope), let alone demo versions of the game.

I dont know if you can answer this HN, but in FM 10 would you be able to manage a NZFC or Aussie state team(say in the VPL)?

Thanks. Will there more detail with them?(if that makes sense) Everton FC2009-07-20 13:44:43

The NZFC sides are usually pretty good except they need to be as at the end of the previous season as the game is released before the NZFC sides are done.  The Aus state league sides depend on the quality of the Aus assistants.

Edit the A-League, swap the teams over, edit the name of the comp, reputation etc and you have a playable NZFC.

I have done it, Canterbury and Manawatu were the teams to beat

Do you have FM 09? If so I could upload a NZFC database next week, you need to have 9.30 patch though

have the problems of 08 being ironed out whereby you could only transfer players between A League clubs unless the players contract was about to expire - I used to get this annoying message saying the transfer cannot take place with a club from the same competition which is weird.

Also a bug where everytime my A League would hit season 4-5 it was lock and not continue any further rather frustrating when things were getting good.
Never got 09 because of these however more than willing to get 10 if it no longer has these issues.

That player transfer 'problem' that you speak of is something you'll have to raise with the FFA, it's a real-world rule.

So let me get this straight, does a player not currently transfer from one club to another when they have 2, 3 or 4 years left on their contract????

It happens all the time, since when do we wait until the contract expiry to move - also I was stating that the problem is transferring a player within the A League any other league is fine.

I said the FFA, not FIFA. Players cannot transfer between A-League clubs except on Bosman moves. Real World rule, not sure if you can change it in the editor.

I saw a couple F's and an A and naturally thought FIFA.
First I have heard of this ruling, seems strange of FFA to buck FIFA's wider global ruling so be it.....

It's a fair enough mistake to make. It is probably related to keeping a level playing field, alongside the salary cap and squad size limits.

If you have FM 09, can it be updated for the 09/10 squads, or do you have to buy FM 10?
Permalink Permalink

You could play with it in the supplied Data Editor but some details will have been updated.

Hey guys just got am email from SI games, This is what it said:

  • Improved Match Engine improved AI, over 100 new animations in 3D mode, new stadiums and crowds, improved pitch degradations and better lighting make for the most immersive pitch-side experience ever.
  • New User Interface completely new vibrant look and feel to the game with a light and dark skin to choose from, plus a navigational overhaul. The side menu is replaced by an intuitive tab system which allows you to access all areas of FM 2010 quickly and easily.
  • Tactical Overhaul a new tactics module makes it much easier to make your team play as you want them to. There are thousands of possible pre-set options and touchline shout instructions for making instant changes to your teams playing style. Dont worry; the old system is still there for people who love their sliders.
  • Match Analysis a new tool shows you where shots, passes, crosses, headers, tackles, fouls and interceptions have happened for both sides, so you can work out your, and your opponents, strengths and weaknesses.
  • New Data Editor As well as being able to update squads, with the brand new and very easy to use Competition Editor you can now add cups and extra divisions for leagues currently in the game plus completely new competitions.
  • News Center a subscription based newspaper. Get the news about the football world around you that you want, and not the news you dont want.
  • Polish a year of polish, making the game faster, more immersive, more realistic and easier to play with better in game feedback and more advice, delivered in a more user friendly way.
  • Football Manager Handheld 2010 New Features A brand new skin for the game, improved match engine AI, new unlockable managerial abilities, assistant manager team reports and improved coach and scout reports amongst others.
Bring it on, looks like we can use the NZFC using the editor with out messy mucking around with data bases.

That is my understanding... of course at the moment the NZFC squads are a shambles but I should get that sorted soon.
